Att studera på vuxenutbildningen kan innebära att du som studerande inte har möjlighet närvara fysiskt för vägledning på skolan. Orsaken kan exempelvis vara att du som studerande inte bor nära skolan, du arbetar eller har någon diagnos (exempelvis social fobi).  Syftet i studien är att undersöka vilken typ av kommunikativa medel som erbjuds sådana studerande. Examensarbetet är en kvantitativ studie, där 26 enkäter skickades via e-post till studie- och yrkesvägledarna hos utbildningsanordnare inom vuxenutbildningen. Resultatet visar att 18 utbildningsanordnare av 22 erbjuder vägledning för dessa studerande, samt att det finns variation i de kommunikativa medel som används för vägledning.

Det här arbetets syfte är att utvärdera olika implementationer av grundläggande mekanismer inom området hierarkiska tillståndsmaskiner. De grundläggande mekanismerna, det vill säga representationerna för tillstånd och händelser, implementeras på fyra olika sätt, och de hierarkiska tillståndsmaskinerna utformas utifrån de möjligheter som de grundläggande mekanismernas implementation ger.I arbetet implementeras de hierarkiska tillståndsmaskinerna i programmeringsspråket C++. Dessa hierarkiska tillståndsmaskiners tidseffektivitet i transitioner per sekund mäts genom ett experiment. Utvärderingen av experimentet visar att den hierarkiska tillståndsmaskinen som använder arv i C++ för att koppla samman tillstånden och som utnyttjar objekttillstånd och medlemsfunktionshändelser kan utföra runt 780 000 transitioner per sekund. Den är därför den tidseffektivaste av de fyra hierarkiska tillståndsmaskinerna.

The interest in providing a post 9/11 image of Islam to contrast the media?s frequent focus on its practitioners? alleged tendencies toward hostility and violence has in Sweden manifested itself (among other things) in an increased range of courses on Islam given by denominational Muslim organizations. Municipal schools of music are a Swedish phenomenon that was formed all over Sweden after the Second World War.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the democratization process in Kurdistan on the basis of consolidation democracy with focus on arenas defined by Linz and Stepan (1997), namely economic, political, legal, civil society and arenas of state bureaucracy. Furthermore, I intend to explain Kurdistan?s road toward democratization in Kurdistan from 1991 until today, with a focus on the years 2003-2012. The main results are that Kurdistan has developed conditions that support a future consolidation of democracy. However, there are weaknesses in the economic situation, rule of law and the arena of bureaucracy.

In the farrowing pens the amount of bedding material and the quality of the concrete floor has a huge impact on both the sow and the piglets. In this study imbedding of rubber flooring on the solid area in the farrowing pen was used to see if it had any effects on the sows lying behaviour when compared to concrete. Another important aspect was to evaluate if the rubber floorings had a high enough durability to resist the normal wear in a farrowing pen. Concrete flooring is assumed to have a higher thermally conductive effect then rubber which can affect the sow?s chance to cool down.

A trading halt is a measure conducted by a securities exchange in order to reduce information imbalances between market participants, thus enabling a higher level of market efficiency. A market is said to be efficient when new information concerning a company is instantly reflected in its stock price, implying that abnormal stock returns cannot be systematically achieved in an efficient market. The purpose of this study is to examine the occurrence of abnormal stock returns following trading halts on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The study is based on a sample of 64 trading halts executed between January 2003 and February 2008. Historical daily prices for stocks subject to trading halts during the period have been gathered from the Datastream Advance database, while information on date and time of trading halts have been collected from the Stockholm Stock Exchange website.

The aim of this paper was to describe hindering and facilitating factors in the transition from upper secondary school and employment for a person with Asperger?s syndrome. In the process we used general systems theory and made semi-structured interviews with five persons in the network of institutions and associations working with the individual. Our findings showed that the hindering and facilitating factors were basically the same depending of the environmental adjustments. The interviews highlighted the following factors: the recent general unemployment rate in Sweden, selfawareness of the individual and the surrounding environment?s knowledge of the individual?s impairment in relation to Asperger?s syndrome.

Däremot kan den andra sidan av myntet innebära att vi tar emot mer information än vad vi har förmåga till att hantera och detta kan medföra att vi blir överbelastade. När informationen transformeras till någonting negativt och påfrestande brukar man säga att individen har drabbats av fenomenet Information overload. Ett närbesläktat fenomen till detta är det så kallade Interaction overload där man, till skillnad från Information overload, uppmärksammar interaktionen som individen utsätts för.Arbetsmailen är ett vanligt kommunikationsverktyg inom företag och genom denna finns en risk att drabbas av både Information overload och Interaction overload.

With the introduction of IFRS, the IASB left the previously used method of amortization and instead introduced fair value. Studies show that firms manipulate the value of goodwill based on agency related incentives and opportunities, such as bonus payment, management tenure and acquisition of firms. The responsibility of checking the quality of financial reports, and give other market participants reasons to trust them, is primarily on accountants. The transition to fair value thus creates a problem for accountants to actually check the fair values produces by firms. Our purpose is to investigate whether the working method of accountants is purposeful in order to maintain the credibility of goodwill values.

In an international perspective the Russian children s library is a unique institution, being solely committed to children up to 14 years of age. In Russia of today it is, however, being exposed to hard pressure as the economical and social conditions have changed dramatically since the collapse of the USSR. My interest lies in examining this change of living conditions for the children s libraries and how this in turn affect their work and role in the present state. In order to view this change in a longer perspective, I compare the situation for children s libraries during the time of communist regime with that of today using documents about and from children s libraries. I have studied its legal position and conditions, financial and political state, and how the modern society affects children and youth, especially their daily cultural life.

The focus of the study is the images and their relation to one another and the landscape surrounding them. Animal welfare issues are not considered as high priority in Malawi, a developing country in south east Africa, due to problems affecting the human population. In Lilongwe, the capital city, education programs are used to increase the awareness of animal welfare issues among primary school children. A study was undertaken to evaluate the knowledge, attitude and practice of animal welfare in primary school children as well as two different teaching methods for animal welfare, namely humane lessons (HL) and Animal Kindness Clubs (AKC). The gender perspective, in terms of differences in attitude towards and knowledge in animal welfare, was also evaluated as well as the link between domestic and animal violence. The study was performed in collaboration with Lilongwe Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (LSPCA). A questionnaire of multiple choice character was handed out to 249 children aged between 9 and 15 from six different schools.
