Prostitution has been intensely debated in Sweden for nearly four decades. Two major investigations have so far been initiated by the government and numerous propositions have been put forward in the Swedish parliament resulting in the sexköpslag from 1999 that criminalizes purchase of sexual services. The law aims at punishing the buyer and protecting the women in Prostitution, thus making it possible for women to be helped by various social interventions rather than punished. Swedish society has undergone major changes in these decades. Globalization, the internet and the membership in the EU have changed the Swedish society and influenced the discourse on Prostitution.This paper has a twofold aim, on the one hand investigating if and how these changes have had an impact on the Prostitution discourse in texts produced by the government and analyze how female and male sexuality in connection to Prostitution is constructed.

Denna studie är en kartläggning av Prostitution och människohandel för sexuella ändamål i Värmland. Den gjordes på uppdrag av Länsstyrelsen i Värmland. Syftet med kartläggningen var att få en uppfattning om förekomsten av Prostitution och människohandel för sexuella ändamål i Värmland, att undersöka om och hur myndigheter, frivilligorganisationer och näringsidkare arbetar mot Prostitution och människohandel för sexuella ändamål samt att se vilka resurser som finns tillgängliga för detta arbete. För att undersöka detta gjorde vi inledningsvis en förstudie i form av en observationsstudie på Internet för att få en uppfattning om det överhuvudtaget förekom försäljning av sexuella tjänster i Värmland. Denna följdes sedan upp av en enkätundersökning som skickades till myndigheter, frivilligorganisationer, bostadsbolag samt privata näringsidkare.

Prostitution är ett komplext fenomen och inom socialt arbete finns det olika organisationer och myndigheter som arbetar för att hjälpa prostituerade. Media är ett kommunikationsverktyg som används för att förmedla information till samhällets invånare. Media förmedlar diskurser som påverkar vår sociala omgivning. Vidare upprätthåller samhället diskurser genom att diskurser avbildar verkligheten. Eva Bengtsson såldes som prostituerad på 1970- talet till kända politiker i Sverige och har nu krävt skadestånd av regeringen.

The aim of this study in social work was to investigate, describe and analyze six Swedish men?s description and experiences of relationships with bargirls in Thailand, whom the men initially paid for sexual services. We also aim to find out how these men look upon prostitu-tion, masculinity and gender and we analyze these themes in relation to the men?s description of their relationships. The theoretical approach was social constructivist theories of masculini-ty in combination with gender theory.

The purpose of this essay is to examine Prostitutionsgruppens ("Prostitution group") concrete operation, its organisation and how the group have changed since sexköpslagens ("sexbuy law") incorporated.Prostitutionsgruppen was founded in 1981 and have been working against Prostitution. Their main goal is to reduce the damage of Prostitution. Their work consists of treatment and reaching out to help prostitutes. Another part of their work is to change the public attitude towards Prostitution. They act as intermediary of the knowledge they have gained through meeting people in Prostitution.I have interviewed one social worker in the group and researched earlier literature.

Uppsatsen har till syfte att titta på hur verksamma inom stödorganisationer ser på sina klienter, samt vad de har för attityder till Prostitution. Genom en diskursanalys lyfts diskursen om Prostitution utifrån det nederländska och svenska samhället fram. Frågeställningar i uppsatsen är: Vilket syfte har organisationerna i arbetet med Prostitution? Vilken syn på Prostitution har de anställda på stödorganisationerna? Vad har organisationerna att erbjuda och hur arbetar de? Går det att finna skillnader eller likheter mellan synen på Prostitution i de olika länderna? Uppsatsen har en beskrivande och tolkande design med ett kvalitativt diskursanalytiskt förhållningssätt. Frågeställningar rörande de anställdas värdegrund och förhållningssätt till sina klienter utgjorde grunden i uppsatsen.

