In this study, we looked at how balanced the various christian denominations in Sweden were raised in the news, on the basis of the requirement for balanced reporting. To measure the balance, we utilized Harcup and O'Neill?s news values and studied to what degree these values occurs in association with news articles that address the various denominations. The following denominations were selected for this study; Word of Life, the Pentecostal Church, Jehovah's witnesses, the Catholic Church, the Salvation Army and the Swedish Church. These denominations were then studied on the basis of news values in four of Sweden?s largest news organisations, in terms of audience numbers.

Purpose/Aim: To find power structures within the blog network.Material/Method: Using keywords to find all available blog posts about the National Defence Radio Establishment from the blog search engine Twingly, and thereafter using the same blog search engine to find inlinks from other blogs, to those posts. The data is set into the context of the small-world networks models of Duncan J. Watts and rich-club models of Sergi Valverde och Ricard V. Sole.Main results: 5183 unique blogs have written about the subject in 22779 blog posts to which 28128 inlinks from other blogposts are made. Just over one fifth of the blogs are linkted to each other in one big network, where the remaining blogs stand without any ingoing or outgoing links.

I följande text kommer du att finna svar på vad lyssnarna förväntar sig av sin programledare i radio. Du kommer också att upptäcka att det finns främst två olika typer av lyssnargrupper som ställer olika slags krav på sina programledare. Dessa grupper valde jag att kalla för liberala och konservativa lyssnare. Varje lyssnare är dock liberal och/eller konservativ i olika hög grad. I slutändan blev det i alla fall bekräftat att programledarens roll i radion är av stor vikt för om en lyssnare ska vilja fortsätta lyssna på ett program eller inte.

This thesis is a part of the DySCAS (Dynamically Self-Configuring Automotive System)project which has the overall purpose of creating a middleware for the electronics in an automotive environment. The thesis has been made with collaboration with ENEA AB who is a member of the DySCAS project. ENEA AB has developed a demonstration platform to test the fundamental ideas which the DySCAS project is built on.The purpose of this thesis was to design and implement a GPS application to be added to the demonstration platform. This was done by adding a GPS receiver to the original DySCAS demonstration platform and designing and implementing an application to be able to extract the information from it. The resulting application is able to present cur- rent position and absolute time to the DySCAS networks as services to be used by other applications or by the network it self.

During the development of microwave based sensors such as radar target seekers, input signals are needed to verify the performance of the system. Therefore, a channel board has been developed by previous thesis projects at Saab Bofors Dynamics. It uses a technique called Digital Radio Frequency Memory (DRFM). The purpose of this board is to sample and digitally store radio frequency signals in order to reconstruct them after a certain delay.The aim of this thesis project was to use the channel board named above to construct a portable instrument for generation of stimuli signals. This assignment has been divided into two tasks: firstly, to construct and put together the hardware components and secondly, to implement a graphical user interface for the instrument.

In modern military operations the requirements of transmitting large amounts of information have increased substantially during the last decade. This increases the demand for high-capacity radio networks. It is also very important that military decisions are made on recent and correct information and this implies that low and known delays are required. The existing military radio ommunications, within the Swedish army, do not meet the requirements for capacity and delay. We have investigated how the capacity and average delay can be improved in an Ad Hoc network with STDMA by using antenna arrays.

Det finns många så kallade dokusåpor, eller realityserier som vi kommer kalla dem i denna rapport, på teve. Från 1995, året då realityserien kom till Sverige i och med sändningen av ?The Real World Stockholm?, har antalet produktioner inom realitygenren ökat kraftigt. När vi i höstas gjorde en förundersökning gällande realityserier (?Den redigerade verkligheten ? en studie i realityseriers berättarteknik?) fann vi att radiomediet inte alls hade samma utbud inom realitygenren som teve har.

