This paper aims to investigate the terms and conditions of a lesbian gaze and a lesbian spectatorship from a feminist and queer theoretical point of view. The empirical material consists of three paintings by the American artist Romaine Brooks (1874-1970).  Brooks was based in Paris in the early 20th century where she was surrounded by a group of intellectual and usually cross-dressing lesbians. The women within this context are the ones depicted in Brooks? paintings and this makes her one of the first artists in modernity to openly portray lesbian and cross-dressing women.

The aim of this essay is to examine what happens when Veronica Roths Divergent-trilogy is read with a lutheran theological pre-understanding. Using reader-response theory and lutheran theology written for and in a post-modern context, three lutheran figures of thought are presented as one way of understanding the trilogy. The conclusion is that it is possible to reveal lutheran ideas concerning justification, guilt, forgiveness, mercy and self-sacrificing love in the Divergent-story. .

In a press release from the Swedish church it says that the pressure from people who are in need is increasing on the deacons in Sweden and that it?s getting higher each year. This study contains the search of knowledge about the deacons of the Swedish church, if they actually feel an increasing pressure and in what way, how they are handling the possible pressure from people in need, if that pressure is too high and if the deacons feel that they can assist the people seeking their help. The study also aim to provide more knowledge about the deacons experiences of the opportunities and boundaries (or obstacles) they meet in their line of work and how they handle the boundaries when/if they can?t provide the help that the people need.

Det övergripande syftet för denna studie är att problematisera GIS som ett positivistiskt instrumentför samhällsplanering och geografiforskning samt praktiskt anamma en kritisk, queerteoretisk ochkvalitativ tillämpning på GIS-baserade analyser. För att detta ska vara genomförbart kräver det enkvalitativ analys av hur människor utanför det härskande narrativet faktiskt använder och uppleverstadsrum och vilka konsekvenser de normativa strukturerna har genom att analysera hurhomosexuella män i Stockholm upplever och använder stadsrum. Genom en seriefokusgruppssamtal med homosexuella män bosatta i Stockholm har studien visat hur kvalitativadata kan inkorporeras och vara underlag för kvalitativa analyser i GIS. Studien har visat hur enepistemologisk och praktiskt integration av kritisk geografi och GIS kan bidra till en mer nyanseradbild av GIS. Vidare visar studien hur ett GIS kan användas för att visualisera maktförhållanden ochkritiskt utmana det härskande narrativet.

The aim of this paper is to analyse how subject, gender and sexuality is constructed in the book Dårfinkar & dönickar (1984), by Ulf Stark. In relation to this I have also analysed how the main character, Simone, develops from being a child into becoming a teenager.Queertheory is the theoretical basis of this paper. Queer theory questions heteronormativity and aims to dissolve conceptions and notions that function in an excluding and limiting way. The novel is written in a tone of irony, allowing for many of thecharacters to be viewed as caricatures. The theories and methods I use are drawn from genderstudies and queer theory. Queer theorist Judith Butler, and the concepts of performativity, interpellation, genealogy and the heterosexual matrix, are of central importance for my analysis.

Jag fokuserar på hur kön/genus och begär kan ses som betydelsebärande konstruktioner i skapandet av den hetero- och den homosexuella familjen, samt den heterosexuella normens makt att begripliggöra handlingar, beteenden och kategorier.Jag analyserar min empiri, SOU 2001:10, med hjälp av feministiska och queer teoretiska utgångspunkter, där inspiration hämtats från dessa teoriers konstruktivistiska och dekonstruktivistiska ansatser. Det undersöks med frågeställningarna:- Hur går det att förstå och tolka dramapedagogers erfarenhet av att arbeta normkritiskt? - Vilka strategier går det att finna i dramapedagogers normkritiska arbete? - Vilka styrkor för att arbeta normkritiskt går det att finna inom dramapedagogiken? - Finns det några svårigheter i mötet mellan dramapedagogik och normkritisk pedagogik?Undersökningen är kvalitativ med en hermeneutisk ansats som utgår från queer- och intersektionalitetsteorier och anti-opressive education.

The purpose of this study is to increase understanding of how nursing home staff at dementia care facilities interpret, treat and manages sexual behavior of patients. Four group interviews were made with a total of thirteen participants from three different dementia care facilities. The collected material was processed and thematized in pursuance of the research questions of the study. The results were analysed using three concepts from queer theory; heteronormativity, the heterosexual matrix and power, as well as an article about how nursing home staff constructs actions of patients. The results showed that staff member?s assessments about the patient?s sexual behaviours depended on their posture towards the norm of what is considered to be acceptable.

Sweden has an active and growing culture of feminist comic book artists that use comedy as a mean of disseminating political ideas and critic. In this essay I do a reparative reading of Sara Granér?s comic book All I Want for Christmas is planekonomi in order to find out if it advocates alternative orders and/or ways of expression. By exploring what the comic book does to me as a reader and how, using the term ?skev? ? a hybrid of queer that examines normativity not strictly tied to sexuality ? and gulesque theory ? a mix of feminism, cuteness, the grotesque and riot grrrl ?, I show that the comic book, through the use of comedy, works as a trojan My Little Pony, reclaiming the girly franchise, while challenging several so-called dichotomies, such as: femininity/masculinity; youth/adult; high art/kitsch.

The aim of the study was to examine which approach future social workers have regarding specific competence in the meeting with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer clients. Previous research shows that LGBTQ people have a low confidence towards social services, police and courts and say they face discrimination and degrading treatment to a greater extent than the heterosexual population. Research shows that education and better skills of LGBTQ culture among professionals can change the situation.The essay is based on a model of cultural competence in working with sexual minorities and people with a transgender expression. The model defines the meaning of an LGBTQ perspective and is designed to improve social work with LGBTQ clients.The study is quantitative and empirical data consists of 203 survey responses from students with a long experience of the social work education. The analysis of the results is based on the cultural competence three principles; attitudes, knowledge and skills.
