Sustainability has become more interesting to several companies through the last years, the trend attracts lots of attention around sustainability. Sustainable development means different to different people. The most frequent definition that we have found and which we believes compare with our definition of sustainable development.?a social change which satisfies daily needs without endanger next generation?s possibilities to satisfy their needs?.We have in this project commence from the English word sustainability and establish our own apprehension of its meaning, in the Swedish translation we have chose to call it sustainable development.This study is a part of an extensive project which is going on around the world and the material of the empirical study is designed after the international variation.Our study on over fifty small and medium sized enterprises has got the conclusion about what they think of sustainable development. We have compiled their answers and then the answers have been divided in three main categories.These main categories are:? Environmental-? Social-? Uppsatsen handlar om hemlöshetsproblematiken i Östersunds kommun. Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur ansvarsfördelningen ser ut för hemlöshetsproblematiken, hur samverkan myndigheter emellan fungerar, märkbara förändringar i det preventiva arbetet med hemlösa, och vilken definition av hemlösa som används i Östersunds kommun. Studien genomfördes med forskningsintervjuer. Studiens undersökningsgrupp bestod av Socialtjänstchefen, Socialnämndsordförande, Boendesociala gruppen och med kroninspektörer från Kronofogdemyndigheten i Östersunds kommun. Studiens slutsatser är att kommunen har det yttersta ansvaret (men det är hyresvärdarna som bestämmer vilka som skall vräkas) och följer Socialstyrelsens fyra definitioner av begreppet hemlös, samverkan sker mellan samtliga intervjupersoner och hyresvärdarna.

Den utbredda korruptionen i landet urholkar också det juridiska IP-skyddet och leder till att skyddet måste övervägs på fler plan än bara det rent juridiska. För att förebygga och motverka pågående intrång av IP är goda kontakter med statliga myndigheter både på central och på lokal nivå mycket viktiga.

This essay investigates how the author Oline Stig creates identities for her main characters in three short stories; Midsommar, Polly Maggoo and Den längsta dagen from the collection Den andra himlen (2007).My investigation is based on concepts chosen from psychology and narratology: First, Jonas Stier?s definition of human identity. In his definition he focuses on a person?s social context. He also considers identity formation as an ongoing, ever- changing process.

The task given to us was to develop an industrial wheel with new thinking in terms of fresh design and construction, with the ability to brake. While the produced wheels of today only own the property of total braking, a wish was made to integrate the ability of directional locking.The time spent working with the project has been filled with multiple sketches of ideas and function analysis.Choices of material and ways of construction have been verified by calculations, tests and prototype building. The goal of this thesis has been to develop a unique caster with well thought-out design that would be adaptable to different areas of applications.The result was a hubless wheel with the ability of directional locking before total braking.A prototype of the wheel has been made to show the design and functions..

Skogen är den viktigaste exportvaran för Svensk ekonomi. I de norra delarna av Sverige har många sågverk tvingats att lägga ned sin verksamhet det senaste decenniet. Vi har undersökt de tre kvarvarande sågverken i Arvidsjaursområdet, för att se vilka faktorer som har gjort att de överlevt. Vi har använt oss av Property-Rights-teorin vars ena grundtes framhåller att ?om inte jag utnyttjar resursen kommer någon annan att göra det utan hänsyn till mig?.

Med anledning av försvarsmaktens omstrukturering ställs det nya krav på förbandens ledningsstrukturer. Som en viktig del i sammanhanget ligger behovet av att kunna leda och samordna förbanden så att största möjliga effekt kan uppnås. Begreppet områdesansvar används som ett begrepp för att på slagfältet bland annat definiera ansvarsfördelningen mellan chefer. Dagens definition av områdesansvar och dess innebörd kan ifrågasättas med anledning av försvarsmaktens utveckling. Syftet med uppsatsen är att mot bakgrund av genomförd omstrukturering enligt regeringspropositionen 1999, definiera begreppet områdesansvar på det framtida slagfältet.

