I have in this study examined, through qualitative interviews, how adults with foreign background that are pupils in adult education in Sweden, understand the concepts democracy and dictatorship. Their expressed understandings have been compared with their former life experiences as well as with the aim of the social studies to create a qualitative understanding of essential social concepts. My starting point is theories about the adult in leaning processes. It has been assumed that the adult interprets the world much through former life experiences. I have also relied on the idea that having a qualitative, more scientific, understanding of essential subjects is important for the adult as a member of society and participator in the on-going political debate.

This thesis aim to explain which part sound and music possess as a branding tool. We consider this to be of relevance since there is very limited reseach conducted on the subject. To fulfill the purpose of this thesis we have focused on three main issues. Our ambition is to describe this subject from a marketing perspective with the brand in focus.

Det finns mängder med faktorer som påverkar en texts läsbarhet. I denna rapport kommer flertalet faktorer undersökas inför skapandet av en ny läsbarhetsalgoritm. Målet är att denna algoritm ska vara bättre än LIX som är en algoritm konstruerad för svenska texter. Målet uppnåddes med en liten marginal men ytterligare förbättringar kan och bör implementeras..

Healthcare staff working within emergency care must often handle extreme and emotional situations. Most of the certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) will some time during their professionally active lives confront with events that are difficult to handle and for some these events will lead to more or less serious traumatic distress and in certain cases develop post traumatic stress disorder symptoms. Many studies demonstrate that staff working in similar stress related environment runs larger risk in order to get stress related symptoms. The aim with the study was to describe the experiences around difficult work related events among CRNAs. The study was implemented as a descriptive study with qualitative run-up via a questionnaire with open questions relevant for the study's aim.

Denna rapport beskriver konstruktionsarbetet av en testrigg som ska användas för provning av brunnslock. Arbetet är utfört åt Brunnspecialisten Sverige AB som säljer egenutvecklade brunnslock tillverkade av glasfiberarmerad plast. Dessa brunnslock ska godkännas enligt europeiska standarder och måste då bland annat genomgå belastningsprov.Anledningen till arbetet och att testriggen behövs är att de tidigare standarderna har blivit reviderade och därmed har provningarna blivit mer avancerade och ett automatiserat system kommer att krävas då det i vissa av fallen handlar om högcykelutmattning.Arbetet har utgått från den standard som reglerar provning av brunnslock. Detta ledde till en konceptstudie där olika förslag på utformningen togs fram och utvärderades. Beräkningar gjordes för att dimensionera komponenterna till testriggen för att säkerställa hållfastheten hos denna.

The aim of this Master thesis is to study how management, teachers and librarians at the university college Swedish school of sport and health sciences (GIH) view information literacy (IL) as a standard in higher education. I have used a sociocultural theoretical perspective, as the focus being on co-operation within the institutional context. The following questions are focused on: Of what importance are the control documents concerning IL as a standard in the educational program? How do the respondents view the value of, and the responsibility for, IL as a standard in the educational program? What are the conditions for co-operation at GIH to reach the standards of the higher education act? The methodology used is qualitative case study. Six qualitative interviews were carried out in order to describe the attitudes of the management, teachers and librarians related to this subject.

Byggserviceverksamhet är något som många företag ute i den svenska byggbranschen håller på med, men i olika stor uträckning och med skillnad i kvalité på utfört arbete. Affärsområde är under ständig utveckling, detta för att både klara beställarnas men även samhällets förväntningar. I och med detta måste företaget förbättra och kartlägga det nuvarande arbetet med olika ramavtalskunder, för att vara mindre känslig för uppsägningar och ge högre kundnöjdhet.Denna rapport kommer hjälpa Dipart att hitta utvecklingsmöjligheter och se saker från en ny synvinkel, men även för att kunna uppfylla beställarnas förväntningar inom byggservice. Denna rapport handlar om utformning av en energideklaration för fastigheter i Sverige. Deklarationen har sedan tillämpats på två bostäder. Enligt EU:s direktiv om energideklarationer skall byggnader som renoveras, säljs samt nybyggs genomgå en typ av kontroll av en energiexpert. Detta för att få ett dokument på hur bra eller dålig byggnaden är ur energisynpunkt. Lagen angående dessa deklarationer skall enligt regeringens ladugårdsremiss träda i kraft den 1 oktober 2006.

The token economy program, which is a method for behaviour modification, has been used worldwide for different groups within different settings in order to vhange behaviour.Research has found the token economy program to be effective. However, research is limited to quantitative and experimental studies, and Swedish research in this field is brief. Nevertheless, the program is used in several institutions n Sweden. A qualitative study in Swedish settings could therefore be useful. The purpose of this paper is to examine the experiences of a token economy program using qualitative interviews.

Dagens förskolor har en rad olika krav från brukare, beslutsfattare och samhälle. Hur kan man planera en byggnad som tillfredställer alla? I denna rapport försöker vi utifrån litteraturstudier, studiebesök, fallstudier och byggtekniska krav gestalta en förskola i den planerade stadsdelen Vega, Haninge kommun. Stadsdelen Vega är en del i en satsning från Haninge kommun som ämnar skapa en mer stadslik bebyggelse. Vega kommer att projekteras utifrån principerna för en trädgårdsstad med mycket grönska och stadslika kvarter.I vår rapport har vi utgått ifrån kraven för passivhus för att skapa en energieffektiv byggnad.

The aim of this study was to examine the view that officials involved in youth unemployment have on the significance of collaboration between organizations working with unemployed youth. The study was based on nine qualitative interviews with officials from PES offices and from municipalities such as job coaches. The results were analyzed based on qualitative content analysis. The analysis led to two different themes: conditions and the individual. In the analysis two different theories were used, new institutionalism and Lipsky's theory about street-level bureaucrats.

Purpose: My purpose of this study was to examine the factors that motivate Swedes to travel to Egypt and Thailand. To answer the question, I have used two questions.What are the factors that motivate Swedes to travel to Egypt and Thailand?What is the motive for Swedes choose to travel to destinations such as Egypt and Thailand?Method: The method I am using  is the qualitative method. The qualitative method has been processed through interviews of Swedish travelers, the Swedish travel agencies as well as Egypt and Thailand tourist agencies specializing in trips to Egypt and Thailand via phone and e-mail.Theory: The theory I am using are motivators and push-pull factors in achieving an understanding of the factors that influence choice for Swedes to travel to destinations such as Egypt and Thailand.Empiricism: The goal was to get a much more qualitative data from the response from the Swedish travel agencies, Egypt and Thailand tourist agency and Swedish travelers who have traveled to both of these destinations.Result: What I have come up with in my study is that the factors that motivate Swedish travelers to travel to Egypt and Thailand, is the warm climate, sun and sea, culture, variety, the cheap price situation and that there are activities for different age groups. This has led to the heat in both Egypt and Thailand has attracted Swedish travelers to travel to both destinations.

This report shows a qualitative study on how six young adults in the ages between 20-30 who are students at Linnaeus University in Kalmar percieve their news consumption habits and their use of news media on digital platforms. The aim of the study is to examine whether the six students feel the strogest connection with the press where they were raised or where they currently live, why they choose to use the media platforms they do and what meaning the use of the media bare to the students. We have seen a lack of information concerning why young people choose to consume news online instead of in printed media.The study is focused on theories concerning what affects people in their choice of media platforms and channels. This report shows that geographic nature, the quality of the content and which political ideology the daily press is founded on does not affect the respondents choice of media. Our study shows that the most important factor for the respondents is that the platform is easily accesssible and flexible.
