Public service vs Kommersiell TV. SVT, TV4-gruppen och MTG: En kvalitativ fallstudie om de ledande aktörerna pÄ den svenska TV-marknaden och deras marknadsorientering.

The Swedish TV broadcasting market is constantly changing together with the players in it. The questionto be answered by this paper is how the players in the market handle these changes and to what extentthe players are changing the market. Also, are there any differences between the public service andcommercial players in this aspect? The purpose of this paper is to create a better understanding of theSwedish broadcasting market and its player's market orientation. Through case studies of the three mainbroadcasting companies, SVT, TV4-gruppen and MTG, the market is analyzed from their perspective.The conclusions from the analysis show that there are differences in the market orientation betweenpublic service and commercial players, where the commercial companies are more market driven..

Biblioteket IRL och URL. Om bibliotekswebbars relation till omvÀrlden och det fysiska biblioteket

The aim of this thesis is to explore the relationship between the surrounding world and the library with respect to the library?s need to provide a Library 2.0 web site. We also explore the relationship between the physical and the virtual library. Our research objects are the public libraries of Stockholm and the UmeÄ region, that maintain the web sites Biblioteket.se and minabibliotek.se respectively. By applying Dorte Skot-Hansen's theory of rationales we found that the Stockholm public library is acting in accordance with the experience rationale, whereas the libraries of UmeÄ are influenced by the instrumental rationale.

The purpose of this master?s thesis is to study an electronic reference service from a user perspective. By qualitative interviews with eight students the thesis examines their information behaviour, why and when they use the service, the user?s experiences of the service and the communication with the librarian. The users have all used the Swedish electronic reference service FrÄga biblioteket ? Forskningsbibliotek.

Kampen om den unga publiken : public service kanalerna - TV4 - övriga kommersiella kanaler

Mitt examensarbete behandlar frÄgestÀllningen om hur synen pÄ ett bra barnprogram skiljer sig Ät hos public service kanalerna, TV4 och övriga kommersiella kanaler? Detta berör ocksÄ frÄgor om vem som egentligen avgör vad som Àr bra barnprogram; Àr det producenterna eller mottagarna? Jag har valt den hÀr frÄgestÀllningen dÀr för att jag har en nyfikenhet pÄ och ett intresse av hur barnprogrammen skiljer sig mellan kanalerna och hur de kommer att se ut i framtiden.Public Service syftar till att ge allmÀnheten en sÀrskild sorts berikande programutbud inom radio- eller teveverksamhet. Termen public service har flera olika betydelser; Ofta anvÀnds den för att beteckna de företag som finansieras av nÄgon slags tv-avgift, har ingen eller begrÀnsad reklam och/eller Àr statligt Àgda/kontrollerade.  Det Àr idag ett turbulent lÀge för Public service och trycket frÄn de kommersiella kanalerna har sannolikt en inverkan pÄ programverksamheten. Under arbetets gÄng har det slagit mig vilken stor inverkan producenter och inköpare har pÄ begreppet ?bra? underhÄllning. Jag har tittat pÄ befintliga barnprogram och gjort en semiotisk analys av dem.

Public service och sociala medier : En studie om hur redaktionerna pa? Morgonpasset i P3 och P3morgen anva?nder sociala medier som arbetsverktyg

The purpose of this study is to examine how the editorial staff from the Swedish radio program Morgonpasset i P3 and the Norwegian radio program P3morgen uses Facebook and Twitter and how they can use social media as a tool in the production. The purpose is also to examine how active both of the editorial staff are on Facebook and Twitter and which kind of language they use on Facebook and Twitter. The radio programs both work under a lot of similar conditions and are both controlled by public service in both countries. To conduct the study qualitative interviews was performed with the web editor Christoffer Malm from Morgonpasset i P3 and the radio presenter Silje Nordnes from P3morgen in combination with a quantitative content analysis. The study was conducted over a limited period of the autumn of 2013.

Relationer pÄ den industriella marknaden - faktorer som inverkar pÄ förtroende

The purpose with this study has been, based on different public and private procurement conditions, to measure if there are any significant differences in the business relations between public- and private institutional kitchens. Furthermore, to observe what important influencing factors there are to maintain and develop a relationship between a producer and customer. The result of the analysis shows that there are important factors that influences on the trust in the relationship between a producer and customer. These factors are product- and service exchange, communication, strategic purchase and social exchange. In this examination we have showed that there are differences in the relationship between public- and private customers.

Ett folkbibliotek och dess anvÀndare: anvÀndares uppfattningar av service relaterade till verksamhetsintentioner

The aim of this MA thesis is to examine how users regard and receive the services offered by a specific public library. We also examine what the conception of service means to the users and how they perceive this service being offered by the library. We look upon if and to what extent the service conception depends on contact with the library staff. The methods used are qualitative interviews and analyses of documents directing the library activities. The public library we have examined in this respect is the public library of VÀsterÄs.

This thesis is about the public library of Ulricehamn and the cultural activities at the library during the period from 1960 to 1998. We have focused on the study of the cultural activities. It begins with the foundation of the library of Ulricehamn and a historical background to it. It follows with the definitions of the public library and a historical background to the public library in Sweden. Then we present the goal of the public library in general and the goal of Ulricehamn's city library.

