I denna uppsats undersöks hur alternativa viktningsmetoder av OMXS30 har presterat mellan 2004-2010. Studien har sin utgångspunkt i teorierna kring Capital Asset Pricing Model och Effektiva Marknadshypotesen. Syftet med studien är att undersöka huruvida ett kapitalviktat index är effektivt i enlighet med dessa teorier. I studien konstrueras fem stycken index, ett kapitalviktat, två fundamentalviktade, ett riskviktat och ett kombinationsviktat index. För att avgöra indexens historiska prestation analyseras de utifrån utvärderingsmått som mäter riskjusterad avkastning.

This thesis seeks to investigate the relationship between municipal policy for housing supply and the planning of new housing in Sweden. Through a case study of Göteborg municipality and a comparative content analysis of Göteborgs policy for housing supply and a number of plans featuring housing the analysis seeks to investigate the effect of policy for housing supply as a tool for securing the demand for housing in the Swedish municipalities. The thesis also seeks to discuss its findings using theory concerning the implementation of policy and the general planning situation for Swedish municipalities today. The result of the analysis shows that most plans fail to regulate most of the content suggested in the policy for housing supply, particularly regarding aspects such as pricing, type of housing and type of ownership. The result also points towards a relationship regarding the prevalence of municipal land contracts and compatibility to policy for housing supply as well as a connection between how extensive the plans are in their proposed land use and their compatibility with policy for housing supply.

Syfte: Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka läkemedelsföretag för att sedan jämföra läkemedelsbranschen med stockholmsbörsen för att se hur läkemedelsbranschen påverkats av finanskrisen på slutet av 2000-talet.Metod: Studien bygger på en hypotesprövning och författarna har valt att använda en deduktiv ansats och en kvantitativ datainsamlingsmetod för att samla in data kring läkemedelsaktier.Teori: Studiens analyser bygger på två teoretiska modeller. Den ena är CAPM (Capital Asset Pricing Model) som är en modell som används för att räkna fram avkastningskravet för aktieägarna. Det andra är ett teorem (Modigliani-Millers) avseende kapitalstruktur och som behandlar marknadsvärdet på ettbolag oberoende av finansieringsform eller distribution av utdelningar.Empiri: Jämförelser mellan Stockholmsbörsens generalindex och de fem största läkemedelsbolagen visar på att läkemedelsbolagen delvis följer börsens utveckling. Men över tid så visar sig läkemedelsaktierna vara stabilare och återhämtar sig snabbare än börsen som helhet.Slutsats: Till en början kan man se att finanskrisen har påverkat hela börsen inklusive läkemedelsbranschen. Dock visar en närmare observation av händelsen att läkemedelsaktierna återhämtar sig betydligt fortare och att de totalt sett inte svänger lika mycket..

Orust Kretsloppsakademi is a nonprofit organisation, with a goal of annually generate the same amount of electrical energy that is consumed. Orust is an island on the west coast of Sweden, north of Gothenburg. The population of 15 000 reaches 40 000 during summer, due to the large amount of vacationer. The total electricity demand is 174 GWh a year with a maximum power need of 32 MW. This report presents an analysis for the plausibility of their plan and from a power system stability perspective, the effects on the electrical grid.The conclusion is that the restraints for development of power generation from wind, solar and wave generation, are the power systems capability to transfer power, primarily in the transformers of the grid.

The purpose of this thesis is to describe and analyze how the mining equipment producers on a global market manage to handle the changing conditions concerning customer value. Our approach has been a comparative analysis between two different sites in order to answer the purpose. The case studies at Metso Mining have been made through interviews and visits at two geographical markets, South America and Scandinavia. The theoretical framework applied on our empirical findings is based on Blue Ocean Strategy, Customer Value and Resourced Based View. The empirical foundation is based on interviews with Metso Mining employees at Sorocaba in Brazil and Kiruna/Gällivare, Trelleborg and Staffanstorp in Sweden.

This thesis describes the redesign ofequipment designed for drying bags thatis used in Fresenius Kabis´manufacturing of their nutritionmedicine in Uppsala. The need of thistask arise during the start of thedevelopment of a new packaging line werethis equipment were meant to be used. Anevaluation of the bagdryers capacity andcapability was necessary.The work started with gathering ofinformation from suppliers of the usedcomponents and from the responsibleengineers for this equipment. Aneducation to learn how the equipmentworked and how to operate it were taken.That was followed by the creation of astudy plan were the tests were plannedto test different parameters effect onthe drying result and to see if thebagdryer managed to handle the bags ofthe correct format in the pace that theequipment should be designed for.The test results detected a need ofdesigning a unit with a function thatholds the bags in place while passingthrough the dryer in order to attainhigh quality results. The results werelater used for optimization of thedesign.

