Vi lever idag i ett mångkulturellt samhälle där integration har blivit en allt viktigare fråga. Då en stor del av Sveriges befolkning har annan etnisk bakgrund än svensk blir det viktigare att mötas och respektera varandra. Detta är i stort vad integration går ut på och något som det arbetas med dagligen. I denna antologi behandlas integration ur fyra olika perspektiv. Gemensamt för dessa bidrag är att de behandlar integrationsprocesser och identitetsskapande.

Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka hur Sveriges televisions program ?Toppkandidaterna? tas emot av dem som är den tänkta målgruppen: 18-25 år. Målet med programmet är att locka denna målgrupp till Sveriges television, men även att inspirera dessa till politiskt engagemang och debatt. Eftersom Toppkandidaterna därför beskrivs som en ?politisk dokusåpa? vill vi även göra undersökningen i ett vidare perspektiv och ställer oss frågan: Hur resonerar deltagarna i våra fokusgrupper kring begrepp som demokrati och politik? Vi tycker att det finns tydliga kopplingar mellan dessa begrepp, programmet och Sveriges televisions uppdrag från staten som bland annat folkbildare och informatör.

I denna jämförande studie analyseras det partistrategiska handlandet i Sverige och Österrike gällande regeringsbildande med en jämförande ansats. Analysen av strategierna har gjorts med hänsyn till den institutionella och politiskt kulturella kontexten. Studien visar att de institutionella arrangemangen mellan länderna liknat varandra men att den politiska kulturen och partisystemen skiljt sig åt vilket påverkat det partipolitiska agerandet.En skillnad mellan länderna är att det i Österrike traditionellt bedrivits en koncensusinriktad och kompromissvillig politik medan det i Sverige präglats av konflikt mellan det socialistiska och borgerliga blocket. Vid det österrikiska valet 1999 infördes konflikt som en följd av det frihetliga antietablissemangspartiet FPÖ:s framgångar och det partistrategiska agerandet kom att ändras. Självbindningar och kompromisslöshet hade ersatt koncensus och samförstånd, och den traditionella ?stora koalitionen? mellan det socialdemokratiska och konservativa partiet ersattes med en regering bestående av det populistiska frihetliga partiet.

The purpose of this study was to gain understanding of orthodox Christianity in Swedish educational material. The aim was to compare the presentation of orthodox Christianity towards pupils before the new curriculum and after. With the help of an analytical approach by Bergström and Boreu ?s and the interpretation strategy by Quentin Skinner, I have studied material used in school for the subject religion. I have limited my educational material in one way.

What kind of international actor is the European Union and how shall we define it? These are questions that many have tried to answer often by addressing the apparent uniqueness of the EU itself. One of these theories is Normative power Europe. A theory whose main argument is that the EU is best perceived as a changer of norms. My aim with this thesis is to test this claim and to see if the Union should be regarded as a normative power.

In this paper we examine how young women present themselves on their weblogs. The main purpose of this study is to get their own opinions and thoughts about their own blogging, to see if we can find norms for how they present themselves and how the presentation online matches themselves offline. We put this in relation to information technologies, social software and Computer mediated communication, CMC. It´s also in our interest to see how the phenomenon of blogs, its role and methods of communication have changed and developed in the last few years, and whether there are differences in the way people use it according to age. The major finding is that, unlike previous research, the women in our study tend to be themselves in their weblogs and they do not manipulate their identities.

In this essay I have studied how the film industry in the USA has worked with history in movies ever since the birth of film. I have also studied if Swedish teenagers are influenced by the contemporary reflections often showed in these movies. Furthermore I discussed how to work with contemporary reflections on film in a classroom.In these studies I used a group of teenager in the eight-grade. I stated of by asking the teenagers a verity of questions about movies and their interests in movies. Afterwards I showed them four different scenes from two different movies which all included reflections to today?s society.

Välfärden gynnas genom att föreningslivet, den så kallade tredje sektorn, tillhandahåller tjänster och information vilket ger kollektiva lösningar och nya möjligheter.

This thesis discusses the representation of bodies in todays non-fiction television in Sweden. I have chosen to focus on deviant bodies (sexual, deformed or unhealthy) on display in reality-shows and documentaries on SVT, TV4 but especially on the commercial channels TV3 and Kanal5. Also discussed are the viewers emotional and bodily reactions. Altough these shows are different from one another in many respects, I argue that there is also a common thread between them. From a sociological and cultural perspective, and with help of some historical examples, I try to illustrate how we view these shows and what their function is.

In this essay I examine how a municipal- and an independent upper secondary school compare to the ideal types the Company and the Political organization and how that affects the school practise as it?s described in policy documents. The conclusions are that the municipal school on a number of variables correlate to the ideal type the Political organization. At the same time the school reforms of the 1990s are considered as an intention to ?companylize? the municipal school and a number of tendencies how that have affected the municipal school are shown.

The purpose with this master´s thesis is to examine how helth and unhelthy in the Swedish magazines Topphälsa, Fitnez Magazine, hälsa and I Form. The study is made from a discourse analytical approach and text and pictures are analysed together. The governmentality-perspective is also used as a theoretical frame. Power and govern are two inportant conceptions for this paper. Some of the main characteristics of the material are the double messages, the division in the categories "we" and "them" and the personal address to the reader.
