The purpose was to study what significance communication has for the psychosocial health of elderly deaf people who live in old peoples homes. I also explored how communication works between the staff.- How do the staff feel the communication works between members of the staff and between the staff and the residents?- How do the staffs think that the staffs' knowledge of the culture of the deaf community and sign language affects the psychological health of the residents?- What changes have the staff noticed in the residents since they moved to the ward?In order to accomplish study this area I have used semi-structured qualitative interviews and observations.The main conclusion of this paper was that the possibility to communicate in ones own language was fundamental for the psychosocial health of the residents. The people I interviewed expressed that communication between the residents and the staff worked well, but communication was a problem between the staff members. Knowledge of the culture of the deaf and sign language, within the staff, had a positive influence on the psychosocial health of the residents.

As a result of the so called ?Million Program? between the years 1965 ? 1975 the design-build contract had its breakthrough in Sweden. Since then, the contract form has become increasingly common and now holds a strong position on the Swedish market. In design-build contracts it?s usual that the design and production time is overlapping.

Studien syftar till att undersöka hur fyra svensklärare arbetar med skriftlig respons, vilka effekter den har på elevers skrivutveckling samt hur eleverna beskriver sina upplevelser av att motta respons. En kvalitativ metod har använts genom att fyra svensklärare på högstadiet har intervjuats. Därefter gjordes gruppintervjuer med fyra av respektive lärarrespondents elever. Intervjuerna analyserades och data kategoriserades i syfte att få svar på studiens frågeställningar, vilka är:? Vad beskriver lärarna att de fokuserar på i den skriftliga respons de ger till eleverna, på vilket sätt ger de respons och varför?? Vilka effekter beskriver lärarna att deras skriftliga respons har på elevernas skrivutveckling?? Hur beskriver eleverna sina upplevelser kring den respons de ges på sina skriftliga framställningar?Resultatet visar att lärarna arbetar med tre typer av respons: slutkommentarer, matriser och markeringar i elevtexten.

The level of increased central government that we have experienced during the last decades in school, for the purpose of increasing equality and to adapt the Swedish school to a certain international standard, clearly shows that increased control scarcely leads to improvement.The aim of this paper is to examine whether teachers believe that national tests contribute to equivalent assessment and increased goal attainment. Furthermore the teachers? attitude towards and work with national tests is described. The paper is written from a school improvement perspective, where good examples from current research on what creates increased quality in school meaning increased goal attainment and equivalent assessment are related to research on school effectiveness and increased testing in schools. The study builds upon a quantitative survey among teachers in upper primary - and secondary school in a medium-sized municipality in Sweden.The result shows that the teachers have a somewhat more positive than negative attitude towards national tests, as a whole.

Background: Patients postoperative pain is often underestimated. Untreated or undertreated pain decreases the chance of optimal recovery after surgery. Pain assessment is an important factor of efficient pain relief. Aim: The aim of the literature study was to describe factors of importance for nurses´ assessment of postoperative pain in patients. Method: A literature study was done where qualitative and one quantitative article was reviewed.

In an effort to evaluate the effects of restorations of float ways on population density of stream dwelling fish in relation to the changes in habitat, I studied the physical habitat restored and channalized sites and their population density of brown trout (Salmo trutta L.) in three streams in the municipality of Sorsele. The differences between the channalized and the restored sites where most noticeable regarding substrate which where generally coarser in the restored sites. The analyses showed that the proportion of habitat that where suitable to the age class 0+ where significantly lower in the restored sites compared to the channalized sites. Regarding age class ?2+, no statistical differences in habitat quality were found.

