Im Blickfeld meiner Masterarbeit steht die Frage, welche Rolle historische Erfahrungen und Erinnerungen in Migrationsprozessen einnehmen. Es geht dabei um deutsche Frauen, die in der Nachkriegszeit (1945-1960) nach Schweden auswanderten, um eine Stelle als Haushaltshilfe anzutreten und die in der deutsch-protestantischen St. Gertruds Gemeinde in Stockholm eine deutsche Gemeinschaft fanden.    In meiner Untersuchung stellt sich heraus, dass die St. Gertruds Gemeinde nach 1945 eine BlĂŒtezeit erlebte. Als folge des Zweiten Weltkrieges hatte die Gemeinde sowohl in Schweden als auch in Deutschland wichtige Aufgaben zu erfĂŒllen.

The study - Hur skapas en journalist? - examines why so many people choose to turn tothe journalist profession when the conditions for a secure position on the labor market ispoor. The study also highlights how recently graduated journalist perceives their temporary and insecure position on the labor market.The study was performed trough ten biographical interviews with recently graduated journalists. Via the interviews I examined what has formed the individuals to perceive journalism as a rational or pragmatic choice for a career. The study shows that journalists, who come from families with high cultural capital, have been shaped by a particular culture of education, which focuses on education as a step towards selfrealization.

The present paper is part of a project carried on by the Swedish Section of the International Commission of Jurists. Sweden has ratified several major international human rights instruments. Most of the rights are covered by national law, and only in exception is there a discrepancy between national and international law. Such a discrepancy is found in the UN Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Racial Discrimination, in which the State parties agree on penalizing and prohibiting the founding of and participation in racist organizations. The purpose of this study is to examine what factors that motivate people to work in professions with an explicit and inherent risk of threats and violence. By using a qualitative study and conducting in-depth interviews with eight security guards and doormen with experience from working at restaurants and nightclubs, the study could conclude that the interviewed security guards and doormen were motivated mainly by economic incentives and the social interaction that the profession entails. Status and riskiness of the profession did also, to a certain extent, contribute to the motivation. The professions' lack of advancement opportunities were frequently mentioned as the main reason to why one chose to leave the position, or consider the time in the profession as limited..
