Our purpose in this paper is to examine if there is any profitability for a company with a factory in the timber industry to invest in a combined heat and power, CHP. Based on analysis and the results that the paper generates, we will give Derome AB a suggestion on how it is a profitable investment or not to installing in a CHP.By investing in a CHP plant, you can get a high efficiency, which means that companies can use their resources more effectively. The Swedish wood industry has by-products of production that can be used for combustion in their boiler which is an advantage.The essay is a qualitative study where we have a case company, Derome AB. In this company, we interviewed two employees who have knowledge in the study. They have helped us to provide information and data about their business.We chose to use the pay-off- and the net present value method, NPV, to see if there are profitable advantages for the investment.

Gender balance within the business administration field at university level is an area that has gained increased attention in the last decade. As gender balance contributes positively to the scientific and educational achievements within all disciplines, many studies have tried to understand the decision-making processes of students when selecting a business specialisation. However, little attention has been devoted to the finance discipline although there is a remaining gender imbalance within the field at higher-level economic studies. This thesis was performed as a qualitative case study and is based on interviews with second-year bachelor students facing their choice of specialisation at the Stockholm School of Economics. Through an application of the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA), this study aims to examine factors that influence female business students' intentions to choose a specialisation.

Vid sin tillkomst är de flesta företag små. Av den anledning kan man anta att det, inom företaget, finns en huvudsaklig beslutsfattare som i slutändan står för de allra viktigaste besluten. Denna person borde således vara den som avgör huruvida ett företag ska initiera export, det vill säga han eller hon fattar det första internationaliseringsbeslutet. Beslutsfattarens entreprenörsdrag blir därför intressanta, då en person med sådan karaktär i större utsträckning torde sträva efter, söka och svara på exportstimuli.I denna uppsats undersöks beslutsfattarens inverkan på internationaliseringsprocessen i ett mindre svenskt producerande företag utifrån sju parametrar genom en fallstudie. Av dessa sju är tre parametrar sammanfattade i psykologiska faktorer vilka kopplas till beslutsfattarens riskvillighet, attityd och ambition.

Bakgrund och problem: Franchise som företagsform växer sig allt större och varumärkeskonceptet blir allt viktigare för möjlighet till expansion. Individer som drömmer om att driva eget företag, men i trygghet under ett gemensamt varumärke, är potentiella franchisetagare. Vår undersökning behandlar vilka motiv som driver franchisetagare att ingå franchiseavtal och vi ställer oss frågan om varumärket påverkar valet. För att undersöka varumärkets värde för franchisetagare använts en modell för varumärkeskapital, som syftar på att mäta värdet av ett varumärke.Syfte: Uppsatsens syfte är att ge läsaren förståelse kring hur franchisetagare värderar varumärket vid valet att ingå franchiseavtal. Vidare ger studien en insikt i vilka motiv som ligger bakom valet av företag och om varumärket är en påverkande faktor.Metod: Uppsatsens ansats är kvalitativ och undersökningen har genomförts med hjälp av personliga djupintervjuer från franchisetagare.

Handelsbanken var den bank som hanterade 1990-talskrisen bäst. Med anledning av dagens konjunkturläge ämnar vi undersöka vilket förtroende de svenska storbankerna har och hur de arbetar för att stärka sina kundrelationer.MetodDetta är en helhetsanalys av Handelsbankens verksamhet där jämförelser genomförs med övriga svenska storbanker; Nordea, Swedbank och SEB. Analysen är övervägande kvalitativ, baserad på information publicerad av bankerna själva, finanstidningar, finansanalytiker samt material från egen intervju.Empiri & AnalysHandelsbanken har etablerat en stark företagskultur i sin decentraliserade organisation. Det finns en låg risktolerans och kostnadsmedvetenhet som genomsyrar hela organisationen.

