The report aims to investigate how well a certain type of affordable embedded single board computer can hold up against today's more expensive computers in a computer system by doing various tests on a system with the specified requirements. The system has a Raspberry Pi as the single board computer which task is to control a camera based on coordinates obtained from a server as well as capture and stream a video signal on a network.The researches were conducted to check how much network traffic a single-chip computer sent in different video formats and how much CPU utilization was required. Studies were also made to ensure the accuracy of the camera control. The researches have been experimental, where several tests have been performed and analyzed.The results show that a sufficiently good accuracy can be obtained from the camera steering unit, in which two different servos have been investigated. When the video format MJPEG and H.264 are used, the single-chip computer is able to transmit a video signal up to 1280x720 at 15 fps.

Citizens? freedom of choice has been a subject of debate in Sweden for over 30 years. This study focuses on decision making processes among patients within the Swedish healthcare system. The main conclusions are that in contrast to how patients? freedom of choice is described within governmental bills and governmental inquires and reports, patients are not following the steps included in the rational model of decision making.

This report describes a system for verification of fingerprints against a previous created template. It describes how and why a fingerprint image must be processed before it can be used to either identify or verify a person. The method is based on special features of a fingerprint, called minutiae points. The whole process from image to matching is described, every step in the process with image enhancement, binarization, thinning and how to find the minutiae points. Also what false minutiae points are, how they arise, why they deteriorate the result, and how to handle them, is discussed.

Denna uppsats undersöker hur en analys av politiska styrmedel kan blottlägga outtalademålsättningar hos ett politiskt område. Styrmedel är det offentliga systemets instrument för attrealisera olika politiska mål; de presenteras ofta som neutrala verktyg, men i själva verket ärde präglade av värdeladdade antaganden och djupt politiska till sin natur. Häri finns enkontrast som gör att deras utformning kan avslöja outtalade målsättningar inom ett politisktområde. Uppsatsen är en fallstudie som tillämpar styrmedelsteori på det kulturpolitiskalandskapet i New Orleans, USA. Offentliga företrädare i staden har länge använt kultur somett ekonomiskt tillväxtmedel för att öka dess attraktionskraft och uppsatsen erbjuder enempirisk djupdykning i hur New Orleans kulturpolitiska styrmedel förhåller sig till detta.Det material som studerats är dels själva styrmedlen i form av offentlig dokumentation ochdels djupintervjuer med kulturpolitiska företrädare i staden.

Bensbyn och Ersnäs är traditionellt två mycket snarlika mindre jordbruksbygder belägna inom det som idag utgör Luleå Kommun. Bägge byar har en lång historia av bosättning i området med anor i båda fall ända tillbaka till 1300-talet e.kr. I båda fallen har jordbruket varit den dominerande näringen under många sekel. Trots byarnas relativa snarlikhet framträdde politiska skillnader dem emellan under 1940- och 50-talet. I Bensbyn blev SAP, Svenska Socialdemokratiska Arbetarpartiet, den dominerande politiska kraften medan Bondeförbundet i Ersnäs framträdde som det starkaste politiska partiet i bygden.

Sverige är idag ett mångkulturellt samhälle, där frågor kring genus och etnicitet ligger i fokus. Därigenom har problem uppmärksammats, så som diskriminering, utanförskap och segregation. Genom att kvinnors underordning och invandrares utanförskap framhävs, har politiska riktningar börjat diskutera olika lösningar. Positiv särbehandling är en form av åtgärdsprogram som ansvariga inom olika samhällsarenor kan ta hjälp av för att utjämna löner och inflytande mellan kvinnor och män, invandrare och svenskar. I denna rapport har jag gjort en komparativ diskursanalys av vänsterpartiets respektive folkpartiets syn på positiv särbehandling som idé och metod.

This thesis investigates if a system for small scale electricity production located in anurban environment can be profitable. The work has been divided up into two parts,one extensive literature study and one case study. The purpose of the literature studywas to investigate the area, resulting in a choice of which technology to be studied indepth in a case study.In the case study a system containing small scale wind turbines and photovoltaicsmounted on Gränby Centrums roof was examined. From data containing wind power,wind direction and total irradiation, possible production from a system weresimulated. Three products of each technology were examined in the simulations.From the simulated production an economic analysis was carried out, this toinvestigate if a system is profitable.

Palatset skall bli ett kulturhus för barn och är i dag under uppbyggnad. Syftet med uppsatsen är att genom diskursanalys kartlägga Palatsets visioner i ett barnkulturellt samtidsperspektiv. Jag arbetar utifrån frågeställningen: Hur ser Palatset på begreppen barn och kultur, och hur förhåller sig detta synsätt till forskning om barn, barndom och kultur, samt till Palatsets allmänna politiska samtidskontext?Jag gör en diskursanalys av ett urval av skrivet material från Palatset. Analysen synliggör barnet med rättigheter, det kompetenta barnet och det aktiva barnet, som tre huvudsakliga diskurser rörande barn.

Employees of the criminal correctional system have a duty to notify social services if they suspect that children are exposed to maltreatment, according to Chapter 14, § 1 SoL. Despite the obligation to report, studies show that this is not done at all times. The purpose of this paper is to describe and analyze how the criminal correctional system in Kalmar looks at notification if they suspect that children are exposed to maltreatment. To examine this, we used qualitative research method based on semi-structuring interviews; these were carried out with six employees, working in the criminal correctional system. The answers that emerged during the interviews have been analyzed using Yeheskel Hasenfeld theory of human services organizations, and trough previous research.

Ett sätt att få kvalitativa programvaror är att använda bra utvecklingsverktyg. I detta arbete utvärderas fem olika utvecklingsverktyg: GNAT (Ada), Microsoft Visual C++, Microsoft J++, Borland Delphi och Active Perl. Inriktningen på utvärderingen är mot utveckling av programvara för PLC-system.

This project investigated the current market regarding wireless net and the communication between the tools used for diagnostics/maintenance and an embedded system. Based on documentation obtained through interviews a demo system was created based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication between an embedded system and an Android device.This report intends to describe the tools and methods used in the design of the demo system and the result of an analysis of the BLE communication.Bluetooth Low Energy is an exciting protocol with wide applicability within the industrial field. This essay takes the three models from Allison and Zelikow book Essence of decision and applies them on the Swedish defense system. After the cold war the Swedish defense system had to undergo changes to be a more modern defense and be able to defend Sweden against threats. To also be able to cooperate with other countries in peacekeeping operations the Swedish defense had to be reorganized. The solution was to change direction from a defense system that was organized for invasion to instead be a movable defense ready for any challenge in Sweden or abroad. Den här studien omfattar en analys av hur Sverigedemokraterna skildrades i Helsingborgs dagblad under valrörelsen 2006. I sydvästra Skåne, vilket är Helsingborgs dagblads spridningsområde, hade Sverigedemokraterna mycket stor framgång i valet 2006. Detta har väckt intresse för en studie av detta slag, vars syfte är att åstadkomma ett underlag för vidare undersökningar angående mediebevakningens betydelse för valutgången.Jag har skrivit en bakgrund med fakta angående Sverigedemokraternas nuvarande politiska position Därefter har jag skrivit en teorigenomgång som tar upp ämnen som rör den politiska kommunikationen samt ramar in problemställningen. Utifrån syftet har jag ställt upp ett antal frågeställningar och genom en kvantitativ innehållsanalys i kombination med en diskursanalys söker jag svar på dessa frågeställningar. Materialet för analyserna består av artiklar ur Helsingborgs dagblad som skrevs inför valet 2006.Analyserna har lett till slutsatser som jag avslutningsvis har diskuterat.