Syftet med den här studien var att finna förklaringar till varför ungdomar väljer att ta steget in i Prostitution. För att få ett inifrånperspektiv valde vi att göra kvalitativa intervjuer med tre unga vuxna som sålt sex sedan tidiga tonåren. Forskningsfrågorna handlade om hur ungdomarna själva beskrev sin väg in i Prostitution samt vad de sett som motiverande för att fortsätta. Resultaten har analyserats utifrån handlingsteorin och ställts emot tidigare forskning på området. Studien visar att vägen in i Prostitution kan ses som en process där individuell sårbarhet och den omgivande sociala miljön tillsammans bidrar till att Prostitution framstår som ett alternativ.

"A discourse analysis of the debate on Prostitution 1993-2011" The aim of this essay is to investigate how Prostitution is constructed in the debate. The analysis is based off debate articles from four of the biggest Swedish news papers. Articles from two periods of time has been chosen, 1993-1999 and 2008-2011. The specific periods were selected because they revolve around the Swedish ban on the purchase of sexual services in 1999, and when it was evaluated in 2008. With a constructivist aim based on gender research, the themes and subject positions of the debate are explored via discourse analysis.

We also wanted to examine how social workers see male and female persons who prostitute themselves. This study is based on the qualitative method and the result was analyzed with social constructionism, postmodern feminism and labeling theory.

Here I study some European films from the late 1950?s and the early 1960?s by directors like Fellini, Visconti, Pasolini and Godard. By comparing them with different sociological studies on the subject of female Prostitution I try to find out if these films are interested in the actual situation of the prostitute, or in their own image of the phenomenon. Is she an object used for sex or just an sex object? Is she positively or negatively pictured? With realism or as a stereotype? Which aspects of her situation is shown and which ones are concealed? What is the view on the men who actually use her services?It seems natural that different types of films, with different types of prostitutes, illustrates different aspects of what Prostitution might be.

?Street Prostitution, why there?? is about how the physical planning and physical environment affect the localization of street Prostitution in Gothenburg. The aim is to increase the understanding of how social security is linked to man's immediate environment and are influenced by the physical environment. Important concepts that are explained in the paper are social security, Prostitution, and physical planning.This study deals with theories about the factors that may influence why criminality localized to a specific area, such as legislation, urban planning and community. The study conducted interviews with the Gothenburg Police, Västra Götaland County Administrative Board, Gothenburg City, Stadsmissionen and Mikamottagningen.

Denna studie åsyftar till att undersöka vilket stöd och skydd som idag erbjuds av organisationer för kvinnor med erfarenhet av gatuProstitution i Göteborgs och Stockholms stad.Under studien kontaktades fyra organisationer som arbetar med inriktning för kvinnor i Prostitution, två i Göteborg och två i Stockholm. Vi har undersökt två kommunala och två frivilliga organisationer för att se huruvida deras arbete kompletterar varandra, till förmån för att hjälpa och stödja kvinnor i Prostitution.För att kunna undersöka vilket stöd och skydd som erbjuds för kvinnor i Prostitution, kommer vi i studien undersöka den rådande lagstiftningen i Sverige angående köp av sexuella tjänster. Vi har även undersökt USA:s lagstiftning i de stater där både köparen och säljaren av sexuella tjänster kriminaliseras. Genom att undersöka den juridiska aspekten av två olika lagstiftningar, åskådliggör denna studie på hur situationen för kvinnor i Prostitution påverkas utav ett lands lagstiftning.I studien presenteras även en tidigare forskning med de stödinsatser som kvinnor i Prostitution själva anser sig ha, samt vilka stödinsatser som bör utvecklas för att stödja och skydda denna målgrupp. Ytterligare rör en tidigare forskning vikten av samarbeten mellan organisationer.Vi kommer försöka förklara den situation kvinnor i Prostitution lever i, utifrån teorierna Radikalfeminism och Empowerment.De insatser som idag finns förfogande för kvinnor i Prostitution i Göteborg och Stockholm är uppsökande arbete, samtalsbehandling, samt viss möjlighet till kontakt med andra myndigheter som exempelvis läkare.
