Vår uppsats behandlar det statsvetenskapliga forskningsfältet politisk kommunikation. Vår ambition ligger i att undersöka hur kvällspressen valde att rapportera kring terrorattacken den 11 september 2001 i USA. Den hypotes som vi har är att medieklimatet har blivit allt tuffare och mer underordnad ekonomiska intressen som i sin tur leder till förenklade, tillspetsade och sensationella nyheter. Det vi ämnar söka svaret på är: Hur och varför medierna agerade som de gjorde kring bevakningen av terrorattackerna den 11 september 2001 i USA? Och var i ligger problematiken i deras sätt att rapportera?Vi kommer att angripa våra frågeställningar utifrån teoretiskt viktiga verktyg och genom en fallstudie kring Sveriges två största kvällstidningar Aftonbladet och Expressen.

Med Köpenhamnsskolans säkerhetiseringprocess som analysverktyg kan man tolka institutionaliserandet av apartheidpolicyn som en följd av att rasfrågan i Sydafrika under tiden efter andra världskriget säkerhetiserades. Den vita identiteten formades, med ett postmodernistiskt perspektiv, i och med denna process. Den samtida politiska diskursens konstruerade föreställningar om ?vi? och ?dem? blev en förutsättning för samhällets uppfattning om apartheidsystemets legitimitet. I och med apartheidregimens fall reverserades emellertid rasfrågan i säkerhetiseringsprocessen och introduceras åter som politisk fråga.

Abstrakt: Kommunikation mellan medborgare och folkvalda har en central funktion för att demokratin skall hållas levande. Denna kommunikation bereds det möjlighet för bland annat via IT-stöd i olika former, varav e-post är den vanligaste. Denna studie visar dock att nivån på elektronisk kommunikation mellan medborgare och kommunalpolitiker är låg, trots att politikerna är positiva till fenomenet. Denna studie, som är baserad på intervjuer med skånska kommunpolitiker från fyra olika kommuner, fann att elektronisk kommunikation i första hand kan ökas genom att på olika sätt påverka medborgarnas vilja till att ta denna kontakt men att folkvalda också bör ta till sig tanken att mer aktivt söka kontakt med medborgarna. Vårt förslag är att denna kontakt tas via forum som är av mindre politisk karaktär men där medborgarna naturligt befinner sig.

The aim of this paper is to describe which view the Chinese government in connection with the Olympics wants to display for the natural world and analyze if this view coincide with China?s foreign-policy goals. A qualitative content analysis is used. By using the theory of rational choice and a model with three different political approaches I want to examine whether or not the foreign-policy goals of the Chinese regime comport with the view that displays in two major newspapers in China. Since the runoff voting in Moscow in 2001 for the 2008 Olympics the Chinese government has been able to act rational and to compose different strategies to use the Games in Beijing for political propaganda.

En förstudie om framgångsfaktorer och hinder med avseende på jämställdhetsarbete med fokus på ledarskap och medarbetarskap. Vilka faktorer stödjer/hindrar en framgångsrik implementering av jämställdhetsarbete? Viken roll har ledarskap, medarbetarskap och kommunikation i denna implementeringsprocess? Kvalitativ studie baserad på intervjuer. I en politisk styrd organisation skall jämställdhetsmål lyftas upp och diskuteras, men i praktiken görs det sällan. Vi vill därför belysa vilka faktorer kan främja och hindra en framgångsrik implementering av jämställdhetsmålen i enheten Äldre, Funktionshindrade, Rehab ? Vård och Omsorg i en stadsdel i Malmö.

The new media landscape is growing by the minute with blogs, web pages and different communities. The latest phenomenon that has grown rapidly throughout the world is Facebook. This is at new platform for communications where individuals can meet and socialise. Even political actors have started to appear on this community to work and spread their opinions. Several of the Swedish political parties are represented with different group, among them we have the two biggest political youth organisations: MUF (Young conservatives) and SSU(Young socialists).This study examines how Facebook can be used as a tool to create opinion.

GBD-Storage Systems is a company that provides the industries with products for efficient storage.The company produces pallet racks and accessories like cassettes and extending units. The companyhas also supplied tire racks for a number of tire companies. The company's CEO Gunnar Berglund hasfor some time had an idea to improve the working situation of the workers on tire firms by allowingthe wheels to be handled by a counterbalance truck. The current situation poses numerous heavy liftswhen the tires are handled and therefore is hurting the workers.This thesis has been aiming at helping the GBD-Storage Systems by developing a concept of howan accessory to counterbalanced trucks can be designed to cope with the wheels. This concept willthen be produced as prototype by the company.

