To manage the industry?s need of wood assortments in a optimal and cost effective way the forest companies need to have knowledge of the actual standing volume and the yield of the planned clear cuts. The mean volume of the trunk is also important since it is important for the contractors prices. Today the total volume are estimated either with Näslund (1940) or Brandels (1990) functions of volumes, and the yield is estimated with Rune Ollas (1980) function for trunks and stands. The purpose of this study has been to answer the following questions: How good is the yield forecast with data collected with currently used methods? How well can the yield forecasts became with data collected according to the instructions? How well can the yield forecast be with data collected according to the instruction and calculated with the program Aptan for theoretical bucking? The study has been initiated and financed by SCA Skog AB.The material consisted of a number of randomly selected objects ready for clear cut.

This report describes how a terminal for Telias Telesvar could be designed. Telesvar terminal will show in a display if anyone called you and show the incoming number. It will also play the spoken message in a built in speaker.

The aetiology of osteochondrosis (OC) is known to be complex and multifactorial. The occurrence of bone fragments in joints and their connection to osteochondral disease are no exception. In the hock and stifle joint of the horse this type of lesion has generally been considered to be of osteochondral origin, while the process behind these fragments in the fetlock joint has been up for discussion. The objective of this study was to determine the frequency and the localisation of OC in Swedish warmblooded horses. In order to do so all radiographs of stifle, hock and fetlock joints performed on Swedish warmblooded horses during the period of 1992-1999 at Regiondjursjukhuset in Helsingborg were examined and the material was divided into two groups.

Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka om erfarna lärare följer läroplanens intentioner om att använda sig av olika arbetssätt och arbetsformer för att främja elevernas kunskapsutveckling i matematik. För att nå detta syfte använde jag en etnografisk inspirerad fallstudie som vetenskaplig metod. De datainsamlingsmetoder som har använts är observationer och intervjuer med fyra erfarna lärare från två skolor.Resultatet visade att lärarnas undervisning innehöll en rad gemensamma nämnare. De betonade alla en undervisning som innebär gemensamma genomgångar, repetition av kunskaper, sifferträning, utantillinlärning och gemensamma samtal i matematik i helklass och i mindre grupper. Lärarna var överens om att ordning och reda i klassrummet var viktigt för elevens inlärning. Möbleringen i klassrummen var liknande i klassrummen.

Using biometrics as a means for verifying the identity of a person increases both the security and the convenience of the systems. By using yourself to verify your identity such risks as lost keys and misplaced passwords are removed and by virtue of this, convenience is also increased. The most mature and well-developed biometric technique is fingerprint recognition. Fingerprints are unique for each individual and they do not change over time, which is very desirable in this application.

Mitt syfte med denna studie var att synliggöra tre rutinerade SO-lärares uppfattningar om hur vi skall få eleverna att minnas bättre och vad de har för syn på olika lärstilar. Med utgångspunkt från denna frågeställning gjordes en kvalitativ intervjustudie med tre rutinerade lärare i en kommun i norra Sverige. Undersökningen var relativt liten och man kunde inte dra generella slutsatser från denna studie. Däremot framkommer det att dessa tre lärare hade samma grundsyn på lärande och relationer. Resultatet gav vid handen att de förespråkade en relationsinriktad nivå med eleverna.

This report describes the construction work of a radar antenna for the radar systemCARABAS. CARABAS is a long wave airborne ground radar that has been developed bySAAB Microwave Systems and will now be mounted on a small helicopter, Schweizer 300.The antenna should be able to fold up and down. When the radar is in use the antenna islowered and under transport, start and landing the antenna is folded up. An emergency dropfunction should also be included in the design of CARABAS III.The extent of this report includes construction of the antenna, frame structure attached to thehelicopter, mechanism for folding the antenna up and down and mechanism for emergencydrop function. The mechanical design of the antenna and frame structure is based on modaland stress analysis, vibration measurement of Schweizer 300 and frequency analysis, andcalculations regarding aerodynamic drag and mechanics.The exciting frequencies of the helicopter and accelerations at those frequencies weredetermined by vibration measurement and frequency analysis.

This retrospective study aimed to examine differences at age fivebetween twenty-six internationally adopted and twenty-six Swedish-bornchildren with cleft lip and palate regarding age of surgery, speech andintervention. Correlation between age of surgery and speechvariables andgender differences was examined. Blind assessment of audio recordedsentence repetition or naming of words was performed by two speechpathologists. Soft palate was closed significantly later for the study groupthan the control group. Age at closure of hard palate did not differ.

Denna uppsats handlar om alfabetiseringsundervisning av vuxna andraspråksinlärare. Undersökningens syfte är att ta reda på några lärares pedagogiska val i sin alfabetiseringsundervisning, vad dessa val grundar sig på samt vad lärarna anser vara befrämjande undervisning för dessa elever. Undersökningen har en fenomenologisk infallsvinkel och består av kvalitativa intervjuer med fyra lärare på två olika skolor. Resultatet visar att lärarna anser det vara viktigt med hemklassrum, att de utgår ifrån elevernas verklighet och använder helst autentiskt material och bilder, samt betonar att repetition och konkretisering är viktiga pedagogiska metoder liksom förmågan att sätta sig in i elevernas situation. Lärarna anser att det som befrämjar elevernas inlärning är tillgång till modersmålslärare och speciallärare, en trygg arbetsmiljö och att lärarna ser eleverna som kompetenta individer.

In modern dairy production the milking frequency is increased in some herds due to introducing of automatic milking systems or the farmers decision to milk high producing dairy cows more than two times a day. With more frequent milkings the milk yield increases while the content of fat and protein decreases. However, how the composition of protein is influenced is not fully evaluated. The purpose of this study was therefore to see if a higher milking frequency had any impact on the milk production and especially on the protein composition. This study was conducted as a half udder experiment.

This study was conducted on a property with a thinning machine team. The purpose was to investigate in which machine, the harvester or the forwarder, that caused most damage to the trees in six different stands. Different factors, related to the damage frequency in the stands, were checked out. For example: basal area per hectare, thinning strength, tree diameter and the rate of production. The harvester drivers were also interviewed about how, when and why stem damages occur and how to minimize them. The study stated that 4.3 percent of the trees were damaged. Out of these 88 percent was caused by the harvester and the rest, 12 percent, by the forwarder..

The histiocytic diseases are generally rare in dogs and not much is known about the disease. The disease complex that includes both a reactive form and a tumour form, is however common in certain breeds, among them the Bernese Mountain Dog. As the literature is very limited on the subject of histiocytic diseases, my aim with this thesis has been to gather current knowledge of these diseases. I have also attempted to estimate the frequency of the diseases among the Swedish Bernese Mountain Dogs and investigate if they appear to be more common among certain families..

Detecting small signals with a comparator demands that the total voltage offset is lower than the actual signal. The total offset includes the voltage offset in the comparator and the voltage offset that is created by the offset currents that flows thru the load at the comparators input. The goal with this comparator that has been developed has been that it will have a total voltage offset at maximum 500 uV. The comparator does not need to be extremely fast or does not need to operate in a big frequency area. To have all the flexibility that is needed a full custom technique is used.

The purpose of this paper has been to examine the question whether accountants differ in their auditing depending on their individual characteristics. We have summarized our own theory based on previous research and our own ideas. To conduct this purpose we used a deductive method. Our findings from the study show that we cannot exclude the possibility that accountants vary in their auditing depending on their individual characteristics. The answering frequency to our survey was only 47 %, and this may have affected the outcome of our research.
