Syftet med studien var att beskriva förekomst och typ av patienters eventuella oro inför anestesi. Litteraturöversikten har baserats på vetenskapliga artiklar av både kvantitativ och kvalitativ art. Trettioen artiklar granskades och 21 av dessa valdes ut till resultatet.De flesta studier som behandlade oro inför anestesi var av kvantitativ art. Oro i form av olika slags olustkänslor definierades av flera författare utförligt och på flera sätt. Resultatet påvisade att oro var ett vanligt förekommande fenomen och kunde objektivt mätas med hjälp av självskattningsskalor, där de vanligast förekommande är Visuel Analog Skala (VAS) och State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI).

Heart rate variability shows the balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system, also called sympathovagal balance. Heart rate variability can be measured by time domain - and frequency domain analysis. In a time domain analysis you study the beat-to-beat-interval (RR-interval) in an electrocardiogram (ECG), while a frequency domain analysis can be used to determine the size of the variability.

Humor har visatsig ha en positiv inverkan på interaktionen mellan patient och vårdare. Syfte: Att sammanställa kunskap om hur patientenoch sjuksköterskan kan uppleva humor i omvårdnaden och hur humor kan användassom ett kommunikationsredskap. Metod: Metodenvar litteraturstudie.

The effects of dexmedetomidine and butorphanol sedation on skin reactivity during intradermal testing in healthy dogs were evaluated. The effects of dexmedetomidine and butorphanol were compared to medetomidine, a sedative agent having scientific proof of not interfering with skin test reactivity, in a randomised, double blind, cross over study performed on 8 adult dogs. The dogs were sedated with medetomidine (Domitor vet.®, 0,01 ml kg-1) intravenously, or dexmedetomidine and butorphanol intramuscularly (Dexdomitor vet.®, 0,01 ml kg-1; Dolorex vet., 0,01 ml kg-1) after which they received intradermal injections of positive control solutions (histamine 0,1 mg ml-1, 0,05 mg ml-1, 0,025 mg ml-1), a negative control solution (0,9 % NaCl) and allergen extract (Dermatophagoides farinae, Cladosporium and Artemisia vulgaris). After a wash out period the trial was repeated with a reversed sedation protocol.Skin reactivity (wheal size, induration and erythema) and quality of sedation (immobilization, response to stimuli and injections as well as over all working conditions) were evaluated. The combination of dexmedetomidine and butorphanol provided reliable, good sedation and analgesia without adverse effects.

Problem: Patient education regarding stoma self-care is an important part of the nurse?s work within stoma care. The patient is depending on the guidance of the nurse and therefore it is relevant to illuminate the importance of education regarding gaining ability to perform self-care.

Syfte: Att undersöka hur patienter på ett universitetssjukhus uppfattar information gällande preoperativ dusch samt patientens genomförande av duschen på avdelningen. Introduktion: Vårdrelaterade infektioner är vanliga och kan leda till ökade kostnader, långvarig sjukhusvistelse och ökad lidande för patienter. Ett sätt att förhindra detta är att duscha med klorhexidin före operation. Det är sjuksköterskans ansvar att informera patienten om den preoperativa duschen, kontrollera att patienten uppfattat informationen och har möjlighet och resurser att följa den. Metod: En kvalitativ deskriptiv intervjustudie med semistrukturerade frågor.

Att sövas inför en operation innebär att lämna över kontrollen av sina livsfunktioner och är en situation många patienter känner oro inför. För att kunna utveckla anestesisjuksköterskans preoperativa omhändertagande är kunskap om patienters upplevelser av omhändertagandet nödvändigt. Dessa upplevelser kommer att studeras med utgångspunkt i en teoretisk begreppsmodell om personcentrerad vård.Syfte: Att beskriva patienters upplevelse av det preoperativa omhändertagandet inför anestesi.Metod: Kvalitativa semi-strukturerade intervjuer kommer att genomföras med ett tiotal personer som i slutenvården genomgått en operation i generell anestesi. Intervjuerna kommer att analyseras med kvalitativ innehållsanalys. För att testa metod och forskningsplan genomfördes en pilotstudie där två forskningspersoner som nyligen genomgått en operation i generell anestesi intervjuades.

Velopharyngeal insufficiency may affect resonance, articulation and thus how speech is perceived by other listeners. Velopharyngeal insufficiency is frequently found in the cleft palate population due to structural abnormalities of the palate. The pharyngeal flap is the most commonly used operation designed to improve velopharyngeal function. The aim of the present study was to compare speech before and after pharyngeal flap surgery by perceptual evaluation regarding nasality, articulation and deviant speech. The study includes preoperative and postoperative speech samples of 28 patients who underwent pharyngeal flap surgery at the University Hospital in Linköping between 2002 and 2007.

Previously the company was forwarded orders through quarter based prognoses which enabled planning of the production over a longer time span. Currently the newer order system ZENIT is in use and the company thereby gets their orders weekly.