Nya medier möter gamla radion : Publikmedverkan i public service-radion nu och dÄ

Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats Àr att undersöka hur publikmedverkan förÀndrats i public service-radion i och med digitaliseringen. Publikmedverkan ska undersökas ur flera aspekter men med ett sÀrskilt fokus pÄ nya medieformer.Teori: DÄ en enskild relevant teori saknas för omrÄdet publikmedverkan inom public service-radion har tidigare forskning frÄn flera nÀrliggande omrÄden sammanstÀllts i en för uppsatsens syfte unik analysmodell. Denna modell konceptualiserar infrastrukturen för publikmedverkan i public service-radion. Den beskriver hur den tekniska utvecklingen och public service-uppdraget pÄverkar publikmedverkan och att det frÀmst Àr nya medier som anvÀnds för publikmedverkan.Metod: Uppsatsens empiriska undersökning bestÄr av en kvantitativ innehÄllsanalys som mÀter utrymmet för publikmedverkan (mÀngd publikgenererat innehÄll i sÀndning och antal uppmaningar till publikmedverkan) samt vilka medieformer som anvÀnds för publikmedverkan vid tvÄ tillfÀllen. Undersökningen bestÄr av 20 sÀndningstimmar 1995 och 20 sÀndningstimmar 2010, jÀmnt fördelade mellan radiokanalerna P1 och P3.Resultat: Den empiriska undersökningen visar att utrymmet för publikmedverkan har ökat i och med digitaliseringen.

Vad Àr kommersiellt och vad Àr public service? : InnehÄll, form och funktion i radions morgonprogram

Uppsatsen undersöker radiomediets form (utformning, uppbyggnad och dess olika delar) och funktion (för programmens helhet och för lyssnarna) i dagens Sverige.Syftet var att analysera vilka likheter och skillnader som finns mellan public service radion och den kommersiella radion. Det Àr framförallt public service radions identitet som relateras i förhÄllande till den kommersiella radion. I uppsatsen anvÀnds bÄde kvantitativ och kvalitativ innehÄllsanalys med fokus pÄ medietextens tempo, positionering och intention. Det empiriska materialet bestÄr av tvÄ av radions mest populÀra morgonprogram; RIX MorronZoo och Morgonpasset i Sveriges Radio P3, inspelade morgonen den 15/4 samt morgonen den 16/4 -2004. Referenserna bestÄr av tidigare forskning om radiomediet, aktuella rapporter, hemsidor, tidningsartiklar och offentliga dokument om styrregler för radion i Sverige.

Folkbibliotek en vÀg till integration

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how a public library, as an information center and a meeting place, may contribute to bring Swedes and immigrants closer to one another, which is a prerequisite for integration. To realize this purpose, I have asked three questions. Which conditions and demands are stated in central documents for libraries immigrant activities? What do the library called Biblioteket VĂ€sters multicultural activities contain? How does the library conceive its object to strengthen immigrants identity so that its activities, contribute to integration? As method, I have used hermeneutics, which means that I have interpreted the thesis material. In the theory I have described relevant literature and confirmed the importance of identity, language and the majoritys acknowledgement for integration.

SamhÀllsinformation i Göteborg : en jÀmförande studie av förmedlare av samhÀllsinformation

The aim of this master's thesis is a comparative study on units for civic information in Göteborg. The study is based on a project currently in progress at the main public library in Göteborg. It is observed that according to the library's mission statement the library aims to become the most competent intermediary of civic information in Göteborg. This statement suggests a competitive strategy towards other intermediaries of civic information. The mission statement does, however, also state that their goal is to be obtained in cooperation with other intermediaries.

Musikwebb ? En undersökning med fokus pÄ urval, service och digitalisering

The aim of this master thesis is to examine the attitudes among library staff regarding a music downloading service called Musikwebb, which is available in many Swedish public libraries. It focuses on the impact of Musikwebb on the process of music selection, the relationship between Musikwebb and the digital development in public libraries and what service Musikwebb offers its users. The gathering of material was executed through focus group interviews with library staff in four libraries. This empirical material we divided in three categories: Music selection, The Library and its digital services, and Library services. We use the results of Sanna Talja?s discourse analysis regarding the relationship between Music, Culture and the Library to analyze our material.

Bokförvaringsplats eller serviceinrÀttning? Direkt eller indirekt service pÄ Göteborgs stadsbibliotek 1891-1960

This paper describes the development of direct and indirect service at the former Gothen­burg city library. This was during this period of time not the public library of the town, but a scientific library mostly serving the college, although also open to the public. Furthermore the services offered in Gothenburg are compared with those of the two old Swedish university libraries in Uppsala and Lund. The investigated direct serviceforms are "making material available", "guidance", and "localities". The indirect service areas are "the catalogue" and "the personnel and their competence".The conclusion is that the differences weren't that big and that Gothenburg city library was a modern library providing about the same services as you could find in Uppsala and Lund.
