In my work I have received a lot of concrete advice about improving the cooperation between landscape architects and contractors. Here is a list of suggestions from both cathegories: Landscape architect's advice: ? Be humble, show respect. ? A practical approach makes cooperation easier. ? Call together a startup meeting with all the consultants and builders. ? Establish a network of contacts with serious contractors whom you can recommend to customers. ? Don't hesitate to ask the contractor for advice; they often have lots of useful knowledge. ? It is important to have clearly written and thoroughly worked out documentation. ? Never let a newly graduated landscape architect visit the buiding site without the company of an experienced colleague.

Fashion creates reactions. It is a type of art form that constantly needs to be updated. This is the thrilling part about fashion, but it is also the part that can create unintentional reactions.In this essay I will examine two garments that have achieved a great amount of media coverage, both in Sweden and abroad. One of them is a jumpsuit from H&M that was criticized because of the resemblance to the uniform worn by the Peshmerga-soldiers in Kurdistan. The other garment is a children?s sweater launched by Zara.

It seems like Swedish municipalities are dominated by beliefs that all citizen participation is good for the development of local democracy. A critic of this certainty is rising among Swedish scholars of political science. However, a critic with an ambition of such generalization is harsh. Different democratic projects contents different qualities and thereby diverse problems in the democratic process. If these democratic problems within the process can be recognized, a deeper understanding can be found and in the prolongation a strengthening of the democracy.This essay examines the democratic process of Lomma municipality's democratic project of citizen participation.

In this essay, the aim is to empirically and theoretically study the parliamentary debate of the child pornography law. The empirical part is an attempt to discover eventual underlying gender stereotypes in the debate. A text analysis is conducted with material consisting of motions from members of parliament and of protocols from the parliamentary debate. In this material we try to find latent and manifest expressions of gender stereotypes. There are several stereotypes, which effects the argumentation and Prejudice of the debate, like stereotypes of the victims, the perpetrators and their characteristics.

A case study was done of Sthlm Policy Group, a consulting agency that mainly targets NGOs and government agencies in the peace and security sector. The goal of the case study was to explore the tendency of NGOs in Sweden to hire commercial consulting companies. The main interest was to see what the key reasons are for NGOs to hire private consulting agencies, but also to explore what problems that might be associated with such relationships. Interviews were carried out with representatives of the consulting agency, with its clients as well as with other NGOs that were identified as potential clients. The interviewed NGOs and government agencies were found to approve of the use of commercial consultants.

The aim of this study has been to examine how a few members of the Finnish and non- Scandinavian Romani subgroups experience their own, and their groups, situation on the Housing- and Labour Market. We´ve studied our respondents? experiences of discrimination, which difficulties they think there are, what strategies can be used to deal with these difficulties and also their own ideas on how to improve the situation for the Romani people in the Swedish society. This has been done by six individual structured interviews which have been analyzed with concepts from Symbolic Interactionism, including Goffman?s Dramaturgical Role Theory, definition of Stigma and Kelly?s theory of Personal Constructions.

Denna uppsats undersökte stereotypers inverkan på tre steg i en urvalsprocess: utformande av kravprofil, bedömning av sökande utifrån cv och anställningsintervju och slutligt anställningsbeslut. Studien utgick, med stöd av teorier om stereotypkonstruktion och social identitetsteori, ifrån att en kompetent utgruppsmedlem främst diskrimineras med hänvisning till brister i social kompetens. Hypoteserna var för det första att stereotyper om invandrare skulle bidra till högre krav på social kompetens i kravprofilen om gruppen av sökande var etniskt blandad jämfört med om denna bestod av enbart svenskar, och för det andra antogs denna skillnad därefter leda till en stereotyperad bedömning av de sökande och ett diskriminerande anställningsbeslut. Efter pilotstudier lades också hypotesen till att personer som är måna om att inte skatta sökande fördomsfullt ändå skulle tro att andra var benägna att göra det, vilket antogs påverka anställningsbeslutet. Ingen av hypoteserna fick stöd i resultaten.

Denna kvalitativa studie har i syfte att förstå hur stereotypa föreställningar påverkar unga kvinnor med ursprung i Mellanöstern. Studien är baserad på sex unga kvinnors tolkningar av samhällets stereotypa föreställningar kring denna grupp. Resultatet visar att majoriteten av informanterna blev någorlunda påverkade av dessa föreställningar. Fyra av respondenterna påverkades mer och upplevde att de många gånger var i behov av att bevisa att de negativa föreställningarna inte alltid stämmer. Föreställningarna om invandrarfamiljen är enligt informanterna överdramatiserade. Majoriteten ansåg att reglerna som fanns i hemmet inte handlade om kontroll, istället betonade de att föräldrar gör det av omsorg.

