Borna disease virus (BDV) is a virus with capability to cause neurological disease in several species of mammals and of ostriches. Also humans are suspected to be susceptible to the virus, as the viral RNA and antibodies against BDV have been found in some humans with psychiatric diseases, like schizophrenia and depression. In Sweden there is a disease called staggering disease in cats, associated to BDV-infection. This disease often has a fatal progress. Definite diagnosis is reached by histo-pathological and immunohistochemical examination of the central nervous system.

Psykiska störningar är tillstånd som kan drabba alla oss människor. Krav om kompetens på hälso- och sjukvården har ställts för att kunna erbjuda patienter med psykisk störning ett effektivt omhändertagande. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att beskriva ambulanssjuksköterskans erfarenheter av att vårda patienter med psykiska störningar. Metoden är av deskriptiv kvalitativ design och semi-strukturerade intervjuer utgör grunden för den kvalitativa innehållsanalysen med manifest utgångspunkt som genomförts. Resultatet omfattar tre huvudkategorier såsom följer, ?svåra möten skapar rädsla och frustration och försvårar interaktion?, ?svårt bedöma tillstånd och lämpliga åtgärder? och ?vård byggd med autonomi, erfarenhet och uppfinningsrikedom?.

Med hjälp av denna uppsats avser författarna att visa hur en internationalisering och etableringsprocess kan se ut för ett svenskt företag i Brasilien. Introduction: Basic Body Awereness Therapy (BBAT) is a treatment developed to treat different kinds of psychiatric diagnoses, but also to prevent the emergence of any other unhealthy conditions. The treatment is aimed to increase the body control and conscious breathing but also requires mental awareness.Aim: The aim of this study is to, based on social cognitive theory, describe patients' experiences of BBAT performed as group therapy.Method: The study design was qualitative with an inductive approach. Five people were interviewed after a BBAT group treatment in primary care. The data was collected by individual interviews with semi-structured questions and the interviews were analysed by qualitative content analysis.Result/Conclusion: The participants experienced increased body awareness and implemented BBAT strategies even though the treatment frequency was insufficient. BBAT was described as helpful used to regulate intensity level, stress management and facilitate breathing.

The aim of this study was to examine mental illness among adolescents in the age group 13- 18 in the municipality of Lund. We studied the topic based on counselors experiences. There have been several reports in media concerning an increase of mental illness among youth. Therefore we considered this as an interesting issue to examine. This study consists of seven qualitative interviews and one telephone interview with counselors.

Background In Nyanza in western Kenya are 30,5% of children estimated as malnourished. It is a family situation that nurses often come in contact with. Therefore it is of interest to know how nurses work with parents of malnourished children when they have a significant role in developing the family's knowledge and child health. Aim. Forskning har visat på en uppfattning att potentiella donatorer ibland förbises på grund av organisationsmässiga brister i struktur och riktlinjer. Även bristande kunskap och ett behov av mer utbildning finns beskrivet i flertal studier.Syfte: Att undersöka hur intensivvårdssjuksköterskor uppfattar sin kunskap och beredskap gällande organdonationsprocessen.Metod: Studien var empirisk med kvalitativ ansats. En fokusgruppintervju genomfördes som datainsamling, urvalet bestod av intensivvårdssjuksköterskor som var verksamma på en allmän intensivvårdsavdelning. Innehållsanalys användes för att bearbeta materialet.Resultat: I resultatet framkom fyra huvudkategorier och nio subkategorier.

People with dementia often have difficulties expressing their needs. Untreated pain within this group can be manifested as depression, agitation or loss in appetite. It can be a challenging task for a nurse to estimate, treat and evaluate pain for people with dementia. With good knowledge and an empathic approach, nurses can often recognize and relieve pain amongst these people. Despite this, litterature often suggest that unrecognized and untreated pain is common within this group..

The aim of this study was to comprehend and explain the idea and function of Case Management and its diffusion in Swedish municipalities. More specifically its aim was to investigate factors for the diffusion of Case Management and its differences to similar professional roles. The study was based on interviews with four managers at various levels and two case managers representing two municipalities in Sweden. Five themes were identified that were especially interesting when discussing the function of Case Management, its differences to similar professional roles and its diffusion in Swedish municipalities. The themes were: shortcomings in the welfare system, the functions of Case Management, differences to similar professional roles, descriptions of Case Management and factors for the diffusion.

The worsening of psychical health issues among young people has widely been discussed over the last few years. Research shows for example that 9% of girls at the age of 16-24 reported anxiety problems in 1989 while 16 years later, in 2005, the same number was 30%. The purpose of this essay was to study and analyze psychiatrists', psychologists' and counselors' view on the resilience and risk factors for youth depression (age 16-24). Beside this, our aim was to study their view on the influence of family environment on treatment and recovery. Data were collected with qualitative interviews with eight informants within the psychiatric care.

SAMMANFATTNINGBAKGRUND: I och med Ädelreformen flyttades vården av äldre till kommunen och sjuksköterskor började arbeta inom den kommunala äldreomsorgen. Arbetet saknar tydliga riktlinjer och rutiner. Det innebär ett stort ansvar för sina arbetsuppgifter samt patientansvar. Vid konsultarbete ansvarar sjuksköterskan för ett stort antal människor och förmåga att prioritera och snabbt göra bedömningar av arbetsuppgifter och sjukdomstillstånd krävs.SYFTE: Syftet med studien var att utifrån sjuksköterskors berättelser beskriva deras upplevelser av sitt arbete inom den kommunala äldreomsorgen.METOD: Det är en deskriptiv studie. Information samlades in genom semi-strukturerade fokusgruppsintervjuer.

Carl Gustav Jung started to write his Black books, in which he saw himself analyzing unconscious fantasies, during the same time that he leaved the psychoanalytical movement and broke off his personal relations with Sigmund Freud. This thesis sees the interpretation of these books through a wider contextualization. The purpose is to contribute to the understanding of the breakup between the two. The therapeutic work will be highlighted where the black books will be seen through the lens of three of Jung?s more known patients as well as through the interest in mythology and fantasy that Jung showed during this time.

Suicid/självmord är idag enligt världshälsoorganisationen WHO en av de 20 vanligaste dödsorsakerna och det är välkänt att risken för suicid ökar vid depression. Psykiatrisjuksköterskor möter dagligen patienter där de är skyldiga att bedöma hur stor risken är att patienten tar sitt liv. Det har hittills funnits lite forskning angående hur psykiatrisjuksköterskorna erfar det är att göra dessa bedömningar och syftet med studien var därför att beskriva psykiatrisjuksköterskors erfarenheter av suicidriskbedömning hos patienter med depressiv ohälsa. Studiens design var av kvalitativ art där intervjuer genomfördes med 10 psykiatrisjuksköterskor inom allmänpsykiatrisk öppenvård. Data analyserades med stöd av kvalitativ innehållsanalys och mynnade ut i ett resultat om fyra huvudkategorier med tillhörande subkategorier.
