The purpose of this thesis was to illuminate and create a deeper understanding of how small niche retail businesses within the apparel industry Position themselves. We aimed to investi-gate how these small niche retail businesses create their Position and how they communicate these Positions to their target market. To be able to investigate the Positioning-process within these small niche retail businesses a case study was conducted based on interviews with two respondents from two different companies and observations of these businesses physical envi-ronments. The study indicated that the small niche retail businesses mainly make use of emo-tional aspects and their assortment range to create their Position. The intention of this essay is to inquire into the (re-)constitution of gendered/sexed identities in a gothicistic discourse. The used material is the work Atlantica, chapter 5, vol. 2, written by the Swedish historian/Medical professor Olof Rudbeck. I have chosen this chapter for its description of mythological characters relationship with the earth, the sun and the moon. A description based on a concept of strength and reproduction as gendered characteristics.

Den här uppsatsen handlar om korttidsminnet (arbetsminnet) och dess kapacitet att lagra och processa information. Ett perceptionsexperiment som utfördes ger en inblick i hur korttidsminnet fungerar i praktiken och innefattar randmönster och ovaler som stimuli. Responstid och precision mäts och jämförs med avseende på betingelser som Position och orientering. För att genomföra studien har ett nationellt representativt datamaterial från Levnadsnivåundersökningen (LNU) år 1968 och 1981 och undersökningen om äldres levnadsvillkor, SWEOLD, år 1992, 2002 och 2004 använts. Datamaterialet har möjliggjort för en kvantitativ longitudinell studie där respondenterna har kunnat följas från vuxen ålder till efter pensionsåldern, en period på över 20 år.

This report describes the design and construction of a prototype that automatically aims a microwave link towards a target. The link, that is located on a mobile aerial mast, is used by Saab Training Systems as a part of an infrastructure network. The report also discusses the development of a GUI that communicates with the control unit by Bluetooth.The control unit, called Pan/Tilt-controller, controls the Position of the link by stepping motors. One motor controls the azimuth angle and the other one controls the elevation angle.By a GUI the operator enters the coordinates on its own Position and the targets Position. Under de senaste decennierna har föräldrar blivit allt mer delaktiga i sina barns skolgång (Erikson 2004), vi har intresserat oss för om detta fenomen gör sig gällande även då åtgärdsprogram upprättas. Syftet med denna studie är därmed att studera föräldrars delaktighet i utformande och genomförande av åtgärdsprogram. Utifrån detta syfte har följande forskningsfrågor formulerats: a) I vilken utsträckning är föräldrar närvarande då åtgärdsprogram utformas? b) Vilken Position tilldelas föräldrar i åtgärdsprogram? c) Vad säger denna Position om föräldrars delaktighet i utformande och genomförande av åtgärdsprogram? Studien har utförts som en fallstudie vid en grundskola. Huvudmetoden har varit dokumentanalys och analysmaterialet bestod av åtgärdsprogram för elever i år 8 och 9, vilka avslutats mellan år 2000 och 2006.

The purpose of this study is to explore the concept of the immigrant-writer. By studying the literary criticism on four debutants, all of whom have been categorised as immigrant-writers, I have come to the conclusion that the critics tend to focus on the authors' otherness. By using postcolonial theory I've analysed the role as representatives of a supposed other reality that is imposed on these four authors by the literary critics. The theories of Pierre Bourdieu, especially his concepts of symbolic capital, literary field and Position, have been used to contextualise these conclusions. Although the otherness that the critics accentuate seems to work as a negative symbolic capital in a bigger societal perspective, in the author's Position within the literary field it grows their positive symbolic capital.

AbstractThis thesis discusses and analyses a 19th century female author's vanishing from history. The study investigates social relationships as figured and described in the epistolary form, based on letters between the author herself and different members of her family. It also tries to identify the author's Position and situation in her time and society according to important themes and motifs in her novels. The main purpose is not to reconstruct history, but rather to show the many complex histories that can also be described, apart from the simplified and generalized one. This master thesis studies distributed navigation which isa function implemented in a future network based combat information system to improve the accuracy in navigation for combat vehicles in a mechanized battalion, above all in the event of loss of GPS. In the event of loss of the GPS the vehicles obtain dead reckoning performance through the backup system that consists of an odometer and a magnetic compass. Dead reckoning means a drift in the Position that makes the accuracy in the navigation worse. The distributed navigation function uses Position and navigation data with measurements between the vehicles to estimate the errors and uncertainties in Positions, which are used to improve the accuracy in Position for the vehicles. To investigate and demonstrate distributed navigation, a simulation environment has been produced in Matlab.
