ABSTRACTThe discussions about energy use have increased year by year everywhere in the society, and so also in the healthcare sector. But what is actually energy use in a hospital facility, and what affects it?The typical way today to express the energy use is in kWh/m2. The problem with a key performance indicator that is expressed as energy use in relation to a specific area is that it does not take into account the activity in the building. Even though the activity to a very high extent affects the energy use.

Syfte:. Uppsatsens syfte är att utreda vad som har gjort företaget Medscand Medical framgångsrikt och med denna kunskap som grund utveckla lämplig framtida strategi för företaget. Fokus i strategiformuleringen rör hur företaget skall attrahera, stimulera och utveckla innovationer. Metod: En kvalitativ metod har använts där primärdata i from av intervjuer är den mest betydande informationskällan. Slutsatser: Denna uppsats har med vald teori och empiri analyserat Medscand Medicals framgångsfaktorer och utifrån dessa utvecklat lämplig framtida strategi för företaget.

During five weeks the authors, two physiotherapy students, completed a clinical practice at the rehabilitation center Pina Palmera, Zipolite, Oaxaca, Mexico. At the beginning of the period a critical incident was chosen, when the head physiotherapist for the ward Cuidados Especiales intended to sell jewellery to the authors during a treatment of a patient. The authors have by using the reflection framework "Framework to guide reflective process", and Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) for analysis, discussed different ways of communication, adherence, education, and self-reflection and critical thinking.

Bakgrund: I dagens samhälle pågår ständiga debatter om genus i olika kontexter, diskussionen om exempelvis löneskillnader, barnuppfostran och vårdande utifrån genus är närvarande i media, i såväl TV som tidningar och på internet. Studier har visat på att kvinnor och män uppfattar vårdande olika samt har olika preferenser för hur vårdandet skall utformas ? sjuksköterskor bör därför vara genusmedvetna i mötet med patienten för att kunna ge genuskänsligt vårdande utifrån en personcentrerad utgångspunkt.Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva patienters uppfattningar av vårdande ? ur ett genusperspektiv.Metod: Detta arbete har genomförts som en litteraturöversikt och har baserats på 14 stycken vetenskapliga artiklar som har analyserats med en kvalitativ designmetod. Arbetet är förankrat med utgångspunkt i Katie Erikssons teori om vårdande.Resultat: Resultatet utgörs av tre teman; (a) Kvinnor och mäns förväntningar samt önskemål för vårdande, (b) När förväntningar och önskemål ej tillgodoses samt (c) När förväntningar och önskemål tillgodoses. Olikheter mellan könen gällande uppfattningar av vårdande framkom främst vid missnöje.

Patients in intensive care are often intubated, and therefore unable to speak, which leads to difficulties in communication. The ICU is a very stressful environment and can be experienced as foreign and frightening by both patients and their close ones. The ICU nurse?s caring responsibilities includes both the care of the critically ill patient and the support of relatives who are often in shock. This balance is not always straightforward, and acting professionally in both instances can lead to problems.

Background: To be a parent to a child dying of cancer affect not just the parents themselves, but the whole family. Experiences of fear, powerlessness and anxiety surrounds them. Nurses need knowledge about parents? experiences to help and support these parents adequately. Aim: The aim of the study was to describe parents? experiences of losing a child to cancer, from diagnosis to the child?s death.

The present work has been implemented as a literature study aimed to investigate the prevalence, possibly causes and consequences of an eating disorder. In today's modern society individuals are living with a constant reminder from the media about how a person should look and act to blend into the social norms and expectations of the modern society. This literature review has been analysed on the basis of concepts such as identity, gender identity and gender. In addition previous research has been analysed in terms of themes, history, possible causes/risk factors, media, body image and control, depression, shame and guilt as well as culture. The above themes were analysed on the basis of behaviouristic theory and role theory.

Idag använder Försvarsmakten högteknologiska ledningssystem för att underlätta ledning på stridsfältet. Några av dessa system är idag utvecklade för internationella insatser mot en lågteknologisk motståndare, men vad skulle hända i en nationell konflikt mot en högteknologisk motståndare? I denna uppsats utvärderas SLB utifrån ett fiktivt framtidsscenario för att komma fram till tekniska eller taktiska anpassningar för att öka den militära nyttan med systemet.Studien bygger på för och nackdelar med SLB utifrån Försvarsmaktens sex grundläggande förmågor som sedan analyseras för att komma fram till anpassningsmöjligheter för SLB. En av de slutsatser som studien visar är vikten av realistiska övningar med systemet för att öva personalen mot en högteknologisk motståndare..