Syftet med arbetet är att få en förståelse för moss-sedumtakets bullerdämpande egenskaper. Jag kommer även att försöka förutsäga med hjälp av akustikteori vilken utav de två olika uppbyggnadssystemen av moss-sedumtak som ger den bästa bullerdämpande effekten.Mätningarna kommer att bestå i att registrera ljudtrycksnivån i rummet, vid varje oktavband i frekvensområdet 125-4000 Hz. Först utan moss-sedummattan och sedan med moss-sedum mattan. Storleken på differensen i ljudnivån ger en bild av i vilket frekvensområde som ljudabsorptionen är effektivast. För att ytterliggare öka förståelsen för hur moss-sedum absorberar ljud så kommer även absorptionsfaktorn att beräknas.

Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka börstrendens inverkan av resultaten för två olika tekniska analysmodeller, glidande medelvärde och Relative Strength Index (RSI). Som dataunderlag används 12 aktier från Stockholmsbörsens A-lista för Mest omsatta aktier mellan 1988-03-01 och 2004-03-01.I studien tillämpas blankning för att oberoende av den rådande trenden ha möjlighet att generera överavkastning. Överavkastningen undersöks genom att riskjustera avkastningen med Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM). Vidare belastas varje transaktion med en courtageavgift.Det visar sig att endast köpsignalerna är statistiskt signifikanta.

We live in a stressful world and a demanding society where the ability to quickly adapt is one of the most important and most difficult challenges of today. A fairly new phenomenon called intranets has evolved to meet this challenge, however many examples of corporative intranets are stories about failures and systems with poor usability. This study focuses on how the user oriented approach to systems design affected upon a system development process of an Intranet, solely developed within a company, and how it impacts on the intranets popularity among the employees in the company. The study starts not from the literature but from a survey, which is based upon the Delphi method. Which results were used for further in-depth research about the subject, by interviewing three representatives from the company.

Svårigheter att kombinera arbete och barn ses som en av de främsta anledningarna till den låga fertiliteten i Sydeuropa. I Skandinavien med välfärdsinstitutioner som ger stöd för föräldrar att kunna kombinera arbete och familjeliv är fertiliteten desto högre. Studier på individnivå har visat samband mellan individers arbetsvillkor och resurser och deras möjligheter att skaffa barn, däremot efterfrågas fler studier som jämför detta samband mellan olika länder med olika institutionellt stöd. I denna studie ligger fokus på sambandet mellan arbetsvillkor och individuella resurser och barnafödandet i Sverige och Spanien, två länder med olika institutionellt stöd för familjebildning, och huruvida dessa samband skiljer sig mellan länderna. Genom att tillämpa Amatya Sen?s capability-perspektiv fördjupas förståelsen för hur den institutionella kontexten tillsammans med individuella livssituationen formar människors olika möjligheter att skaffa barn.

This paper aims to explore the relationship between financial risk and ESG scores in order to assist investors in making investment decisions. We investigate the hypothesis that there is a relationship between the ESG score of a company, and the financial risk in terms of volatility in the relevant company?s share price. The paper is grounded in sustainability reporting and financial risk. With the world facing significant changes and natural disasters, there is an urgent need for action to mitigate environmental impacts to avoid devastating consequences.

Det finns goda skäl att tro att insiders tack vare sin ställning har bättre möjligheter att bedöma den egna verksamheten än utomstående aktörer. Det finns även skäl att tro att insiders, precis som alla andra rationella investerare utnyttjar tillgänglig information i sina privata affärer. Detta utmynnar i uppsatsens frågeställning; förhåller det sig så att personer med insynsställning gör bättre affärer i de egna bolagen än övriga marknadsaktörer? Skulle det visa sig att insiders affärer överlag genererade överavkastning borde det vara en utmärkt investeringsstrategi att replikera deras transaktioner. Den modell som används i studien bygger på en ny metod att jämföra den faktiska avkastningen för en period med avkastningen för samma tidsram som förväntades vid periodens början.

Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to test for the existence of Capital Structure Arbitrage oppertunities in the equity-credit markets. Methodology: The mispricing of Credit Default Swap contracts are calculated and used as input in an Equity-Credit market trading strategy. The returns are then evaluated with a modified Value-at-Risk simulation. Theoretical perspectives: A Merton-based structural model, CreditGrades, is used for credit pricing and a mispricing-convergence trading-strategy between the credit and equity markets is implemented. Empirical foundation: Daily quotes for the Credit Default Swap spread of 37 European firms were collected for a period of two years, as well as equity-prices for the same period and the previous two years, used for model calibration.

The purpose of this study is to find out the viability in performing final felling in stands with high timber volume or if it´s more profitable to leave these stands to the next owner. Will he or she pay more for the standing stock then the industry? The prices of forest-land have increased significantly over the last couple of years in Sweden and some properties seem to go higher than others. Is this because of higher standing stock volume or can a certain volume/hectare bring a higher price? Maybe a combination of both? This study is based on the the sale-statistics for 2012 from real-estate agency Areal.
