The purpose of this work has been to explore what ecosystem services a small green area in an urban environment can offer and whether specific trees can be used to maximize regulatory ecosystem services in a cultural-historical environment. Additionally, it investigates whether there is any difference in ecosystem services depending on whether these trees, or trees that better fit into the cultural-historical environment, are used. Through simulations and comparisons with existing trees in Pommerska tomten, Mariestad, Sweden, a pocket park within a national interest area, different hypothetical tree planting options are analyzed and evaluated. To measure ecosystem services, the website My-Tree, developed by the US equivalent of the Department of Agriculture, was used. By inputting data about the tree, such as location, species, vitality, stem diameter, and solar exposure, My-Tree calculates some of the ecosystem services the tree provides.

SMTP, the current protocol for sending electronic mail (e-mail) over the Internet, has for many years suffered from several problems and limitations. When it was designed, well over twenty years ago, the requirements for e-mail were very different from those of today. A message was a text message in English, and both user and machine were explicitly named in the address. The protocol was not designed to transfer other types of messages, and no mechanism was included to verify the identity of the sender.In order to solve these shortcomings, a new e-mail protocol needs to be defined. This report specifies a basis for what such a protocol may look like.

Denna uppsats har försökt att hitta orsaker till varför de kvinnliga revisorerna är lågt representerade i börsnoterade bolag. I uppsatsens inledande skede använde vi oss utav en enkätundersökning för att skapa oss en bild av intresset för auktorisation bland kvinnliga ekonomstudenter. För vår primära datainsamling använde vi oss både av personliga, semistrukturerade intervjuer och intervjuer per e-post. Vi har intervjuat kvinnliga auktoriserade revisorer som verkar på de fyra största revisionsbyråerna i Stockholm och gjort intervjuer per e-post med revisorer som tidigare varit verksamma på någon av dessa byråer. Vi har även intervjuat personer som inte är verksamma inom revisionsbranschen, men har intressanta synpunkter om området.

The purpose of this study is to examine how an organization communicates during a crisis and how a crisis can affect an organization's reputation/credibility in late modernity. The focus is on how the Swedish Red Cross handled crises from summer 2009 until spring 2010, and how the organization's reputation/credibility was affected by the fact that society has changed. The methodology used is a quantitative and qualitative text analysis. The results show that crises affect organizations, how much depends on how open they appear to be and how much credibility they have with them when the crisis begins. Getting to know the late modern society, to understand how it works, can bring benefits to an organization during a crisis.

Abstrakt Uppsatsen behandlar ämnet motivation och mer specifikt faktorer som påverkar chefers motivation till förändringsarbete. Undersökningen har en kvalitativ ansats och datainsamlingen har skett med hjälp av gruppintervju och via e-post. Urvalet för undersökningen var sex chefer anställda på Karlskrona kommun. Resultatet visar att förväntan påverkar chefers motivation. Vi fann också att chefers förtroende till ledning och chefers förståelse av förändringsarbetet påverkar motivationen.

Utvecklingen mot virtuell och mobil samverkan i organisationer har skapat utspridda team som samarbetar med hjälp av tekniska lösningar (t.ex. e-post och telefonkonferens). Arbetets positiva faktorer för individen och för organisationen utmanas i virtuella sammanhang. Genom en enkätundersökning (N=38) undersöktes hur arbetstillfredställelse, tillfredställelse med teamet, teamets utspriddhet samt ömsesidigt uppgiftsberoende var relaterade till organisations- och teamengagemang. Engagemang mättes med frågor ur OCQ (Mowday et al., 1979).

The following chapters examine landscape architecture which engages in contested territories with an emphasis on the way in which landscape architecture can engage with the issues of divided cities or landscapes with similar social, cultural and physical properties. The project focuses specifically on the potential landscape architecture has for promoting or aiding in the reconciliation process of these areas, by examining the following questions. How can landscape architecture be used to benefit the peace building process of divided cities and landscapes? How can landscape architecture be used in the process of promoting spatial reconciliation in the case of Belfast? The investigation begins with a description of the background to the project in Chapter 1, which functions as a brief introduction to the urban phenomena that is divided cities. It then goes on to introduce the different methods and data employed in order to answer the research questions in Chapter 2. After introducing the problem and the methodology, a global overview of divided cities is performed in Chapter 3. This chapter is divided into two sections.

