The aim of this Master´s thesis in Art History and Visual Studies is to examine the existence and theexpressions of openness and interior space in the contemporary Swedish architecture of singlefamilyhouses. Research has focused on open-plan housing with open connections between kitchenand living areas, large windows, walls of glass, high ceiling heights and entresol or loft levels, usingtwo case studies and analyses of seven reference objects. Interpretation is based onphenomenological theoretical perspectives.Houses that are more or less transparent permit views from both the inside and the outside. Adiscussion of this Potential dilemma is supported by sociological perspectives on identity, life-style,self-presentation, privacy and publicity..

Denna rapport har som syfte att samla erfarenhet kring de möjligheter och den Potential som finns i den EEG-teknik och de BCI-headset från NeuroSky som använts. Detta görs genom design och utveckling av ett spel som utnyttjar tekniken. Det finns redan idag ett mindre urval av sådana spel, men dessa har samtliga varit av mycket trivial karaktär och med en bristande förmåga att övertyga och engagera.Samtidigt som EEG-teknik når ut till konsumenter, ökar också allmänintresset för mental träning. Studier och rapporter visar indikationer på att sådan träning inte bara förbättrar hjärnans effektivitet, utan också kan förebygga vissa neurologiska sjukdomar som Alzheimers och demens. Forskningsrapporter pekar också på att spel med fördel kan användas för mental träning, vilket är en motivering till relevansen i att detta examensarbete representeras i form av ett spel.Hårdvaran som använts har färdiga algoritmer för avläsning av användarens koncentrations-, meditations- och blinkstyrkenivåer.

The purpose of this paper is to juxtapose the theories of learning that are reflected in student?s perspectives of the learning log with that of the pedagogical intentions of the curriculum in order to examine the discrepancy between the experienced and the intentional learning objectives. The paper is divided into two sections. The first section is a literature survey on theories related to the learning log and the curriculum. The second part is constituted by three semi-structured group interviews concerning student´s views on the learning log.

Health and fitness are two controversial and not easily defined topics that affect people in our modern society every day. We believe that we can find a link between individualism, globalization and the stress concerning weight and appearance ideals. Our bodies have turned into a popular subject for the media, and there is no indication that the interest will decline. As the world gets more artificial, "natural" ideals are getting more attention, such as the concept of a strong and healthy body. But there is also a downside, for example with health issues such as cardiovascular disease increasing following the birth of high-fat diets.

Poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are a group of environmental contaminants that have gained increasing attention due to their Potential to bioaccumulate, environmental persistence and Potential toxicity. PFASs have been found in surface water, sediment, air, soil, sludge and ice caps globally, as well as in wildlife and humans. Furthermore, PFASs have also been detected in drinking water, leading to raised concerns for human health, since drinking water is one of the most significant sources of PFASs for the general population. Conventional water treatment techniques have shown to be ineffective removing PFASs, highlighting the importance for further research to develop efficient removal techniques. The aim of this study was to investigate the removal efficiency of PFASs in water using two treatment techniques; granular activated carbon (GAC), type Filtrasorb 400®, and anion exchange (AE), type Purolite A-600. Additionally, the effect of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) on removal efficiency was studied.

A great number of tourists visits each day the Fox Glacier in New Zealand and are subjected todangers such as jökulhlaups. This phenomena can occur suddenly and in a destructive way when abuilt up of water suddenly bursts and releases large amounts of water. This is well known to happen atthe near by Franz Josef Glacier which has similar settings to Fox Glacier, but sparse previous researchon the subject indicates different results of whether jökulhlaups are present or not by Fox Glacier. Thisthesis therefore aims to study the conditions for jökulhlaups at the glacier. This is done by remotesensing and field observations of the sandur in the Fox Glacier Valley, qualitative interviews andliterature studies with a comparison with Franz Josef Glacier.