The purpose with my essay was to investigate how genre pedagogy works in a practical manor? I wanted to reach a deeper understanding for the genre pedagogy and to find out if it fits all students. To investigate this issue I have asked following questions:What is genre pedagogy?How do teachers work with different genres in the genre pedagogy?For whom is the genre pedagogy?Is the critic right that Frøydis Hertzberg is proposing about the genre pedagogy formalism? I have been using qualitative methods, to gather my empirical data. I have been using two unstructured interviews and one unsystematically observation, in a third grade class in a school south of Stockholm, with 30% second language students.

Since the disintegration of the Soviet Union a lot of hope has been put on civil society to help develop Russia into a more democratic society. This study explores the constructive elements in the relationship between civil society and the state in Russia, and how this enables the work toward political development. By using Julie Fishers theory about political development and organisational autonomy I discuss the varying and often complex ways in which civil society and the state interacts. These are often not mentioned in the liberal tradition, which believes that civil society's most important democratic function is to act as a watchdog for the state.There is very limited political space for NGO's in authoritative Russia. The existing oppositional NGO's are important for the political development, but they are few and their impacts on society are limited.

The subject this thesis will investigate concerns the matter of how political ideologies exist within public libraries with a focus on the democratic ideal. Public libraries are part of the political system and we want to show how political ideologies take their shape in public libraries and the possible consequences of this. With the help of three major political ideologies, liberalism, conservatism and socialism we investigate how the democratic ideals of these ideologies are expressed in documents that describes activities the libraries will and have performed. In order to identify these ideologies we use discourses in cultural policy as a bridge between the investigated documents and the political ideologies. As an analytical tool we have developed a model that describes the relation between text, discourse and ideology which we use in our analysis.

This essay is about the Workers Communist Party. My method for the analyzing part in this essay is qualitative methods such as text and idea analysis. I have chosen the words of Claudin to describe which ideological standpoints Workers Communist Party have. First I write about the background to why Workers Communist Party was formed in 1977. The background is the big split of extreme left wingers from the left party, which formed several organisations such as The Communist Marxist-Leninist Revolutionary Party and The Communist Organization for Marxist-Leninists.

This essay, called Motivation and reading comprehension, is a study of the correlation between the motivation to read and the reading comprehension of Swedish students in their final year of school before university level, meaning that they are eighteen or nineteen years old, sometimes more.The relation between the identity of the individual and the learning process has been a matter of scientific interest for some time, and this essay works in that tradition by investigating the connection between how pupils regard reading and how well developed their ability to decode text is.The reading comprehension is measured through a test that consists of a text from the Swedish epic by Vilhelm Moberg, Invandrarna, where the reader at certain intervals throughout the text is asked to mark the correct word from a choice of three. This test has been used and evaluated extensively by Per Fröjd, who has found that the results are reliable and useful.To measure the motivation to read I?ve constructed a survey to be answered before taking the reading test. It focuses on three different parts of reading motivation that are noted as the most important ones by Ivar Bråten. These are the feeling of joy and interest for reading, the goal to acquire knowledge of a specific subject, and the expectations that you have on yourself as a reader.Results show a weak or non-existent correlation between the two factors for the whole of the subjects, but once those who have a first language other than Swedish are removed the correlation becomes significant.

Problemformulering och syfte: Utifrån de oenigheter som råder kring effekten av valkampanjer anser vi att det är intressant att undersöka Moderaternas arbete med den visuella identiteten. Syftet med denna studie är därför att undersöka hur Moderaterna arbetar med sin visuella identitet för att återspegla förändringarna i partiet.Metod och material: Detta är en fallstudie som grundas på kvalitativa textanalyser och intervjuer.Huvudresultat: Studien visar på betydelsen av en stark visuell identitet, för att organisationen ska kunna nå ut med sitt budskap ? för att en organisation ska kunna nå framgång krävs både ett bra budskap och en god presentation av detta. Moderaterna försöker av denna anledning att hela tiden förändras och återspegla politikens innehåll i sin visuella identitet. Studien visar också på att det är viktigt att kommunicera rätt för att kunna genomföra lyckade förändringar samt att det ingår många strategiska val inom politisk kommunikation då målgruppen är bred..

Uppsatsen har till syfte att kartlägga problematiken med inflytandegrad och olika förutsättningar för politiskt deltagande för Malmö stads invånare genom Malmöinitiativet och Malmöpanelen. Det är två demokratiska innovationer som implementerats i Malmö stad för att utöka invånarnas politiska delaktighet och stärka legitimiteten i politisk beslutsfattning. Studien har en demokratiteoretisk utgångspunkt som ligger till grund för att förstå de relevanta aspekterna av undersökningsobjektet. Dokumentforskning och intervjuer används för informationsinsamling om Malmöinitiativet och Malmöpanelen. Resultatet analyseras genom det demokratiteoretiska ramverket.
