Current technology offers many possibilities for remotecommunication. Nevertheless, people with cognitive and communicativedisabilities have limited access to common communication technology like textmessaging via a mobile phone. This study is part of the project Text messagingwith picture symbols - a possibility for AAC users and people with cognitiveimpairments. Semi structured interviews were used to investigate three menand four women?s experiences of using Windows mobiles with adaptedfunctions for text messaging.

»Does it have to be so green?« is a visual communication project focused on packaging design. I attempted to challenge the clichés of graphic design for organic products and designed a packaging concept for a fictional food brand. The project had a special objec¬tive which was to explore ways to use the package as carrier for in¬formation about the enviromental impact of the packaging itself.The process included research about packaging design and its ef¬fect on the consumer, an investigation of the Swedish market for organic foods, creating and defining a brand, and designing a cohe¬rent packaging concept for a product line which communicates the brand?s values and appeals to the intended target group.The project resulted in prototypes for a muesli package, tea car¬ton and honey jar, as well as a manual that explains the application of the graphic program..

Denna uppsats har fokus på platser som är möjliga att tala om som mellanrum. Till skillnad från planerade och kontrollerade platser i staden, talas det ofta om mellanrum som oplanerade, okontrollerade och övergivna platser. Enligt forskning av mellanrum, präglas dessa platser av en rad olika motsättningar. Arkitekter och planerare har en tendens att se på mellanrum som överblivna platser utan värde och som en markreserv i väntan på en framtida stadsutveckling. Trots detta används dessa platser av människor, som snarare ser på mellanrum som värdefulla platser och som en slags frizon för människor och aktiviteter som inte ges något utrymme på planerade och kontrollerade platser i staden.

Abstrakt Under vårt kandidatarbete arbetade vi under 20 veckor med att utveckla ett webbaserat spel riktat mot Facebook. Vi använde Agile/Scrum som projektmetod för vårt arbete och förändrade metoden och utvecklade verkyg för att effektivisera den för vårt syfte. Vi kom fram till att det är svårt att göra ett socialt spel och att det viktigaste i produktionen är att se till att det finns en tydlig koppling mellan spelarnas interaktion med varandra och den grundläggande spelmekaniken. Vi tappade fokus under utvecklingen och lärde oss den hårda vägen vikten av att planera realistiskt och börja ifrån grunden när man utvecklar ett spel. Spelet vi skapade använder sig av slumpässigt genererad terräng, är skrivet i JavaScript och utspelar sig i en viktoriansk miljö. We used Agile/Scrum as our Project planning method, changed the method to make it more effective for our purpose and developed tools for the method. We came to the conclusion that it's hard to make a social game and that the most important thing in the production is to make sure that there's a clear connection between the players' interaction with each other and the foundations of the game mechanics. We lost focus during the development and learned the hard way the value of planning realistically and to start from the core when developing a game. The game we created uses a random generated terrain, is written in JavaScript and takes place in a Victorian environment. Mellan 1960 och 1970 lades många järnvägssträckor ner sin verksamhet i Sverige, spåren revs upp och bilen tog över vår vardags pendling på allvar. Nu när effekterna av bilens framfart blivit kända är tåget åter ett intressant alternativ och olika gamla tågsträckningar vill återupplivas. Simrishamnsbanan är en sådan tågsträcka och är tänkta att åter förena de orter som finns mellan Malmö och Simrishamn. Veberöd är en av de orter som ligger utmed den forna tågsträckan och orten ingår i Lundskommun och mitt syfte med detta examensarbete är att finna svar på hur Veberöd ur ett ekonomiskat, socialt och ekologiskt "hållbart" sätt ska kunna anpassa sig till ett stationsnära läge, med tyngdpunkt på: Bostadsstruktur, Infrastruktur och Grönstruktur. Detta utifrån ett scenario där Simrishamnsbanan realiseras. Examensarbetet börjar med att problematisera hållbarhetsbegreppet och begrepp som täthet och gleshet, därefter följer en omfattande analys av Veberöds historia, bostadsområden, grönstruktur, verksamhet och service.

Jag har i mitt examensarbete undersöka om man kan skapa en trevligare gatumiljö längs en väg med mycket trafik. Planområdet jag valt att arbeta med sträcker sig mellan Göteborg och Mölndal. Dessa städer binds samman av flera olika vägar. Den första förbindelsen mellan dessa städer gick längsmed Mölndalsån där idag Södra vägen, Mölndalsvägen och Göteborgsvägen finns. Om man ska färdas mellan Göteborg och Mölndal väljer många fortfarande att röra sig längs denna sträckning då den är genast och för att spårvagnen färdas den sträckningen.

This report is the result of a project in the course Independent Projekt in Molecular Biotechnology at Uppsala University during the spring of 2014. The foremost purpose of the course is to give students the opportunity to carry through exstensive work in a project environment. This project was formed based on a comission from the biotechnology company SweTree Technologies, and the goal has been to compose a summary of the different techniques and methods that exist in the field of mass propagation of trees through the method of somatic embryogenesis.The project group has obtained information about the area mainly throgh reading patents, trying to find key components and bottlenecks in other companies? somatic embryogenesis technologies. This paper is divided into different sections, containing the patents of the automation of different steps in the process.