This is a discourse analysis concerning the visions for Malmö's future. Three concepts are studied to see which meaning these are given in the Malmö context. The studied concepts are ? development (utveckling), industry (näringsliv) and citizen (befolkning).The meanings of these concepts are studied against a backdrop of theories of inclusion/exclusion in general and inclusion/exclusion in the city more specific. Michael Foucault´s notion of a discourse which stigmatizes those not following a behaviour which is defined as being right and normal is central to this.

This survey aims to investigate and analyze how six teachers on a high school in Stockholm reflect on pedagogical aspects of problem based learning( PBL). The survey focuses on ana-lyzing how the teachers relate to the benefits and problems of PBL and how they reflect on the students development. The survey was conducted on a high school and the method used for the study was interviews, each taking 30-45 minutes. The outcome of the survey indicates that the teachers sees problem based learning as an alternative to what they define as tradi-tional education regarding its epistemology. They indicate that PBL allows the students to define their own questions, to be carriers of knowledge and to evolve analytic skills in relation to the basegroup.

Vi har valt att genomföra en undersökning om elevernas och lärarnas uppfattningar om simundervisning. Under vår idrottsutbildning idrott och hälsa på Lärarhögskolan i Stockholm växte intresset inom simundervisning. Vi insåg hur viktigt det var med simning i skolan och vad konsekvenserna av att inte kunna simma kan bli. En nationell utvärdering visar på att 0,5 % av alla deltagande elever i År 9 som har fått MVG i ämnet idrott och hälsa inte är simkunniga och med detta ville vi se vilka förutsättningar skolor har för att kunna bedriva simundervisning. Studien som vi har genomfört syftar till att se hur idrottslärarna uppfattar deras resurser i form av tillgång till simhall och tider för att bedriva simundervisning i År 9 samt att se hur skolorna får stöd av kommunen och de olika styrdokumenten för ämnet idrott och hälsa.

This diploma work handles how some parishes of the Swedish Church administrate their building properties.The report also includes how some external property managers in Sweden work with maintenance plans and other maintenance issues. Further, a number of deficiencies have been identified and suggestions to workarounds are treated. The conclusions drawn in this thesis are based on the author´s experience in the field, performed interviews, and literature studies. The result of the work shows a general lack of knowledge in many parishes what concerns regulatory requirements, properties with no maintenance plan and substandard supervision resulting in unnecessary and expensive repairs. Based on these results, different plans for the maintenance of the building properties of the Swedish Church has been proposed..

The concept of the work-first principle (arbetslinjen) might be considered old, but still serves as the main principle as well as an instrument in the Swedish labour market and social policy today. The original idea was that work and willingness to work was to be rewarded, especially due to a common opposition against the passive receipt of grants. The general definition of work, today, is that it is something desirable that should be achieved and that unemployed primarily will be offered training or work rather than grants and subsidies. When the Moderate party re-launched themselves as Sweden's "workers' party of today", in the beginning of the 2000's, the concept was brought back into the spotlight. In the elections of 2006 and 2010, the labour market was widely debated and become a controversial issue, with the concept of the work-first principle playing a major role.The purpose of this thesis is to analyse and problematize how the concept was presented and explained in the nationwide newspapers Aftonbladet and Svenska Dagbladet during the 2010 elections, this in order to increase the understanding of the concept?s contemporary definition and policy implications.

The aim of this study was to examine young adult cannabis users? attitudes towards cannabis and their perception of the normalization of cannabis. The purpose was also to explore how their views of cannabis correspond with norms regarding cannabis. This study is based on interviews with five young adult cannabis users. The theoretical framework is based on Parker?s normalization thesis, Goffman?s notion of stigma, Becker?s definition of outsiders and the definition of social identity developed by Stone.

The aim of this study was to understand how staff at residential homes for unaccompanied children experiences their professional role. The main focus of the study was on how the staff defines their professional role and how they handle the situation to be close and at the same time keep a distance towards the children in care. Five women and two men were interviewed at five different residential homes for unaccompanied children. By symbolic interactionism we are able to see that the professional roles are shaped through interaction with the children in care as well as in relation to colleagues. The main role for the staff is to build up a relationship with the children.