Psykologiska    processer    där    identifikationen    med    jaget    och medvetandets innehåll upphör kan tänkas utgöra en hälsosam motvikt i  dagens  samhällskultur  där  centrering  kring  jaget,  stress,  depression och meningsförlust, ofta förekommer. Självtranscendens har beskrivits som en expansion av medvetandet och en rörelse bortom gränserna för ens självmedvetenhet och självuppfattning, antingen tillfälligtvis eller som  en  relativt  stabil  perspektivförändring  som  utvecklats  under livsloppet.  Sex  personer  mellan  54  och  100  år  med  erfarenhet  av självtranscendenta   perspektiv   intervjuades   i   studien   i   syfte   att induktivt  generera  mer  kunskap  om  hur  självtranscendens  kunde upplevas, utvecklas och förändra en människas perspektiv. Genom en tematisk    analys    framkom    att    en    regelbunden    aktivering    av självtranscendenta     medvetandetillstånd     särskilt     inverkade     på utvecklingen   och   kopplades   till   principer   om   neuroplasticitet. Självtranscendensutvecklingen     medförde     även     förändringar     i respondenternas perception av inre och yttre fenomen exempelvis vad gäller   känslighet,   jagupplevelse   och   möjlighet   till   distans   och objektivitet, vilket även bidrog till psykologisk hälsa..

This study investigated a local aspect of theSwedish elementary school modernization process between the years 1871-1882.Previous studies have been drawn from the school inspectors own reports andshow that the schoolboards housed a negative and resentful attitude towardsreforms and the school inspectors often felt that the parish priests were moreinclined to changes than the schoolboards themselves.  Other research on elementary schoolmodernization has stressed the matching grants as a major cause of developmentand further establishment. In this study, however, a schoolboards own notes inthe form of meeting protocols during an eleven year period as well as a letterby a priest Erik Lundberg, Redogörelseför skolhusfrågan i Tierp dated 6 October 1880 were analyzed to see if theprevious explanation of school modernization, in particular with regard to thereluctance to change by the schoolboards goes to demonstrate and confirm. Theresults of this study have shown that even if the schoolboards do notimmediately follow the school inspectors instructions, it seems not primarilybeen due to resentment. Reforms within the school world are well known forbeing time-consuming but for the current period, as this study concerns andwithin this specific parish there were conflicts of interest which are notshown when only the inspector?s accounts and reports are examined.

During the 90?s, several reforms took place in order to change the educational system. The reforms intended to increase the freedom of choice and to facilitate the start-up process for driving independent schools. A broad alliance of political parties from left to right supported these reforms. Twenty years later, the independent schools constitute a substantial part of schools in Sweden.

When a company seeks to enter a new market, the multiple choices of possible new business relationships exist. Further, establishing new relationships is a time-consuming procedure associated with high uncertainty and high costs. Hence, if the firm does not succeed in pinpointing the most suitable business partners to collaborate with, the firm may both forfeit other possible good relationships, as well as resources invested. Based on this notion the aim of this thesis is to explore how a manufacturing company can base the selection of future dealership Business-to-Business partners by evaluating indicators of a possible business relationship?s potential to become successful. The choice of focusing on the Business-to-Business relationship between a manufacturer and a dealership company originates from being influenced by the issues facing the Swedish agricultural machinery manufacturer Väderstad-Verken AB, who is putting attention to explore the US market.

The advancements of Internet have contributed to the expansion of social networks and new communities online where people are given an opportunity to get help and support. An important reason why people join these groups and organizations is to share their experiences, meet people in a similar situation and get support. Social media is nowadays an important part of our society. In this study, we will focus on investigating the interaction in closed communities online and blogs. The study aims to investigate whether social media and social networks online can be a support for young adults with cancer in the same way as physical meeting places.