The purpose of this study is to examine modern constructions of Jane Austens work in films and in books on history of literature. The theoretical framework contains sociology of literature, cultural studies and film theory. I compared Jane Austens books Emma, Pride and Prejudice and Sense and sensibility with three film versions from recent years. In the books on history of literature I studied, I found three different attitudes towards history of literature, which also influenced the interpretation of Austens novels. The stories in Austens books and in the films are similar.

The purpose of this study is to examine the phenomenon ?Living library?, where people are lent out instead of books. First it is looked into what the Living library means to the person who is borrowing a living book and what it means to the living book itself. Than the Living library is put in a public library context. This is done through a case study of the city library of Helsingborg and the city library of Malmö.

This study examined if individuals act in a less discriminating way and in a more fair way when they receive instructions about justice and not being discriminating while recruiting. 96 randomly assigned students at the University of Lund participated in this study. The participants were informed that they would act as a recruiter. They would then choose and place three of the best personal record in order of preference. There were three different kinds of company policies/instructions.

Social exclusion is a problem in today?s society that we feel public libraries can help resolve since they are based on the idea of equality and openness. The purpose of this essay is to examine how public librarians think and reason about the concept ?integration? as well as what role public libraries can play in immigrants? integration process. With Jose Alberto Diaz? theory on the integration process, and Marianne Andersson and Dorte Skot-Hansen?s model for analysis of the local library profile as theoretical framework, we analyzed the responses from two qualitative interviews in small groups of 2-3 librarians from two different public libraries.

Background:Borderline personality disorder is a complex mental disorder that has become increasingly common in those individuals who seek care today. These individuals are often perceived as being different by society and the health care system, because of the Prejudice and lack of knowledge that exists around mental illness and borderline personality disorder. Aim: Highlighting adults experiences of living with a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder. Method: Literature study with qualitative approach. Seven articles were chosen to be read, reviewed and analyzed.

Stigmatisering kring människor som lever med humant immunbristvirus (HIV) är utbredd. Patienter som lever med viruset har inte bara symptomen av infektionen att ta itu med, de måste också handskas med den diskriminering och de fördomar som finns. Tidigare studier har visat att kunskapsnivån om hiv är låg bland hälso- och sjukvårdspersonal och att de är rädda för att själva smittas när de vårdar hivsmittade patienter. Tidigare studier visar även att sjukvårdpersonal dömer människor med HIV på grund av fördomar kring människors bakgrund och livsstil. Syftet med denna studie var att belysa patienter med HIV/AIDS upplevelser av mötet med vården.

Bakgrund Förutfattade meningar mot vårdpersonal är ett fenomen inom vården, särskilt mot manliga sjuksköterskor, som är en minoritet inom sjuksköterskeyrket. Tidigare forskning har fokuserat på specifika problemsituationer som uppstår i yrket för manliga sjuksköterskor, samhällets syn på manliga sjuksköterskor och att manliga sjuksköterskor priviligierats i arbetsgruppen. I litteraturen nämns ofta olika förutfattade meningar om manliga sjuksköterskor, trots att det saknas forskning med fokus på manliga sjuksköterskors egna upplevelser av förutfattade meningar mot dem.Syfte Syftet med studien är att belysa vilka förutfattade meningar som manliga sjuksköterskor upplever finns mot dem.Metod Litteraturstudie i form av en beskrivande metasyntes.Resultat Manliga sjuksköterskor upplever flera förutfattade meningar som presenteras i fyra teman: ?accepteras inte som sjuksköterskor?, ?muskler, lyfthjälp och tekniskkompetens?, ?antas vara homosexuella? och ?antas ha sexuella avsikter motpatienter?.Slutsats Upplevda förutfattade meningar kan påverka manliga sjuksköterskors syn på sig själv och yrkesrollen samt patientmötet och omvårdnaden. Dessa förutfattade meningar kan skapa konflikter och missnöje på arbetsplatsen vilket kan störa patientmötet och vårdrelationen.Klinisk Betydelse Genom att belysa förutfattade meningar som manliga sjuksköterskor upplever kan åtgärder vidtas för att motverka dem som påverkar vårdarbetet negativt..
