Pedagogisk samling i förskolan : En kvalitativ studie om förskollÀrarnas tankar kring samlingens betydelse för barns sprÄkliga och sociala utveckling

The purpose of this study is to examine how pre-school teachers think about the importance of circle time in regard to the child's language and social development from a sociocultural perspective. Furthermore the study will include what role the educators? have during the circle time.To answer our purpose we have chosen the following question:What is the role of the teachers in the circle time?What are the teacher?s thoughts about the circle time?s importance to children's social development?What are the teacher?s thoughts about the circle time?s importance to children's language development?The study is constructed on qualitative methods, where we conducted structured interviews with six preschool teachers and observed their circle time to collect our empirical material. The study is also based on Vygotsky's sociocultural perspective which says that all learning takes place through relations and interaction with other people in the cultural context you are in. The results have shown that pre-school teachers are aware of the circle time?s importance to children?s development, and purposely plan the circle time to give children the opportunity to develop both socially and linguistically skills..

Families with limited financial resources risk social exclusion in today?s consumption-based society, where status and identity are tied to items like clothing, gifts and activities. Limited financial resources can therefore often lead to social isolation because consumption is central to social participation, something that can rarely be prioritized in poor families. In preschool, unclear policies on extra costs can negatively affect families. The purpose of the study was to investigate how socioeconomically vulnerable families experience and are affected by the preschool and its requirements, as well as how preschool teachers work to reduce the economic gap among families in the preschool context.

Genom den verksamhetsförlagda tiden (VFT) och olika arbeten pÄ förskolor under utbildningens gÄng har pedagoger i möten framhÄllit att motivationen för yrket sjunker.

NyanlÀnda förÀldrar och den svenska skolan : om relationen mellan lÀrarna och nyanlÀnda förÀldrar

This study rises up an untouched area of ??research where the relationship between newly arrived parents and teachers is examined from a structural perspective. Previous research has looked only at the interaction between parents and teacher; this study is thus a theoretical contribution to the research. The aim of the study is met by examining the perceptions newly arrived parents have of their meeting with the Swedish school, the relationship with their children?s teacher, cooperation, collaboration between home and school, as well as their own influence in their children's learning.

Strategier för inkludering : - En intervjustudie om förskollÀrares strategier för barns inkludering i lek

Jag har utfört en studie dÀr jag granskat vilka strategier och lekregler förskollÀrare anvÀnder sig av i verksamheten för att inkludera barn i lek. För att fÄ svar pÄ detta har jag anvÀnt mig av tidigare forskning och litteratur som jag anser vara relevant för min undersökning. Den innefattar frÀmst vad lek Àr och vilka förutsÀttningar ett barn behöver behÀrska för att kunna leka samt lekteorier och strategier för att inkludera barn i lek. Metoden jag anvÀnt mig av för att besvara mina frÄge-stÀllningar Àr kvalitativ intervju och jag har intervjuat fem verksamma förskollÀrare som arbetar med barn i Äldern 1-5 Är. I resultatet framkom att det Àr förskollÀrarnas ansvar att inkludera alla barnen i leken och att det Àr förskollÀrarnas deltagande i leken som frÀmjar ett inkluderande.

Riskhanteringen ingÄr i kulturen : En kvalitativ studie av riskhantering i en ideell idrottsförening

Studies among parents of children with disabilities have shown that they experience a higher level of parenting stress as well as a lower degree of wellbeing, compared to parents of children without disabilities. However, there is a need to further explore parents? experience on this matter within a Swedish context. The aim of the current study was to examine how parents of preschool children, with and without disabilities, in VĂ€sterbotten, experience the impact of their child. A sample of 67 parents of children with disabilities and 134 parents of children without disabilities took part in the questionnaire study.

The purpose of the study is to highlight educators' preferences and attitudes towards tablet in preschool by describing the use of this digital tool in the preschool educational activities. The use of tablet in preschool is in the study looked upon as a phenomenon. The description of the phenomenon is built on the analysis and interpretation of educators' statements about it. The research questions focus on the following aspects: educators' attitudes towards the tablet and its use in pre-school educational activities, the tablet's current area of use, the culture surrounding the use of this digital tool and the educators? statements about advantages and disadvantages of tablet's use in preschool.

Tar vi barnens intresse för natur och teknik pÄ allvar? : En kvalitativ studie om hur nÄgra förskollÀrare resonerar runt möjligheterna att ta tillvara barnens intresse för naturvetenskap och teknik i förskolan

The purpose of this study was to examine and compare what six preschool teachers thought about their opportunities to take advantage of children's interest in natural sciences and technology, across four kindergartens. The following questions were explored in order to achieve the aim of the study: How do the preschool teachers interviewed describe their work with science and technology in the preschool and what these preschool teachers think about the meaning of motivation in the children?s learning of natural sciences and technology in preschool.  The study used a qualitative approach in the form of semi-structured interviews and interviewed a total of six trained pre-school teachers from four kindergartens with different profiles. The first kindergarten focuses on mathematics, science and technology.