This report is about the development of a prototype of a mobile application and a web application that will help diabetes patients in their own treatment and ease diabetes nurses work with their diabetes patients. The mobile application is a digital version of a diabetes diary used by the Örebro County Council primary care to ease in diabetes treatments. The report also covers tests with users which were conducted on Potential users to get some sort of feedback from groups other than customer and colleagues. Tests with users showed that there was an interest in a mobile application and it was a highly appreciated project. The web application ease diabetes nurses in their work with their diabetes patients in the way that the web application can display graphs of the patient's blood glucose level. .

Syftet med studien är att undersöka vilka effekter kontakten med sällskapsdjur har för äldre personers hälsa och välbefinnande. Metoden var en litteraturstudie där tio artiklar granskades. Studien visar att djurs närvaro har ett flertal positiva effekter framförallt i vården av äldre med Alzheimers sjukdom. Dessa uppvisade en högre grad av socialisering och en lägre grad av beteendestörningar i närvaron av djur. Även friska äldre påverkades positivt av relationen med djur då det gällde sociala kontakter och graden av fysisk aktivitet.

The purpose of this study is to examine the view of knowledge and the view of learner which are prominent in the ministry memorandum Specific programs and access to vocational programs (U2009/5552/G) and thereby understand the Potential impact of the new transformation of the current individual program and what it brings to the students who do not achieve the objectives in grade 9. We have used a qualitative text analysis method. The background to the study describes in particular today's individual program, view of knowledge and view of learner. The result shows that the most prominent in the memorandum is that knowledge is divided into theory and practice, that individualization is the focus and the text shows freedom for interpretation..

Människors ohälsa i arbetslivet har fått stort intresse i Sverige på senare år i och med alarmerande siffror om hög frånvaro och psykisk ohälsa. Frågor rörande medarbetares hälsa har kommit att bli av intresse för företag då det råder en stark koppling mellan medarbetares hälsa och företags lönsamhet. Föreliggande studie syftar till att identifiera och beskriva processer och faktorer som är av betydelse vid hälsoarbete på arbetsplatser. Studien baseras på sex intervjuer gjorda med verksamma hälsopedagoger och insamlad data är analyserat utifrån induktiv tematisk analys. Resultaten tyder på att det råder många missuppfattningar och osäkerheter kring synen på, motiven bakom samt det sätt vilket man arbetar med hälsoarbete på.

This is a study of the phenomenon enterprise education in a Swedish school. Enterprise education is a rather new concept in Swedish schools, and it has yet to be clearly defined and sufficiently studied. In order to investigate the various aspects of the education properly an analysis of the language used by its proponents needs to be performed. The authors have used discourse analysis from a perspective provided by Laclau and Mouffe. This is for the purpose of determining how the phenomenon is expressed by four teachers in the school mentioned previously.

Effekter av Samhällets Säkerhetsarbete (ESS) är ett projekt som är finansierat av Myndigheten för samhällsskydd och beredskap (MSB). Detta examensarbete är en delstudie inom ESS och skall analysera olyckor samt dess förebyggande och skadebegränsande åtgärder på svenska oljedepåer i samarbete med IVL Svenska Miljöinstitutet (IVL). Syftet är att utreda vilka olyckor som är mest frekventa samt vilka åtgärder som bedöms inneha stor Potential att förebygga och/eller skadebegränsa dessa olyckor. Målet är att beskriva de tio åtgärder som branschen anser inneha stor Potential. Denna rapport har avgränsats att enbart behandla oljedepåer i Sverige som mellanlagrar flytande energibärare, raffinaderiverksamhet och kraftverk undantas.

This thesis aims to show the positive effects of marketing by studying whether the regulation on direct marketing to consumers of prescription drugs today prevents to consumers accurate information and better health, and how consumers relate to the possible legalization of increased marketing through controlled and information audited webpages. Methods used in this research are qualitative method, quantitative method, documents and websites studies. The thesis fulfills the purpose as it shows the Potential positive effects of an expanded marketing through pre-approved websites. It also shows a demand from the consumers' side and a need for increased awareness for more empowerment over their own health.
