Denna rapport är en litteraturstudie i geometri, topologi och fysik, skri- ven med avsikten att förbereda för studier i allmän relativitetsteori. Den har karaktären av en lärobok och dess målgrupp är personer med kunskaper likvärdiga med en kandidatexamen i teknisk fysik, teknisk matematik eller liknande. Rapportens fokus ligger på matematiska metoder för allmän relativitetsteori och förkunskaper nödvändiga för att förstå detta. Texten avslutas med några inledande exempel på allmän relativitet som demonstrerar några av begreppen som avhandlas i rapporten. Rapporten behandlar sitt ämne på en inledande nivå och dess främsta syfte är att ge en överblick och en motivation för fortsatta studier..

Companies become more and more aware of the added values of the packaging. A well chosen and developed packaging can reduce the costs for the companies through reduced costs for transports, reduced quantity of waste and discards and increased goodwill for example. The companies? costs for salaries can also be reduced due to the increased packaging handling efficiency and the reduced costs for sick leave, reduced work capacity and rehabilitation etc. that can arise when handling poorly developed products and packaging.

The global wood pellet market has seen a rapid growth after the adoption of the Kyoto protocol and the renewable energy incentives created within the European Union. The global consumption of wood pellets reached 13,5 million tonnes in 2010 and several experts estimate the consumption to be between 35-50 million tonnes by 2020. These forescasts raise the questions which regions that can supply this vast amount of wood pellets and what the conditions are for producing it. This study evaluates the conditions for wood pellet production and export from British Columbia, on Canada?s west coast, focusing on existing industry structure, raw material supply and the distribution chain.

Det krävs att patienten får en information som är individanpassad för att han/hon ska kunna omsätta kunskaperna i praktisk handling. Metoden som användes i studien var kvantitativ med en enkät som datainsamlingsmetod.

Material handling is a term that includes all kinds of handling of material from a raw product to a finished one. ABB is active in the following segments; foundry, packaging and palletizing, metal industry and plastics industry.The demands for efficiency and reliability have been set very high in the industrial sector. Optimizing of the material handling will give the company higher cost-effectiveness. Around the robot there are different kinds of material flows, to optimize the cycle time, consisting of carriages combined in different ways.Motion Control is a complex system with main functions such as; positioning, synchronizing, indexing and more. The products in the system need to cooperate to make these functions possible therefore integration of motor- and servo products are important.

In this master thesis, the possibilities of customizing a low-cost microprocessor with the purpose of replacing an existing microprocessor solution are investigated. A brief survey of suitable processors is carried out wherein a replacement is chosen. The replacement processor is then analyzed and extended with accelerators in order to match set requirements.The result is a port of the processor Lattice Mico32 for the FPGA curcuit Xilinx Virtex-5 which replaces an earlier solution using Xilinx MicroBlaze. To reach the set requirements, accelerators for floating point arithmetics and FIR filtering have been developed. The toolchain for the processor has been modified to support the addition of accelerated floating point arithmetics.A final evaluation of the presented solution shows that it fulfills the set requirements and constitutes a functional replacement for the previous solution..

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka vilken matematik förskolebarn uttrycker i leken samt vilket material som används när matematik uttrycks.         Frågeställningarna är vilken matematik förskolebarn uttrycker i den fria leken inomhus och vilket material förskolebarn använder när de uttrycker matematik. Arbetet är en kvalitativ studie och metoden som använts är observationer av barns lek inomhus på förskolan. Resultatet utgår från fem av Alan Bishops sex matematiska aktiviteter; räkna, lokalisera, mäta, konstruera och leka. Dessa fem aktiviteter är kopplade till förskolans läroplan.

The aim of this study is to investigate how multiple tree handling harvesters perform compared to earlier developed standards. The study shows that multiple tree handling harvesters are more efficient in thinnings stands with mean stock volumes less than 0,12 m3fub per stock. The increased efficiency is different for different mean stem classes. In stands with a mean stem volume of 0,04 m3fub per stock, the increase can be as high as 40 percent while it is about 10 percent in stands with a mean stem volume of 0,12 m3fub. Comparisons have been done between stands that are felled with partly limbed stands and stands without partly limbed assortments. The difference in performance is clear and shows that the partly limbed assortments strengthen the multiple tree handling harvesters positive effects in low dimension thinnings.

The report is a master thesis about energy efficient measures for an underground facility Hemsö fortress.Several proposals are evaluated economically.Statistics of the electricity used and measurements of several heat pumps are analyzed to find energysavings potentials.The results indicate that several units of a dehumidification system are responsible for over 70 % of theyearly electricity cost. The air that is being dehumidified by these units can otherwise cause damage ofculturally important interior designs.The proposal with highest profit suggests an alternative method for dehumidification. The cooler in theair handling units in Hemsö fortress have capacity to dehumidify the air. However complementary fansneed to be installed to circulate humid air towards the air handling units. The solution can be implementedin three different locations within the facility.

Humanistiska begrepp somkärlek har idag inte fått så stort utrymme i utbildning för sjuksköterskoreller ute i vårdverksamheterna. Därför var syftet med den här studien attbelysa vad kärlek kan vara i omvårdnad. Studien utfördes som en systematisklitteraturstudie. I resultatet framkom tre teman: kärlek i relationen mellanpatient och sjuksköterska, kärlek som en osjälvisk handling och kärlekensbetydelse för patienter och anhöriga. Utifrån resultatet utformades en modellsom visar på att kärlek är en osjälvisk handling som innebär att sjuksköterskangår utanför ramarna för omvårdnad, där motivationen till kärleksfull omvårdnadkommer djupt inifrån sjuksköterskan själv och att kärlek skapar glädje hos bådesjuksköterskan och patienten.

People working with handling parcels in terminals are often victims of musculoskeletal injuries. This is largely due to the hazardous lifting of too many parcels which are too heavy and unsuitable work postures. The human body?s ability to lift and grasp objects is so outstanding that developing a device with the same capability is very difficult.The goal of the project has been to develop a technical device that will improve the handling of parcels with regard to ergonomics. The area of concern was the lifting of parcels between the conveyor belt and the cargo space of the freight car.

I denna uppsats försöker jag utreda Bushadministrationens motiv bakom Irakkriget 2003. Detta gör jag med hjälp av motivanalysen där jag testar aktörens motiveringar, så kallade motivindikatorer bakom det militära intrånget i Irak. Motiveringarna kan återfinnas i bl.a. offentliga tal men de måste utsättas för ett antal tester med avsikt att framställa de bakomliggande motiven. Genom att exempelvis mäta korrespondensen mellan utsaga och handling kommer jag ett steg närmare de gripbara motiven.

In this essay I have examined text, speech and action in Chekhov's Three sisters, as well as how the characters express their wills in action and in speech. I have used different methods such as action analysis, the five W questions and BSI (background, situation and intention). These methods are similar to those actors use to uncover situatedness of characters and to find motivated and intentional patterns behind their actions.I have used these techniques to identify the plot, explore what happened before the plot begins and to read the text in terms of action. The aim was also to find the counter points where wills expressed in action are contradicted by wills expressed in speech. Using these methods I found that the characters in Three sisters manage their lives dreaming about the future or recalling the past, except the character Natasha.
