Background: The situation for Swedish agricultural Production today is characterized by an increased competition, particularly after the country joined the European Union. Swedish agricultural Production laws guarantee safe, high quality foodstuffs. However, due to these strict laws, Swedish farmers face higher Production costs than their competitors. Meanwhile, cheaper imported goods compete freely on the Swedish market. Swedish agricultural Production must find new ways to survive in the increasing competition.

The main purpose of this master thesis is to identify guidelines for a sustainable Production that can provide useful information concerning the establishment of a biodiesel Production. These guidelines concern the surrounding Production environment, such as infrastructures and industries.The thesis is based on theoretical grounds surrounding industrial symbiosis, biodiesel Production and how sustainable development should be designed. A study of an already established producer in a similar business area has been used to provide a picture of similar projects. The thesis has with the supervisor's consent focused on the Production conditions that are affected by location.The Production conditions selected are heating, raw material market, residual and sustainable profile. These are then evaluated through an Excel-based sensitivity analysis.

A rising demand for these products in the beginning of year 2000 made the organic egg Production the most increasing Production of all organic provisions. Lean is a Production philosophy which is about increased resource use while meeting customer requirements. The foundation of lean comes from Toyota and their Production philosophy The Toyota Way. Professor Jeffrey k. Liker has worked with Toyota's Production philosophy and Lean for a long time and has created a 4 P model and 14 principles that characterize the Toyota Production system (TPS), which many sources refer to.The aim of my work is to study the working procedure of asphalt projects from sales to the laid asphalt with a focus on planning and Production management. The goal is to examine how the lean philosophy can be applied in planning and Production to simplify the flow of asphalt projects based on Likers model and principles.

The objective of this study was to make an inventory and a potential analysis of the organic beef Production in the region of Gävleborg, Sweden. A survey was conducted, where a questionaire was sent to all farmers in the region who had environmental subsidies concerning organic cropping systems in 2001. In total, there were 701 farmers, of which 46 % participated in the study. Three slaughter houses were interviewed to get their pictures of the development of organic beef Production. The study shows that there are potentials and interests in the region to increase the Production of organic beef.

Like many small-time companies there is a need to improve the flow of materials at HSP-Gripen AB. The company develops and manufactures hydraulic-powered grapples for the machine- and forest industry. By mapping the material flow in the current Production and gathering necessary data, suggestions on how different parts of the Production could be controlled is presented in this dissertation. This has been achieved by the study of relevant scientific literature. The suggested ways of controlling the Production consist of 2-bin systems, hybrid material flow system as well as a cyclic product-planning.

One interesting alternative to get a highervalue and enhance products is biodiesel, a way to improve the profitability on a farmscale.The diesel that is produced and sold, already have a mixture of 5% biodiesel, andthere is a possibility to add more biodiesel to it. By developing new engines severalengine-manufacturers now allow a mixture up to 100% biodiesel in their engines. Hencethere is a market for an increased Production of biodiesel. The aim of this study were toinvestigate the possibilities and the problems related to farm-scale Production ofbiodiesel, and to study the profit margin in the Production.

The main purposes of this study were to 1) quantify bacterial Production in winter during ice conditions, and 2) to compare these Production measures with values measured from summer and open water conditions in three humic lakes situated in northern Sweden. Another purpose of this study was to 3) examine whether clear-cutting significantly affected bacterial Production or water chemistry in two lakes situated in catchments were a large part of the forest had been removed through logging compared to an undisturbed reference lake. In winter (March/April 2014), the bacterial Production ranged from 0, 7 - 2, 2 µgC/L/day and in the summer of 2013 the Production values was 4 ? 10 times higher. The main reason for lower bacterial Production in winter was ascribed to lower water temperatures as well as to older and more recalcitrant DOC, as there were no significant differences in total dissolved nitrogen or DOC concentration or -quality, that could explain a lower Production compared to summer.

The report is about efficiency of a current Production group where there is no clear Production flow and there are some buffers between the operations. The efficiency is done with the help of a tool that is calledWork process of flow Production which is used by Atlas Copco CTO. The most obviously results are that the lead time drops from 25 hours to 425 minutes and that the balancing loss decreases from 85 % to 8 %. Calculations are an important part of planning around a construction project. From concept to completion of the project calculation is a tool to try to predict the actual cost. During the Production stage in particular, deviations occur which makes the actual cost different from the calculations.This thesis is done in collaboration with JM Residential Stockholm. The study includes a cost follow-up in which a comparison was made between the calculated Production cost and actual cost for the five projects. The aim of the study was to observe the most common reasons that a project deviates from the calculated Production cost and then summing these causes in a number of categories.

The hybrid larch (Larix x eurolepis Henry) is a fast growing tree species and was introduced in Sweden for about 50 years ago. The high growth and expected resistance to diseases are probably the main reasons of introducing the tree species into the Swedish forests. The purpose of this thesis was to document the Production of hybrid larch planted in the Snogeholm landscape laboratory and to compare the Production in the pure hybrid larch stand with the mixture together with pedunculate oak (Quercus robur). The data collection in Snogeholm since the establishment has been carried out by the Swedish University of Agricultural Science (SLU). The fieldwork for the thesis was carried out in 3 stands, containing hybrid larch, pedunculate oak and a mixture of hybrid larch and pedunculate oak, in order to be able to compare the total stand Production of the areas. The results show that the total Production of hybrid larch in the mixed stand only is 35 % compared with the total Production of hybrid larch in the pure stand. Therefore, the hypothesis that the total Production of hybrid larch is equal to the planted mixture with pedunculate oak was rejected. The other hypothesis that the total Production of a 2 hectare large stand containing a mixture of hybrid larch and pedunculate oak would be greater than the total Production of two pure stands of 1 hectare containing hybrid larch and oak each was also rejected. In the studied case the total Production was 45 % greater if hybrid larch and pedunculate oak was planted in pure stands. The results from the case-study only indicate that the total Production of hybrid larch and oak under the investigated conditions can be higher when planting the two species in pure stands compared with a mixture of the two species.

AbstractLean Production has become one common concept within industries to make the work more effective and to meet today?s hard competition. A challenge for Chinese Production is the threat from new low cost countries. It will become very difficult to succeed to produce to a lower cost than these countries; this led to that Chinese companies must develop new strategies, according to Lee and Zhou (2000). This will put China in front of new challenges and new strategies can be needed to retain their strong competitive advantages.

This graduation work is a result of implementing Lean Production using OEE and SMED at Enics Sweden AB in Malmö. Enics doesn?t have an established improvement concept and therefore should this work serve as an introduction to possibly start with Lean Production.
