This thesis is about the idea of public transport and the discussions stirred in the media during changes in ownership. More specifically it is a study of the historical situation of Stockholm, Sweden, where the periods chosen are the 1910s, 1960s and 1990s.During the 1910s Stockholm?s first and largest tram company was taken over by thecity, and a period of public ownership began, which in the 1960s changed form whenthe county council took over the city?s principal authority and formed the politicallyadministered company SL (Storstockholms Lokaltrafik, Greater Stockholm LocalTransit Company). Between these periods the word kollektivtrafik (public transport)was established in the Swedish language. This study describes and compares the ideasconcerning the phenomenon of public transport.The aim of the study is to analyse the ideas, values and ideals concerning public transport in the media, defined as newspapers.

Antalet ensamkommande barn ökar, både i Sverige och i övriga Europa. Trots det finns det inga tydliga riktlinjer för hur arbetet med barn som fått permanent uppehållstillstånd ska se ut. Tidigare forskning tar upp resilience som en viktig aspekt i samband med ensamkommande barn. Teorin resilience handlar om förmågan att återhämta sig och att man når ett tillfredsställande resultat trots erfarenheter av situationer som innebär en risk att utveckla psykosociala problem. Vårt syfte med uppsatsen var därför att undersöka om personalens arbete leder till att öka barnens resilience. För att studera detta ville vi ta reda på vilka egenskaper hos barnen som personalen ser som viktiga för en sund utveckling och hur personalen stöttar dem att tillvarata sin inre styrka.

This degree project has been performed along with Classic Garden in Gothenburg andBallongfirman Far & Flyg in Stockholm. Together we have developed a sun- wind- andrain protection. The protection is permanently assembled and mainly intended for publicenvironments as restaurants and outdoor cafés.The design on the sun protection was already done so our task has been to develop theconstruction and to build a prototype in scale 1:4 and one in scale 1:1. The look of thesun protection is approximately as the name implies, equal an igloo. The lamellae aregoing to fold out in different steps all the way down to the ground and the both sides willbe independently of each other.The first stage in the project was to develop differently principle proposal on how thefunction will work when folding in and out the protection.

AimThe aim of this study was to map the injury panorama of traumatic injuries related to ice hockey in Sweden 2006-2011. In addition to that the aim was to compare whether there were any gender differences regarding traumatic ice hockey injuries. MethodThe present study was based on data from the Folksam insurance company between 2006 and 2011. The population consisted of ice hockey players in a club affiliated to the Swedish Ice Hockey Federation and that had sustained a traumatic injury related to ice hockey that resulted in medical care and then was reported to Folksam. The results are presented with descriptive statistics such as mean and standard deviation, median range and frequencies. ResultsThe head was the most common injury localization followed by the upper extremity where the shoulder accounted for a high number of injuries. Fracture was the most common type of injury for both male and female players.

The post-modern western city is going through two central changes in the organization of paid labour. One is the switch from production of goods to production of services, and the other is the increasing rift between well-paid labour with permanent jobs, and temporarily employed workers with low wages. Both of these processes are rasified and gendered, and strike harder against women, young persons and people of emigrant background. The flexible capitalism creates an informalization of the economy, breaking with earlier regulations of the labour markets, in which workers also need to find informal strategies in their individual and collective struggles. In this paper, I search for these ?new? experiences of living and working in late capitalist society, by doing open interviews with three women of Latin-American origin, working without official permission (without documents) in the informal economy of Stockholm.

Kronisk hjärtsvikt är ett permanent tillstånd där hjärtat har svårigheter att upprätthålla en tillräcklig slagvolym. I Sverige är det ungefär 250 000 personer som lever med sjukdomen och antalet personer med sjukdomen förmodas öka i framtiden. Målsättningen för behandlingen är att lindra symtom, reducera symtomens bakomliggande orsaker och förbättra livskvaliteten. Om sjuksköterskan ger patienten en god patientutbildning får denne goda förutsättningar för att kunna utföra en bra egenvård. En bra egenvård kan resultera i reducerad risk för en försämring av sjukdomen samt ökad livskvalitet.

Stockholm is considered as a tourist destination which has a lot of offers to attract tourists and if it utilizes it water better it can give a wonderful and unique experiences and cold baths may become an image to it.The aim of this study is to shed light on the open-air swimming-baths and shores of Stockholm. Also how to use this advantage as it?s a city based on many islands, the purest water in Europe and this makes Stockholm as a destination a very attractive place for tourism. For a better understanding of our study, we have studied the quality and quantity to see how people began to exploit open-air swimming-baths throughout history everywhere in Europe and specifically of Stockholm city sea shore. We did a study on the history traditions of open-air swimming-baths and how it can be a tourist attraction through books and interviews, scientific articles and our personal observation, so that we can analyze how to develop sustainable tourism in the future and how Stockholm city can make development of opportunities for the future.