The aim of this research is to examine the Göteborg International Film Festival Fund (GIFFF, 1998?2011) as a part of the festival's overall operations, to provide answers to questions about if/how the Fund can be understood as an expression of the festival's fundamental values, and how the Fund can be recognized within the festival's strategic development. The GIFFF is also discussed in relation to contemporary academic studies that interpret Western film funds for the developing countries ? such as Hubert Bals Fund and Fond Sud Cinéma ? as an expression of Eurocentrism.The investigation is based on the contemporary film festival research, previous academic studies on Göteborg International Film Festival, the festival?s printed material ? such as programs and press releases ? as well as interviews with the former festival director Gunnar Bergdahl, who initiated the Fund, and festival editor Ulf Sigvardson, who ran the Fund during its final years of existence.The conclusions are: The Fund's objectives ? such as to support filmmakers and film schools in the developing countries, and also to screen their films at the festival ? can be seen as a broader interpretation of the vision that was determined by the festival founders, that the festival should be a platform for independent filmmaking and also help screen the films that otherwise would not reach the Swedish audience. Also, the Fund was a significant part of the festival's expansion strategies during the 1990s.

Bakgrund:Den svenska detaljhandeln har de senaste tjugo åren präglats av en strukturomvandling och andelen enskilda och oberoende detaljhandlare har stadigt minskat. Orsaken till detta har främst varit de stora kedjornas expansion och tillväxt inom framförallt sällanköpshandeln. Syfte:Syftet med denna uppsats är dels att utveckla kunskap i hur de enskilda detaljhandlarna kan differentiera sig mot de stora professionella kedjorna och på så sätt kunna konkurrera mer rättvist mot kedjorna samt att ge rekommendationer till en enskild detaljhandlare. Metod:För att uppnå vårt syfte har vi genomfört en kvalitativ studie där vi intervjuat en enskild detaljhandlare och en professionell kedja och sedan jämfört hur dessa arbetar med sitt sortiment och sin marknadsföring. Slutsats:För att den enskilda detaljhandlaren ska kunna differentiera sig mot en professionell kedja är en slutsats att den enskilda detaljhandlarens kunskap inom området är av stor vikt.

To better understand how various factors affect the establishment of forest and trees around the tree line-ecotone, this study was conducted in Troms County, Norway. The altitude of different forest and tree limits together with the surrounding vegetation type were collected during August 2011. Comparisons of the collected data were made with previously collected data from the same sites conducted 1914 and 1915. On average the forest limit has expanded with 26 meters in altitude, however, an expansion is not statistically significant for the whole area. The tree limit has significantly expanded in altitude.

By using pollen analysis and 14C-dating, the history of vegetation and land use at the old shieling place (Sw: fäbodställe) Öjingsvallen in Ängersjö parish, central Sweden, was studied. The aim of the study was to answer the following questions: 1) When was Öjingsvallen established as a shieling place? 2) What was the land use at Öjingsvallen? 3) Was the use of Öjingsvallen as a shieling place affected by the agricultural crisis in the 14th and 15th centuries? 4) Is there any relation between the establishment and land use of Öjingsvallen as a shieling place and the historically known increase in the number of shieling sites known to have taken place in the 16th and 17th centuries? 5) Was the use of Öjingsvallen as a shieling place affected by the iron production in the area? According to the study, Öjingsvallen was probably established as a shieling place during the period A.D. 300-700. The main land use at this time was forest grazing.

Jag har utfört mitt examensarbete hos Turnhill AB [1] på Hedensbyn i Skellefteå. Syftet med examensarbetet var att dokumentera nätverket, samt ordna upp bland kablarna i nätverksrummet, och att komma med en offert på två VPN-lösningar som skulle kunna implementeras. I dokumenteringen hade jag problem till en början med att lista ut vilka enheter som var kopplade till vilka portar i brandväggen och switchen, vilket löste sig med lite tid. För att underlätta detta arbete för framtida ändringar så gjorde jag två dokument, ett som förklarar vilka enheter som är kopplade till vilka portar i brandväggen/switchen, och ett som visar hur kablarna mellan patchpanelen och switchen är kopplade, och med framtida uppdateringar av dessa listor ska det inte vara några stora problem att hålla ordning.I mitt undersökande av lämpliga VPN-tjänster så fann jag ett gratisprogram vid namn Logmein Hamachi, som fyllde upp kraven med råge. I samråd med min handledare så valde vi att implementera denna, vilket gick utan problem.
