Our study aims to investigate whether resilient children share common factors that could explain them not following the expected course of development for said group. The study also sets out to explore which strategies resilient children implement in order to cope with their situation.The study is based on the following questions:How do resilient children describe their experiences from growing up with parents with substance abuse problems? What risk and protective factors do they mention in their biographies?We use the system theory and Goffman's dramaturgic perspective as analytical tools.  The system theory could help us see the family as a system, while Goffman's theory might help us understand how resilient children find different strategies, and why they implement these strategies, to hide their family problems.The results show that the most important factors with a positive effect on resilient children were: to have somebody else important in their lives, to have goals in life, to have a safe haven, to think independently and to develop a high level of independence early in life..

Background: An accountant is supposed to secure that the information from a company is true and fair. Recently consulting, or giving advice, has grown to be a major part of an accountants daily work particularly in smaller companies which may have insufficient financial competence themselves. This means that an accountant occupies two parts, as an independent reviewer and as an initiated advisor, which have caused controversy. Purpose: The purpose is to outline and explain how the accountants and audit customers regard an eventual discrepancy between performing the audit and consulting, and to give suggestions how to manage this. The purpose is also to define what customers perceive as quality in consulting an auditor.

The need for second language learning is increasing in today?s multicultural and globalized society, and adult studies are becoming more common. Teachers must encourage all students, and all schools need to promote equality. Motivation is one of the most important factors for positive learning and progress, and it can be helpful for second language teachers to know more about this subject. The aim of this study was to examine which motivational factors that influence adult immigrants to learn Swedish through SFI education in Sweden.

The purpose of this study is to survey which competences and personal qualities the labour market, for students with examination from the Coaching and Sport management education at Vaxjo University, require. Furthermore I want to find out if the employees, videlicet the ex students, consider that their competences differentiate in relation to other employees in the organization which not have this education.In the study a qualitative investigation method has been used where ten interviews have been implemented. The interviews have been carried out within five conceivable work areas to a student with examination from the Coaching and Sport management education at Vaxjo University. The work areas are sports association, sports union, municipal activity with sport and leisure time connection, company with health care connection and company without any kind of sport connection. Five of the persons being interviewed are ex students that now are employees within any of the elected work areas.

Bakgrund: Högskolan Kristianstad ger sjuksköterskestudenter möjlighet att göra utlandspraktik. Sjuksköterskestudenter som gör utlandspraktik i ett utvecklingsland erfar upplevelser som påverkar studentens framtida profession, internationella perspektiv, personliga och intellektuella utveckling. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva sjuksköterskestudenters upplevelser av att göra utlandspraktik i ett utvecklingsland som Sri Lanka. Metod: En kvalitativ empirisk studie genomfördes som grundades på subjektiva dagboksanteckningar i berättelseform. Datainsamlingen har analyserats med kvalitativ innehållsanalys.

Bakgrund: Kommunikationen har en grundläggande betydelse för allt omvårdnadsarbete med patienter, men blir ännu viktigare när det rör människor som vårdas palliativt. Vårdpersonalen ska ge korrekt information till patient och samtidigt kunna lyssna på patienten och tyda patientens individuella sätt att kommunicera genom verbal och icke verbal kommunikation. Syftet med denna studie var att belysa kommunikationen i mötet vid palliativ vård. Metoden: Studien utfördes som en litteraturstudie. Författarna valde att analysera nio vetenskapliga artiklar, där alla valda innehöll området kommunikation.

Studiens syfte är att ge en aktuell bild av arbetslivssituationen för de första examinerade socialpedagogerna från Högskolan Västs distansförlagda utbildnings-program i Hultsfred och Västervik. Studien belyser också hur de före detta studenterna ser på sin utbildning och på det socialpedagogiska kunskapsområdet kopplat till sin yrkesroll. Tre centrala teoretiska begrepp, kunskap, verktyg och förhållningssätt, utgör fokus och ställs i relation till socialpedagogik som profession, kunskapsområde och praxisfält. Studien har en kombinerad kvantitativ och kvalitativ ansats, med enkäter till den grupp om totalt 39 studenter som avslutade sin utbildning vid årsskiftet 2006/2007. Frågor med fasta svarsalternativ har kompletterats med öppna frågor av berättande karaktär, kring uppfattning om utbildningens relevans för yrkeslivet och studenternas tankar kring socialpedagogik som profession och yrkesroll.