Effektiv styrning av ett logistiskt system kräver vanligtvis en uppföljningsprocess som ger feedback. Historiskt har dock utvecklingen inom virkeslogistik fokuserat på modeller och beslutsstöd enbart för destinering och ruttplanering. Målet med denna studie var därför att utveckla en modell för Norra Skogsägarna som på åkerinivå möjliggör effektiv uppföljning av utfört transportarbete under en avgränsad tidsperiod (dygns- till veckonivå). Den utvecklade modellen ? TRUPP (TRansportUPPföljning) ? baserades på en sorteringsmetodik i Excel. Det första steget består av en sortering av utförda frakter, per åkeri och tidsperiod, i olika kategorier med potentiellt inoptimala frakter.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att att undersöka hur de anställda på ett rehabiliteringsföretag upplever sin arbetssituation: vad som motiverar dem och vad som kan införas i verksamheten för att berika arbetet. Undersökningen utgick från Hackman och Oldhams teori (1980) om arbetsberikning, närmare bestämt arbetskaraktäristika modellen. Undersökningsproceduren bestod av tre steg: en arbetsanalys, fem intervjuer samt en enkät baserad på resultaten av de två första stegen. Resultaten visar att den arbetsutformning som finns på rehabiliteringsföretaget främjar arbetsmotivation, men även att det finns faktorer som kan förbättras. Dessa är att tydliggöra arbetsprocessen och att hitta bättre verktyg för att ge de anställda feedback..

Med stöd från intervjufrågor, observationer och fältanteckningar från mitterminsomdömen synliggörs hur elever och lärare uppfattar betygets funktion i tre estetiska ämnen.

This bachelor thesis in tourism studies focuses on people's use of social media related to travel. The paper aims to provide a wider knowledge of tourist?s propensity to display destinations through social media and how they perceive others that display travelling. This is put in relation to the term of social status in order to find out if there is a possible link. The intention was to provide an insight into the phenomenon to contribute new awareness that destinations can exploit in their marketing.

Syftet med det här examensarbetet är att undersöka ett arbetssätt med formativ bedömning i matematik på gymnasienivå. Målet med den formativa bedömningen är att ge eleverna stöd i deras fortsatta lärande, att göra dem uppmärksamma på hur de ligger till kunskapsmässigt och hur de kan förbättra sig. Arbetet bygger på intervjuer med fem elever, som fått göra uppgifter som jag har gett dem kommentarer på, samt för ämnet relevant litteratur. Background and problem discussion: Sustainability reporting has recently risen in importance and a rising number of companies choose to issue voluntary stand-alone sustainability reports. Their non-regulated nature increases the opportunity for management to angle the information in these disclosures to their own advantage. Lately the focus has shifted from examining what kind of information is provided in environmental disclosures, to analyzing how the information is presented.Purpose: The purpose is to examine if managers in the energy sector use optimistic tone when issuing sustainability reports. The aim is to find out if the tone applied in environmental disclosures is in congruence with either the environmental or economic performance or if an excessively positive tone is being used to mislead readers.Limitations: This study is limited to information found in environmental disclosures from private companies in the energy sector, issued in 2012 or 2013. Environmental performance is defined as the amount of CO2e emissions and economic performance refers to annual company revenues.Methodology: The quantification of optimistic tone is conducted using a content analysis, relying on a pre-specified wordlist and a pilot study.

Background: In 1994 came the general prescription law in force for the district nurses with specific training in pharmacology and pathology in Sweden. According to The National Board of Health and Welfare from 2004 follow-up of the use of the prescription law revealed that nearly half of the district nurses used their prescription once a week. According to previous research the district nurses and patients were positive to the district nurses administration of prescriptions. Doctors, contrariwise, were not as favorable to the district nurses administration of prescriptions. The responsibility of the heads of the health centers is to promote the district nurses to prescribe and make sure that it works in a satisfactory manner.

This paper examines if trading suspensions on Nasdaq OMX Nordic - Stockholm work as a contributing factor in creating a secure trading. This has been made through an event study and examination of abnormal returns. Our results for plus tick suspensions indicate that suspensions fulfill their purpose in creating a more secure trading since the trend of abnormal return we observe prior to a suspension is disrupted. Thus, the suspension is warranted. The conclusion is that the market cannot be completely safe; as the law and practice is structured today an abnormal return is inevitable.

In nature settings people often experience positive emotions. Litterature and theories about the positive effect of nature on humans are largely based upon visual impressions and aesthetic preference. The purpose of the present study is to examine how visually impaired individuals that lack visual impressions experience nature. The background is about what it means to be visually impaired and what it is like to be visually impaired in a nature setting, followed by a presentation of the five human senses and about stimulation of senses in healing gardens. That is followed by theories about the health promoting effect of nature, about why nature and therapeutic gardens make people feel good. After that theories about experiences and relations with settings are presented.