Försvarsmaktens sjukvårdsorganisation var under det kalla kriget och invasionsförsvarets dagar anpassad och dimensionerad för att kunna omhänderta tusentals skadade per dygn. Sedan 1990-talet har Försvarsmaktens inriktning fokuserat på internationella insatser. I kombination med förändringar inom det medicinska området, hotbilder, skadepanorama och folkopinionen har detta lett till nya förmågor inom den militära sjukvården. Sedan en tid har Försvarsmaktens inriktning ändrats till ett mer nationellt fokus. Vad har då hänt med sjukvårdsförmågorna? Denna uppsats använder sig av Moshe Kress teorier presenterade i boken ?Operational Logistics - The Art and Science of Sustaining Military Operations? för att göra en analys av de förmågor Försvarsmaktens insatsorganisation har idag.

Syfte och frågeställningarMitt syfte var att finna eventuella skillnader i träningseffekt mellan ren koncentrisk och excentrisk styrketräning. Jag har därmed utgått ifrån följande frågeställningar:? Skiljer sig tung excentrisk och koncentrisk styrketräning åt i effekterna på styrkeprestationer i form av hopptest och styrketest?? Skiljer sig effekterna av träningen åt mellan män och kvinnor?MetodUtifrån syftet och frågeställningarna gjorde jag en studie med ett antal testpersoner där de fick genomgå ett antal tester innan en träningsperiod och samma tester efter träningsperioden, som pågick i tio veckor. Hälften var kvinnor och hälften var män. Den ena gruppen tränade bara koncentriskt (KON) och den andra gruppen bara excentriskt (ECC).Testerna som utfördes före och efter träningsperioden var: isometrisk styrketest, omkretsmätning av lårmuskulaturen, squat jump, counter movment jump, drop jump och benpress i släde.ResultatDet fanns en tendens att den excentriska träningsgruppen hade en ökning av sin omkrets efter träningen, medan den koncentriska inte visade en sådan tendens.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the role of bibliotherapy at hospitals and also what knowledge of and insights on bibliotherapy a few Swedish hospital librarians have. Questions investigated are: What role do the hospital librarians think literature has in the treatment of a patient? What is their view on their role as a hospital librarian and do they believe that they can have a part in the treatment of a patient? Is the concept bibliotherapy commonly used or is there another term in use? How important is the linkage between healing and literature? In this study, the view on bibliotherapy is limited to a hospital perspective. The purpose of the study is therefore to investigate bibliotherapy at the hospital. Six qualitative interviews with hospital librarians were performed at three general or combined general/medical hospital libraries.

This degree project is an investigation of solar cells and their ability to deliver electric power as well as reducing the need for cooling. The main object of interest is a BASE-X shelter. The shelter is purchased by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, FMV to be used for command and camp in the new force called Nordic Battlegroup, NBG. The demand on the equipment is firstly that it should have a small weight to be easy to transport and handle and secondly to be easy to bring up fast. Therefore the choice of solar cell technology fell on thin film cells.

Background: Hypochondriasis is associated with marked impairments in physical and psychological functioning, work performance and increased health care utilization. The prevalence among medical outpatients is estimated to be between 4,2 % and 6,3 %. Notwithstanding there is deficient research in this area. Until recently no specific treatment has been clearly demonstrated to be effective. Objective: The aim was to investigate experiences of what it is like to live with hypochondriasis, but also to examine different treatment options.

Introduction In order to foster innovation of medical devices within the healthcare sector, a collaboration project, PUSH, has been initiated including the hospitals managed by the Stockholm County Council. The collaboration aims to capture ideas from employees and turn them into so called ?high-practice? products as well as facilitate the possibilities for medical device companies to try out their products in the settings of healthcare. Collaborations for innovation, comparable to the PUSH project, can be found in both Swedish and foreign regions, but some of them fail to survive due to obstacles affecting the progress of each collaboration. Avoiding the same destiny will be a challenge to the PUSH project.Purpose The purpose is to search for factors affecting organizational collaboration concerning innovation systems for medical device development.
