The purpose of my examination work was to show the need for support for students with another mother-tongue than Swedish, so that these students would be able to get through mathematics tuition better. To achieve this purpose, I chose to start from the perspective that presented itself at interviews with two class teachers and two mother-tongue supervisors. I also chose to use the qualitative research interview as study method, as I tried to understand those informing me in a thorough and in-depth way. In my study I have had a sociocultural perspective as starting point where the conceptions teaching, language and communication, support and individualizing are central for the development of knowledge. The questions for my study during this process were as follows: What difficulties, according to the teachers interviewed can occur for second language students in mathematics? What ways and methods of working do the teachers chosen give priority to, so that   the second language students` results in mathematics will improve? The results from my interviews show that the difficulties with mathematics for second anguage students can be perceived as being dependent on a combination of reasons, where amongst other things language plays a central part.

The purpose of this Master's thesis is to study how children's and youth librarians mediate non-fiction books in public libraries. Our overarching research question is as follows: to which extent, how, and for what reasons do children's and youth librarians mediate non-fiction? We have chosen to limit our study to the practice of booktalking.In order to answer questions on extent we conducted a quantitative survey of booktalking children's and youth librarians in Skåne. To answer our other questions on behaviour and attitudes we conducted observations and interviews with six librarians who include non-fiction in booktalks for children in primary school. As a way to study behaviour we examined librarians' selection criteria and methods.

In the decades leading up to the First World War, the Swedish army (as the rest of Swedish society) was greatly influenced by Germany (i.e. subject primarily to Prussian military influence). German equipment was purchased and German training methods and ways of organizing military units were copied. Apart from such easily discernible traces of German influence, the Swedish officer corps - according to earlier research - harboured sympathies for Germany and the German Army. This thesis deals with the development of a specification regarding a push-button, which will be used to control the gear-shifting function in an automobile. In addition to this the author will describe different techniques and theories that have been helpful in achieving data and results for the specification.Kongsberg Automotive AB, is located in Mullsjö, Sweden, the company supplies parts to the automotive industry. In the research and development department, R&D, there is a group that works with development of Shift-By-Wire systems. In an automobile with a Shift-By-Wire system the communication between the gear-shifter and the gear-box occurs electronically. The mechanical link is, in most cases, taken away and replaced by the digital system.

I den aktuella kommun där studien genomförts har stora satsningar gjorts på att fortbilda vårdpersonal i demensvård under många år. Trots detta har det visat sig att det finns svårigheter för vårdarna att omsätta kunskaperna i det vardagliga arbetet. Under 2005-2008 pågår Kompetensstegen, en stor nationell satsning för att förbättra vården och omsorgens inre kvalitet i äldreomsorgen. Jag ville därför med mitt examensarbete undersöka effekterna av en så stor utbildningssatsning. Syftet var att undersöka vårdpersonalens uppfattningar av lärandet och de nya kunskaper som de fått genom Kompetensstegens demensutbildningar och vilka möjligheter eller hinder som finns för ett fortsatt lärande efter utbildningen.

Great potential lay in facilitating the learning experience by art exhibitions, and the possibility of designing exhibitions that make visitors attracted to learn. The purpose of the present work is to study the means of creating favorable conditions for lifelong and enjoyable learning in art exhibitions. The concept of learning has multiple definitions, and several have been used effectively in various ways in preceding works. The underlying principle of this work is that visitors learn by actively processing information in their own minds and through experiences. The term lifelong learning is often associated with employability and adaptability.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka och bidra med kunskap om hur lärande påverkas och skiljer sig vid grupp och individuellt arbete och vilken arbetsform som av lärare anses påverka studenterna till ett bra lärande. Det är en kvalitativ studie där sex lärare inom högre utbildning har intervjuats.Resultatet visade att grupparbete i en liten grupp där studenterna arbetar med främmande personer som de inte känner påverkar lärandet mest. Grupparbetet anses ge inspiration till nya tankar och idéer och anses därmed vara den bästa arbetsformen för ett bra lärande.Respondenterna ansåg att inte alla passar för att arbeta i grupp eller individuellt. Därför framkom det att individanpassad undervisning var något som respondenterna trodde skulle kunna hjälpa vissa studenter som har det svårt i skolan, så att de själva fick välja om de ville arbeta i grupp eller individuellt. Men detta är en resursfråga för lärarna som inte har resurser för att rätta alla studenternas arbeten varje gång det är examination.

I utbildningen till lärare ingår verksamhetsförlagd utbildning, VFU. VFU genomförs på en skola, förskola eller fritidshem hos en lärare i verksamheten, en VFU-lärare. För bedömning och kvalitetssäkring av utbildningsmomentet besöker en lärarutbildare från universitetet den lärarstuderande på VFU-platsen.Under besöket genomför i regel den lärarstuderande ett utbildningsmoment med barnen/eleverna där den besökande universitetslärarens observation av undervisningsmomentet tillsammans med information från VFU-läraren och den studerande utgör det bedömningsunderlag som lärarutbildaren behöver för att kunna examinera den lärarstuderandes VFU. Bedömningen, som görs mot kursplanens lärandemål, sker i det s.k. VFU-samtalet där parterna deltar och som vanligen hålls efter den studerandes undervisningsmoment.Det är inte ett tvång att dokumentera den lärarstuderandes prestation och samspel med barnen/eleverna, vilket medför en viss rättsosäkerhet eftersom en ny bedömning utifrån det genomförda undervisningstillfället inte är möjlig.

As a school welfare officer you are often alone of having your perspective and must struggle to preserve that perspective. At the same time, there are very little defined what role a social worker should have in a school. This makes it nessesary to form and develop your role of profession independently. According to the Swedish school law, the schools are not required to employ a welfare officer. This makes the school welfare officer inferior to the other branches of occupation in school.