Alkohol förekommer i många människors vardag och det är ett fenomen vi har att förhålla oss till. Samtidigt är alkoholmissbruk ett stort socialt problem som vi ofta möter inom socialt arbete. Det är i vår mening därför alltid aktuellt att studera hur vi talar kring alkohol. Denna uppsats syftar till att belysa den bild av alkohol och alkoholmissbruk som framkommer i Sveriges Radio idag, vad detta får för konsekvenser för vår förståelse av alkohol som fenomen och av alkoholmissbruk som ett socialt problem. För att genomföra denna studie har vi använt oss av diskursanalys, mer specifikt så har vi använt oss av diskursteori som teoretiskt angreppssätt och metod.

This is a critical discourse analysis of the conformation of the conflict in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo, as constructed by Ekot, a news-show on Radio Sweden. The ambition of this bachelor thesis is to examine the production of a Congolese conflict for a Swedish audience and to find out how the construction differences with and without a reporter in the field. To obtain this purpose the narrative is studied as well as the use of voices that define the conflict. The construction of proximity between Swedish audience and the Congolese event and the meaning of sound to stabilize the formation of discourse within foreign news is examined as well. To conform and explain foreign news it must be put in relation to a starting point.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the possibility to make small, cheap and ultra low power sensor platforms, connected in wireless networks for monitoring of home and industrial environments. The concept is based on ideas from our supervisor, Jerry Lindblom. The developed system consists of a generic platform for different sensors, a receiver and software. A GPRS module from RO Rollytech AB and a database from Gema Industri AB have been modified and used to demonstrate an example of a complete system. To the platform, it is possible to connect any resistive sensor and any sensor that can act as a switch.

Den unge blinde Hans Roland Orgenius hade fått en gedigen musikutbildning på Blindinstitutet Tomteboda när han vid 15 års ålder beslöt att prova på en karriär som jazzpianist. Efter skolan sökte han arbete på Sveriges Radio, där han fick anställning som pianist för att spela i flera radioprogram, ofta tillsammans med sin något äldre kamrat från Tomteboda, Reinhold Svensson. Han började också få spelningar i Stockholmstrakten och blev mycket populär framför allt för sitt sätt att spela boogie-woogie. På somrarna gjorde han turnéer på landsbygden bl a med sångaren Chris Dane. Hans framgångar gav honom skivkontrakt, först med Sonora och sedan Columbia, och han spelade in flera 78-varvsskivor under åren 1952-54.

The population of seatrout and salmon are threatened by over-fishing in the sea and loss of spawning and growing habitats caused by logging activities in many swedish rivers. The knowledge of the spawning migration and the habitat use of the seatrouts and salmon are limited. This study analyse the upstream spawning migration of Atlantic salmon and sea-running brown trouts from the lower part of the rivers to their spawning sites in the rivers Vindelälven and Piteälven. A knowledge about the distribution of spawning sites in the rivers will help these fish population in future restoration programs. In the fishladder at Norrfors in the river Umeälven were 29 sea trout and 20 salmon radio tagged and subsequently released and followed during their spawning migration upstream Vindelälven. They were tracked on their position in the river once a week.

The purpose of this thesis is through a case study and a survey; to examine the most appropriate communication channels between a sender and a receiver. It also aims to make this relationship more effective.The following questions are to be answered:1.  Abstract: Facebook in the Public Sector - qualitative interviewstudy with The Swedish maritime Administration, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, the Swedish prison and Probation services and the municipality of Katrineholm about their precense on Facebook.In my bachelor?s thesis I have studied how three government authority and one municipality uses or don?t use Facebook in their communication towards the citizens. I have chosen to study four different cases, to see if there are any significant similarities or differences between how the different services are working with their communication. I have chosen to explore my cases through semi-structured qualitative interviews, where I met communications officers of every organisation face to face.I have found out that there is not one right way to communicate through Facebook, every organisations decisions must be based on their own mission, aims and objectives. And I have seen that both the transmitter and the receiver need to mature into the new acting of this new channel - Facebook..

The systems environments of today are often distributed and heterogeneous. These kind of systems have several advantages but also disadvantages. One problem is how to keep them secure.The security problems in these environments are mainly due to the communication between the connected computers. It is relatively easy to tap these communication channels from information. There is also a need for the possibility to secure these channels from modification of sent information and to be able to verify the sender and receiver of information in a secure manner.