Syftet med studien är att förstå varför medarbetarna på avdelningen Capital Goods, DeLaval, trots rörlig ersättning som motivationshöjare, har svårt att uppnå de mål som är uppsatta i deras balanserade styrkort. Syftet är vidare att komma med förbättringsförslag till ledningen om hur de ytterligare kan motivera sina medarbetare. Varför har medarbetarna på Capital Goods, DeLaval svårt att uppnå de utsatta målen på deras balanserade styrkort? Vad motiverar medarbetarna på Capital Goods till att uppnå målen som är uppsatta på de balanserade styrkorten?Studien är kvalitativ karaktär där intervjuer med chefer har genomförts för att få en bättre förståelse av problemet. Studien är också kvantitativ karaktär, där en enkätundersökning genomfördes för att komplettera de kvalitativa intervjuerna och stärka reliabiliteten i vår studie. I vår undersökning framkom att de flesta orsakerna till lägre måluppfyllelse är sammanlänkade med varandra.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur tillhandahållandet av tjänster i kommuner - via upphandling eller i egen regi - påverkas av vissa faktorer. De faktorer som undersöks är kommunstorlek (befolkningsmängd), kommunens intäkter, upplevd svårighet att kontraktera leverans av tjänst samt allmänhetens känslighet för eventuella problem som kan uppstå gällande tillhandahållandet av tjänsten. För att förstå hur kommunen tar dessa beslut analyseras faktorerna med teori om transaktionsspecificitet och transaktionskostnad. Studien utgår även från principal?agentproblemet, public choice och konkurrensteori.Studien baseras på empirisk data insamlad via en enkät om kommuners uppfattning av vissa tjänsters egenskaper samt statistik från Statistiska centralbyrån. Resultaten visar att kommunens befolkningsmängd har ett positivt samband med sannolikheten för upphandling och att graden av kontraktssvårighet har ett negativt samband med sannolikheten för upphandling, i enlighet med ovan-nämnda teorier.

AbstractThis paper is a comparative study of the final reports of the Norwegian and Danish power studies performed in 2003. While the Danish study found that democracy is thriving, the conclusion of the Norwegian power study was that democracy is in a crisis. The purpose of this paper is to find explanations to why the studies in two Nordic countries arrived at such different results.Methodologically, the paper consists of an ideological text analysis and critical analyses of the discourse. In order to study how the results of the power studies can differ so considerably, the following aspects have been surveyed; 1) external contexts (government inquiries); 2) work process (the researchers? background, role and co-operation); 3) the problem areas and themes studied; and 4) power perspectives.

Fusionen mellan Arla och MD Foods är "Fusionen som ingen har prövat förut" har Jens Bigum verkställande direktör i Arla Foods som överskrift på sin VD-berättelse i årsredovisningen år 2000. I samband med fusionen bildades världens största mejerikooperativa företag. Det har tidigare inte gjorts någon djupare analys av fusionen mellan Arla och MD Foods. Transnationella fusioner mellan två företag hyllas ofta som en lösning. Fördelar i samband med en fusion kan vara: mer resurser och säkrad framtid för mjölkproducenterna. Det är dock inte alltid fusionerna lever upp till förväntningarna.

Fornföreningen Fibula on the Aland Islands contacts the author because its members want to create a museum.The purpose of this two years master?s thesis in Archive, Library and Museum studies is to shed light on what a museum really is. The research question I have answered is ?what is a museum and is this what Fibula really wants in their reconstructed Viking village??. Based on interview material, ethnographic field studies, relevant research in the subject and documents from Fibula, I have answered the research question.

This thesis was written by order of Rud Pedersen Public Affairs Company, a PR- consultancy firm located in Gothenburg. The assignment was to investigate social media in Pr- activities. The thesis is formed by three main categories:? What is social media?? Who are using social media?? How can you use social media in public relations?The information which is being presented in this thesis is based on academic reports, interviews and research on social media blogs and lectures. It is a qualitative approach since the purpose is to get a deeper understanding for the subject in question.

Electroretinography is an examination method where the function of the retina is objectively assessed. In 2002 the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmology (ECVO) published a proposition to a standard on how to perform ERG examinations, to facilitate comparison of results and to make it possible to repeat examinations. The purpose of this study was to validate parts of the canine ERG protocol suggested by the ECVO. Our principal aim was to study if there is any interference at the recommended stimulus intervals for dark-adapted rod- and combined rod-/cone responses. The results show that there is an effect on the a- and b-wave amplitudes when different stimulus intervals are employed. When all examined intervals are pooled, there is an increase in the median b-wave to each consecutive dim, white (rod) stimulus in a series of four.

Insjuknandet i hjärtinfarkt kommer ofta plötsligt och utan förvarning. Många som drabbas är friska sedan tidigare och insjuknandet innebär en förändrad livssituation för de drabbade. För kvinnor som drabbas av hjärtin- farkt är symtombilden ofta mer diffus än männens. Det medför svårigheter för kvinnorna att inse att de är sjuka och i behov av vård, vilket bidrar till att de söker vård senare än männen. Den försenade vården och behandlingen kan medföra sämre prognos för kvinnornas hjärtsjukdom.