I have studied the suburban municipality of Botkyrka, south of Stockholm, from a rural perspective. Through that I`ve compared how countryside comes into being with the planning and building of suburbs. I have looked for a definition of Countryside, and found that it is often explained or defined in negative terms, as what it is not. In that it says nothing about what it really is, or about the qualitiies it has to it. Botkyrka is a suburb, but it does in large parts consist of countryside. Apart from defining countryside and rural I´ve been searching for a definition of suburbia, of it´s structure and the mental picture we have of it as a cultural phenomena. In order to understand the role that suburbs have in planning I describe their history from Italian renaissance villas to sprawl. By opposing urban and rural, modern urban planning and how rural areas are created, I´ve come to a definition of rural planning and the making of countryside. To make countryside, planning and building should come from individual needs and desires. A relationship to the surroundings based on continous interaction between the human beeing and it´s environment, a constant process of shaping and reshaping. To put my thoughts to the ground I have collected examples of projects and ideas, that fits into my view of what rural planning and making countryside is all about. They are put in different categories according to the possibilities of influence and to what degree it is put into private hands. The first category is ?allemansrätten?, every mans right. That is the rigt to use private land as long as you don´t disturb or destroy.

This study investigates and evaluates a project called "Hisnande historier: från Bellman till Batman". "Hisnande historier" is composed to stimulate childrens literacy and it is directed towards pupils in the fourth class. The project is a co-operation between public librarians and compulsory school representatives in the municipality of Ystad. It contains visits by an author and exercises in reading and writing. We have been following the project during autumn 1998 at two schools in Ystad.

Some people do not have the opportunity to visit a physical exhibition because of limited time or long travelling distances, it is here the need for a web-based exhibition arises.This dissertation describes the development of an interactive web-site representing a part of a physical exhibition of over 200 interviews on different peoples immigration to inner Scandinavia. The interviews contain text, audio clip, pictures and video clip.The website contains modern programming technologies such as HTML5, ASP.NET MVC3, SQL, JavaScript and jQuery.A cover of the technologies used and how the project has been designed and implemented is explained in the dissertation. In the end of the dissertation we discuss about how the result of the project follows the goals we set up in the start phase. The result of this project is an interactive and easy to use web-site showing a part of the physical exhibition online. An easy administration to insert new information and edit existing without any major computer knowledge..

The aim of this Master´s thesis is to explore how public libraries in a successful way can work in projects with young people. It intends to point out different factors that in a legible way affect the accomplishment and outcome of the project. Another purpose of the study is to uncover the various approaches existing within the projects towards young people and to find out why it is seen as important to work with youngsters, considering the hard work that it requires and the reluctance of the young to visit the library. The examination is based upon eight different and fulfilled projects. Information about these has been received through project descriptions, project reports and documents describing applications for economical benefits.

Studieobjektet för detta kandidatarbete är Stortorget vilket är beläget mitt på Trossö i centrala Karlskrona. Staden är sedan 1600-talet starkt färgad av en omfattande militär aktivitet, något som påverkat stadsbilden påtagligt. Detta är en grundfaktor som gjort att Karlskrona sedan 1988 finns upptagen på UNESCO:s världsarvslista. Huvudsyftet för detta kandidatarbetets är att ge ett gestaltningsförslag för Stortorget utifrån platsens roll som offentligt rum i staden. Avgränsningen sträcker sig till att omfatta Stortorget med dess närmaste omnejd, dock sätts Stortorget in i en vidare kontext som utgörs av hela Trossö för att ge en bild av torgets relation till den övriga centrala staden. Gestaltningsförslaget i detta kandidatarbete utgår från renässansens syn på form, individ och stadsrum. Några av de teorier som använts för att underbygga denna strävan är Vitruvius tankar om form och proportion, Camillo Sittes stadsrumsteorier och Gordon Cullens Serial Vision för att nämna några.

As technology have continued to develop over the latest decades and become more advanced the pressure on the general citizens understanding of technology becomes a essential part to live in our society today. The transition have affected our society in great ways and have made a great impact on different groups, one of them being the elderly population in our society. The purpose of this study is to examine how the fast technological development in the latest decades have affected the elderly in our society. This from their perspective by gathering empirical data through semi-structured interviews with elderly people involved in the Agnes-project, a research project focused on improving the general quality of life for older people and increase their knowledge about technology. The study has shown that after the older peoples time involved in the Agnes-project their quality of life had improved in different areas. Areas such as increased cognitive activity, increased interest in new technology and an improvement in their communication with friends and family.

Flertalet kommuner har arbetat fram grönstrukturplaner för att se över grönområdenas bevarande och utvecklingsmöjligheter. Grönstrukturplanen fungerar även som ett planeringsunderlag för att hantera förfrågningar om exploatering på grönområden. Färjestaden är en attraktiv ort i Mörbylånga kommun där inflyttningen ökar stadigt. Behovet av nya bostadsområden är stort. Mörbylånga kommun ser gärna en förtätning i Färjestadens centrala delar samtidigt som ett behov av att bevara grönområden aktualiseras i pågående planprocesser. Kommunen har idag flera pågående planprojekt som tar grönområden i centrala delarna av Färjestaden i anspråk, men saknar samtidigt en grönstrukturplan för Färjestaden. Ett grönområde kan värderas på flera olika sätt.

This document is a summary of my work to create a project management system for a small firm working with computer graphics. The intention is to manage customers, projects, images and invoices in the easiest possible way. To make the system as flexible as possible a web-interface was chosen which makes it possible to access the system from any computer, making it independent of any particular operating system. The only requirement on the user environment is that the computer must have a connection to the Internet to be able to access the system. The different techniques that have been used to develop the project management system is primarily Ruby on Rails and a MySQL database.
