This bachelor thesis? purpose is to investigate how purchase librarians work with foreign language collection management. Since about 15% of the citizens of Sweden are born abroad or have a foreign background, the subject of investigation becomes relevant because it touches a wide user group of the public library.Interviews were conducted with four librarians responsible for purchasing of foreign literature. The purpose of these interviews was to investigate which underlying strategies and thoughts are used as a basis for purchasing.Since the library act does not include guidelines regarding the content of the foreign literature collection, how is the literature chosen and to what purpose?As a theoretical framework a self-developed model was used to categorize the foreign literature into its different functions.

The aim of this littrature review has been to describe how you can satisfy the need of nourishment for older people who suffer from dementia. Data has been retrieved by searches in Academic Search Elite, Sience Direct, Blackwell, PubMed and in the Journal Vård i Norden. The studies show that most of the people with dementia have a hard time to satisfy the nourishment. The results show that through different preventive measurement you can improve the nourishment for these people, to set the table, play calm music and to have a table companion. By taking the food oneself created a good meal environment and the individually need was provided for.

För flitigamusikanvändare finns en tydlig nackdel vid musikanvändning på YouTube, eftersom tjänsten ursprungligen är skapad för enbart hantering av videoklipp. I denna uppsats har det undersökts hur YouTube kan förbättras för användaresom nyttjar tjänsten till uppspelning av musik. Studien grundas på litteraturstudier och en förundersökning gjord på 34 personer, där 97 % använder YouTube till musiklyssning. Genom att tillämpa metoder somanvänts för studien har det blivit möjligt att ta reda på vad som värdesätts vid organisering och uppspelning av musik.

I?ve chosen not to calculate the costs of buildings. The condition from the beginning is a production of pork with 10.000 pigs per year. Instead of buying piglets, I?ve calculated on breeding them and for that purpose I will need 440 sows. I?ve investigated the working hours and given examples of how to decries these. The aim of this Master´s thesis is to explore how public libraries in a successful way can work in projects with young people. It intends to point out different factors that in a legible way affect the accomplishment and outcome of the project. Another purpose of the study is to uncover the various approaches existing within the projects towards young people and to find out why it is seen as important to work with youngsters, considering the hard work that it requires and the reluctance of the young to visit the library. The examination is based upon eight different and fulfilled projects. Information about these has been received through project descriptions, project reports and documents describing applications for economical benefits.

The purpose of this study is to find out teachers view on manipulatives as a way to concretize a certain mathematical content and to highlight knowledge and experiences within the range of using manipulatives to concretize. By answering the questions below different approaches a teacher may have towards the manipulatives and how that may impact on student?s learning will also be discussed in comparison to mainly traditional and socially constructive theories of learning.What is the teachers view on manipulatives as a way to concretize?What purpose do they have when using manipulatives?According to the teachers, what does it mean to concretize a certain mathematical content?According to the teachers, what connection is there between manipulatives and concretizing?Through interviews and observations conclusions can be made that the teachers are in general positive towards using manipulatives as a way to concretize a certain mathematical content although the definition of what a manipulative is differ somewhat between the teachers. The teachers working with manipulatives do it in a well thought out fashion but more research is needed to furthermore define the purpose of using manipulatives. Few countries spend so much time concretizing and working with manipulatives as Sweden do, but still Sweden score below the OECD-average on the mathematical PISA-tests.

The purpose of the project was to make a system that could extract data from a mobile eye tracker and make it comparable with data from visual stimuli. The produced system was programmed in Java and provided all the necessary parts that were required to achieve the purpose. Föreliggande arbete inriktar sig på kommunikation mellan sångare och medmusiker i ensemblesammanhang utifrån det multimodala och designteoretiska perspektivets syn på kommunikation och lärandeförutsättningar. Med hjälp av videoobservationer av min egen kommunikation i en ensemble på högskolenivå har jag analyserat fram vilka olika semiotiska resurser som används samt intentionerna bakom dem. Resultatet visar att kommunikationen ensemblemedlemmarna emellan tillkommer först efter en tid in i lärandeprocessen och att det, för egen del, är sången som verkar som den främsta kommunikatören i det här sammanhanget.  Dynamik, tydlighet och lekfullhet skvallrar om säkerhet eller osäkerhet i form och melodi samt fungerar som en vägledning om var jag befinner mig i lärandeprocessen. I diskussionen tar jag bland annat upp hur den första ensemblelektionen byggs upp i enighet med det multimodala perspektivets syn på bra lärandeförutsättningar samt vad kroppsspråk har för betydelse för kommunikation i ensemblesammanhang. .

The aim of the study was to examine how Swedish tabloid journalism presented the contestants in the Swedish version of the reality show Idol 2009. We wanted to see which approaches tabloid news papers use when constructing the public identities of them. We have used text analysis to examine 37 articles and nine front pages with focus on the words, propositions, comparisons and parables that describe four of the contestants. In addition we have looked at myths and connotations shown in the pictures by using a semiotic analysis. The results show that the Swedish tabloids tend to describe the contestants in relation to their performances and personalities.

Simplicity, intimacy, freedom and one single threadcharacterize the knitting technique.In my project, I have studied ways of creating three-dimensional shape and structure using single threads and various knitting techniques. I applied my ideas in a collaboration with the singer Sofia Karlsson. The focus has been to design a portable object that can be used in pictures for the cover and promotion of her upcoming album.The material I studied, processed and used in creating the three-part object was linen. In the center stands a collar, that changes expression depending on how it is worn and which side is turned towards the outside. The collar interacts with a cylinder for her hands and a hairnet.