In our case study we investigate how media chose to illuminate the process of court proceedings concerning a one specific rape case in Sweden during the spring and autumn 2007. For our study we have chosen to investigate two Swedish daily newspapers, one known to be a serious morning newspaper, Dagens Nyheter, and the other an evening tabloid newspaper Expressen. We would like to see whether the reports of the trial diverge and if that is, how they differ.The rape took place in Stockholm?s posh area named Stureplan in March 2007. The two men 21 and 25 years old, accused for the crime were acquitted after the first instance.

This study demonstrates that there is variety of treatment interventions for children exposed to intimate violence. These interventions are differentiated in design but a common ground for them all is that they strive to provide a chance for children exposed to intimate violence, to be able to speak about and process their feelings and violent experiences. The study?s aim is to, with a qualitative approach, seek understanding for the different actors who practice social work, see upon their task in the treatment interventions that are provided for children exposed to intimate partner violence. The study is based on mapping the existing treatment interventions for previously mentioned target group, in Malmö.

This study is about the use of textbooks in teaching English as a second language and about teachers? attitudes and opinions of using textbooks during lessons. The aim of the study is to receive a deeper understanding of the use of textbooks in English teaching and to learn about why teachers choose whether to use the textbook approach or not. The study contains an analysis of the textbooks the teachers in our study used. The analysis shows the actual content and the types of texts together with the design and the structure of the textbooks.

Immune stimulating complex (iscom) matrix is a formulation that is used as anadjuvant within research. The capability of the iscom matrix to elicit an immuneresponse when not present together with an antigen has not been extensivelyinvestigated. One way to evaluate the status of the immune system is to measure theamount of cytokines that usually are produced by various cell types during an immuneresponse. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the early immune responses inporcine peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) after stimulation in vitro with theiscom matrix, AbISCO®-100. The immune response was evaluated by measuring themRNA expression for various cytokines, a chemokine receptor (CXCR4) andregulator of G-protein signaling (RGS16) in porcine PBMC after stimulation withAbISCO®-100 or other inducers like a lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and a CpGoligodeoxynucleotide (ODN 2216) used as controls.

Studien undersöker kombinerad odling av tilapia och basilika i ett akvaponiskt system som ett lönsamt sätt att återvinna industriell spillvärme. Syftet har varit att finna en storlek som gör en sådan anläggning lönsam och därmed kunna bedöma i varje specifikt fall om kvantiteten av spillvärme från en fabrik är sådan att överskottsenergin kan användas i en lönsam anläggning av ovanstående typ. En anläggning på 7 500 kvadratmeter har visats lönsam, eventuellt kan också ett företag nå lönsamhet genom drift av många mindre, optimerade odlingar. Empirin har bestått av intervjuer via e-post och telefon, besök på en akvaponisk experimentanläggning samt insamling av data i olika typer av register. Postcykeln har inte ändrats mycket under sin livstid. Material, geometri och designen är nästan densamma som för hundra år sedan. Vad är det som gör att dessa cyklar förblir sig lika? Skillnaden nu är att man använder sig av olika transportmedel för olika typer av utdelning och olika områden.Nu har man bilar, mopeder, el-bilar etc. men man använder fortfarande cykeln till mycket utdelning.Vilka fördelar har cykeln som de andra inte har? Frågar du mig så skulle jag svara att den ärmiljövänlig, billig, bra för fysiken, effektiv vid rätt användningsområde och framför allt rolig att använda.Att vara brevbärare idag innebär ett tungt och slitsamt arbete.

Background: Research results show that the potential of corporate social responsibility (CSR) has increased. That means there is a growing pressure on Swedish companies to act with responsibility: general public has a positive attitude towards companies that communicate their CSR. Advertising agencies have been criticized by their way to manage the question of social responsibility. One of the characteristics of an advertising agency is their anonymity; even though their products are extremely visible, it is rarely clear who gave rise to an advertising production. If this is put in relation to CSR in general, we find ourselves in a contradictory situation when CSR in many cases is about exposure of the responsible corporation.