Fysikdiskursen pÄ Komvux : Betydelsen av student-lÀrarinteraktioner

This study draws upon the framework for analyzing the discourse of a science classroom introduced by Mortimer and Scott (2003). It has been used for many studies before on high school youths, but never on adults. Therefore, this study focuses on the interaction between teacher and students in an adult education on high school level in physics, and how students can change the classroom discourse. Observations took place in two different schools for adults, in four different teaching groups. The result was analyzed by pattern of interactions, communicative approach, teaching purpose, type of student questions and their effect on the classroom discourse.

Oro för barn som far illa : förskolechefers tillÀmpning av anmÀlningsskyldigheten

The purpose of this study was to investigate how directors of preschool apply the mandatory reporting and what information they say is important in the decision to report child maltreat-ment. The study was built on five semi-structure interviews with five directors of preschool working in Greater Stockholm. The perspective of this paper is sociology of law theory. This means to study how out of law information makes sense when director of preschool applies the mandatory reporting. The result was analysed with three different analytic tools: action plan, consulting social services and the considerations of the directors of preschool them-selves.

FÖRSTASPRÅK I FÖRSKOLAN : En studie av vilket stöd barn med annat förstasprĂ„k Ă€n svenska fĂ„r pĂ„ nĂ„gra förskolor i en kommun i Mellansverige

The purpose of this study is to see how preschool teachers can support multilingual children and promote their development in their first languages. It was chosen to look at a specific municipality to see how the preschool teachers there work with multilingual children. By using the method of structured interviews, it was learnt that they do, in fact, work actively with multilingual children. The preschool teachers interviewed received the same questions in order to make the answers as comparable and measurable as possible. The results seem to indicate that more resources are needed to fulfil the needs of children with another first language than Swedish.

Modulbyggd förskola - Framtiden?

In 1999 the childbearing increased, which in combination with the closure of a number ofpreschools led to the shortage and reduced capacity in available places for youngchildren. The lack of places in preschools has led us to try to find a solution to theproblem and in order to solve the problem we have interviewed personnel of preschoolsin Halmstad. The persons we met were asked to list advantages and disadvantages oftheir preschool and also to come up with innovative solutions and new ideas of how todevelop a satisfactory preschool. This was the basis for us when we drew our drawingsand our main objective was to find a new template for the development of pre-fabricatedpreschools.When drawing a new and modern preschool a number of considerations have to be made,first of all the main objective for the children is play and playtime, a second objective issound reduction and laws about sound reduction. Another consideration is how toconstruct the building and which method to be used, for instance should industrialtechniques be considered and pros and cons be listed.The main disappointment amongst the preschool personnel was that they had noinfluence in the planning stage of the new development of the preschool.

?Det Àr sÄ integrerat i mitt tÀnkande? : fem arbetslags resonemang om matematikens roll i förskolan

The background to the study was that the school agency published a report stating that students, after completing school, did not meet the criteria to receive the grade ?Pass? in mathematics. The study presents the reasoning of work teams from five different preschool departments?, about ways to work with the subject with children in the ages four to five. The study may help future teachers to develop new attitudes regarding mathematics in the preschool, by letting them take part of others pedagogues? thoughts and experiences.

Instrumentalmusik som medierande verktyg i förskolan : Instrumentalmusik som strategi för att frÀmja barns sprÄkutveckling

Syftet med denna studie Àr att undersöka om pedagogerna medvetet stödjer förskolebarns sprÄkutveckling genom att aktivera barnens koncentrationsförmÄga med hjÀlp av instrumentalmusik. För att ta reda pÄ detta genomfördes en enkÀtundersökning via internet bland pedagoger inom förskolan.  Resultatet frÄn undersökningen visar att instrumentalmusik enligt pedagogerna kan anvÀndas för att stÀrka barns koncentrationsförmÄga, samt att de anser att koncentrationsförmÄgan i sin tur har positiv inverkan pÄ barns sprÄkutveckling. Dock tyder resultatet pÄ att inte alla respondenter gör den kopplingen hela vÀgen. De flesta ser sambandet mellan instrumentalmusik och koncentration respektive mellan koncentration och sprÄkutveckling, men de kopplar inte ihop alla tre komponenterna.

Matematik i förskolan : En jÀmförelsestudie mellan en traditionell förskola och montessoriförskola

This work is about how teachers describe their work with mathematics in a traditional nursery school and a Montessori preschool. Another aim is to study how children mathematise on the two different preschools and to see if there are any differences between the various educational theories and practices mathematising. I have used two methods wich is interviews with preschool teachers, and observation of the children. The results of my study was that differences exist but the biggest difference is the material that Montessori uses. The difference between the teachers' way of teaching mathematics is to Montessori preschool places great emphasis on the material and how it is used, while in the traditional preschool puts the emphasis on learning through interaction with others.
