Syftet med studien var att undersöka konsekvenserna avseende fallolyckor bland äldre, samt att undersöka vilka preventiva metoder som presenteras i internationell vetenskaplig litteratur. Metod: Studien genomfördes som en systematisk litteraturstudie. Databassökningen gjordes i Blackwell Synergy och ELIN@Dalarna. De vetenskapliga artiklarna som ingick i studien var skrivna på svenska eller engelska samt publicerade mellan åren 1999 och 2007. Artiklarnas vetenskapliga kvalitet bedömdes utifrån granskningsmallar.

AbstractThis study investigates the impact of storytelling for children's language development in preschool from a sociocultural perspective. The purpose is to find what narrative methods teachers use to promote children's language development. I also want to examine whether the children are involved in the storytelling. To get answers to my questions which include what methods teachers use, narrative meaning and function, and their children's participation, I have used qualitative interviews with four preschool teachers at four different preschools.The results of my survey show that teachers use a variety of methods at storytelling. The most common methods were reading, rhymes and daily storytelling while eating.

Preventive measurements as well as clinical caries diagnostics are vital to retain a good dental health in the population. In order for optimal caries diagnostics radiographs are used. There is a great intra- and intervariation regarding cariesprogression. A large number of tools for cariesprevention at home or in the clinic are today used. The aim of this journal study was to compare the progression of carieslesions in the approximal area, diagnosed on radiographs, and preventive measures used to reduce cariesprogression between two examine dates on two dental clinics.

This study explores the effects of two different post-treatment methods on stain reduction in glazed creamware from the late 20th century. The objects stains have been characterized by type one and type two stains which is the result of prolonged contact with food residues, were subjected to the same initial stain reduction. The two post-treatment methods examined are soaking the objects in deionized water and surface rinsing with deionized water. The comparative analysis included photographs under normal and UV-light exposure to assess stain visibility, weight measurements before and after treatments to monitor the absorption and evaporation of liquids, and observations throughout the experiment. The results revealed that while type two stains showed significant alterations after treatments, specifically after soaking, type one stains remained unaffected by both methods.

The aim of my study is to examine how six teachers discuss their choices of work methods in teaching mathematics, as well as the methods they are currently using and what they have based their choices on. This study also covers how these teachers approach educational planning and where they get inspiration for their teaching material, and finally the advantages and disadvantages of each method according to the teachers. To be able to fulfill my purpose of this study some questions had to be considered: How do these teachers approach the planning of studies of mathematics and where do they find ideas for their lesson planning? Which methods do these teachers use in the teaching of mathematics and what are the reasons behind their choices of methods? Which advantages and disadvantages do these teachers see in the methods they use during the teaching of mathematics? This is a qualitative study, mainly based on qualitative research interviews according to an interview guide. Six teachers, from five different elementary schools, grade 1- 3, have been interviewed for this study.

Höftfrakturer bland äldre personer är en fruktad komplikation inom vården. Utfallet av dessa frakturer var ofta dåligt men det går att förebygga. De flesta som drabbas av höftfrakturer är postmenopausala kvinnor med osteoporos. Syftet med vår studie var att sammanfatta omvårdnadsinterventioner som kan förebygga höftfrakturer hos äldre kvinnor med osteoporos och trender inom området. Metoden för vår studie var systematisk litteraturöversikt.

Social and emotional learning is getting more and more common to work with in Swedish schools today. That has made it more actual to do studies of how you best can implement a method in health prevention and promotion in schools and how you do for to keep the work sustainable. There are some American studies that describe implementation of methods in schools and a few studies that describe implementation of methods for social and emotional learning in schools. It is important to see implementation as a process and not as an individual event. The process never end but continues as a cycle in three phases; readiness phase, planning phase and implementation phase.The aim of this study was to describe teachers and principals experiences of obstacles and possibilities at implementation of an evidence based program for social an emotional learning in compulsory school as a part of the schools health promotion activities.

Today there are various methods to use when euthanizing horses. Earlier the use of free or captive bullet was the most common method, but in recent decades this has changed and chemical euthanasia is now considered the most common method. The study evaluated the Mutant Prevention Concentration (MPC) of Pradofloxacin on three Escherichia coli (E.coli) strains, 2 wildtypes and one first-step gyrA resistant mutant. We also measured the value of AUC (Under the Concentration)/MPC that prevents growth of resistant mutants. It is of importance to reach a concentration above MPC that prevent E.coli from developing resistance against the antibiotic.We used an in vitro kinetic model where we added bacteria? and antibiotic. The culture flask was attached to a pump with an adjustable pump-speed.

SAMMANFATTNINGBakgrund: Tobaksbruk är ett stort folkhälsoproblem och majoriteten av alla människor som använder tobak började sitt tobaksbruk i tonåren, därför är det viktigt med information om tobaksbruk i tidig ålder. Den evidensbaserade metoden Tobaksfri duo infördes 2010 på tre skolor i Uppland. Tobaksfri duo är ett långsiktigt arbetssätt som bygger på information och attitydpåverkan bland ungdomar mellan 12-15 år.Syfte: Syftet med studien var att studera föräldrars åsikter om och upplevelser av tobaksfri duo.Metod: Studien genomfördes som en kvalitativ studie med en deskriptiv design och semistrukturerade fokusgrupper i två olika skolor med totalt fem deltagare.Resultat: Tre kategorier framkom: Samstämmig syn på att motstå tobaksbruk, Vuxnas engagemang är nyckeln till tobaksfria ungdomsår och Redskap för att nå framgång. Resultatet visade att föräldrarna var mycket positiva till metoden då den innehöll olika faktorer för att hjälpa ungdomar att motstå tobak. Det är av vikt att samtliga i skolan, både elever och personal, följer metodens budskap.

Within the literature and film sciences there are clear models of storytelling and methods of creating a good story. In the game industry it's more difficult because the games are often non-linear, and games are a less established medium than the other two. With this study our purpose was to examine game developers and methods they used when creating a videogame, with focus on storytelling. Four interviews were made with representatives from four different videogame companies in Sweden. The information from the interviews was put in relation to theories regarding the structure of videogames and an established model for creating videogames.