AIM: To investigate  newly graduated nurses opinions on their introduction and preceptorship at Akademiska Sjukhuset in Uppsala. METHOD: A descriptive cross-sectional study using qualitative and quantitative evaluations. Data was collected by a questionnaire containing open and closed questions. Totally 42 participants took part in the study. Data analysis was obtained using descriptive statistics, thematic analysis and content analysis.

In part this paper is a contribution to the ongoing Swedish discussion about our public structures. The discussion has picked up speed in the last years thanks to a government backed committee trying to come up with a suggestion to make our public sector more efficient. A big part of the debate is about the independence and work of our municipalities, what they should do, what they shouldn?t do and when the state should step in and take over. I make a theoretical investigation into one of these issues, the one about job creation.

Todays travel trends go towards independence and self planning. If you need advice or help when performing your trip, there are several different series of guidebooks on the market and one of these series comes from the travel magazine Vagabond. This degree project concerns the redesigning of the travelguides of Vagabond, or to be precise: their cityguide over Istanbul. The purpose of the new design is to assure the resemblance between the guidebook and the magazine, as wanted by the Art Director of Vagabond Angelica Zander.Prior to the redesigning process preliminary studies that make up the fundamental ideas were made. Three other big titles of guidebooks on the market were analyzed, and in addition a great deal of focus ? considering the final purpose ? was put on the concept of magazine design.

Taiwan's recent democratization seem to have rallied a wider support of the notion of a national identity amongst its citizens which in the year 2000 led to the election of the pro-independence party DPP and President Chen Shui-bian. Meanwhile, China insists on the "one country, two systems" formula, regarding Taiwan as merely a Chinese province, and continues to fight any Taiwanese initiative towards sovereignty. Through a narrative perspective, this essay analyzes the self-conscious national identity-building quest embarked upon by DPP and President Chen Shui-bian. The analysis consists of three parts. Firstly, a text-analysis of President Chen Shui-bian's speeches is conducted to examine in what way he enforces and legitimizes the identity-building-process through narratives.

Denna studie behandlar ämnet forskningsanvändning i praktiskt socialt arbete och har genomförts i form av en diskursanalys av utvalda delar av den offentliga debatten kring ämnet.De frågeställningar som styrt arbetet är vilka strategier för forskningsanvändning som kan urskiljas samt hur det kan påverka socialarbetare i praktiken. För att besvara frågeställningarna gjordes ett strategiskt urval av texter utifrån begränsningar i fråga om tid och relevans för ämnet.De dokument som granskats utgörs av Socialstyrelsens rapport om kunskapsutveckling inom socialtjänsten samt ett antal debattartiklar ur tidsskriften Socionomen.Studien har utformats som en diskursanalys med inslag av den kvalitativa fallstudien, alltså inom den kvalitativa forskningstraditionen. Texterna har analyserats och sedan kategoriserats utifrån de deltagande aktörernas problemdefinition, orsak till problemets uppkomst, hinder och förslag till lösning. Vad gäller studiens vetenskapsfilosofiska position och teoretiska angreppssätt befinner sig denna studie inom ramen för den kritiska samhällsforskningen och i analysen av resultat och slutsatser har utvalda teorier kring makt och profession använts. I studien har även en genomgång av tidigare forskning på området genomförts och dess slutsatser har även använts i analysdelen.

The aim of this study is to examine if library and archive will meet professionally in digitization projects. The study has been conducted as a discourse analysis in accordance with the methods of Norman Fairclough, professor of Linguistics at Lancaster University. The texts are seen as linguistic and semiotic elements of social events that can be analyzed as parts of the social process ? discourse. The relationship between events and structures in society will be part of the social practice.The basic data derive from five public documents collected from Swedish government agencies.

The purpose of this master?s thesis is to describe by a gender approach what ideas and values are expressed in the novel One Night at Bullar Lake and how they do coincide to a tendency. We also want to discuss authority and class divisions and how these can be connected to the novel and the author. Our final question is to examine in what way the voice of the female author is represented in the novel. To approach our material we use Yvonne Hirdman?s theories about the construction of sexes and Susan Sniader Lanser?s work about voices of female authors, as well as Horace Engdahl?s studies about the silent voice in literature.
