This is an essay in Swedish on the subject of democracy and demonstrations of collective violence. The study is based on a conflict between the youth-house movement in Copenhagen and the state of Denmark - the city of Copenhagen. The focus is over the period December 2006 until January 2008 with reflection on the political movement around the youth-house from the 80's and onwards. This political movement roots back to the late 60's and especially the squatting movement, the BZ, of Europe which had a strong period in Denmark both in the 60's and the 80's. There is also a strong connection to other political movements of anti-fascism, anti-globalisation, queer activism and equal rights.

Our purpose with this essay was to make a comparative study of the methadone programme in Sweden versus Denmark. We wanted to examine the issue by illustrating the historical and recent development of the drug political policy and the growth of the methadone programme in both countries.We chose to work with the following questions:1. What differences occur in the methadone programme if you compare the same in Denmark and Sweden? 2. How is the respective methadone programmes designed? 3.

Nattklubbslivet i Karlstad ser idag helt olika ut vid en jämförelse mellan torsdagar och helgdagar. På torsdagar har Arena mest gäster medan Nöjesfabriken och Blue Moon Bar har de flesta gästerna på helger. Studenterna spelar här en viktig roll då främsta anledningen till Arenas popularitet på torsdagar beror på att de anordnar studenttorsdagar. Arena ser sedan ett mönster att studenterna väljer de andra nattklubbarna på helgerna och det här vill de ändra på. Syftet med uppsatsen är att klarlägga vilka faktorer som ligger till grund för studenters val av nattklubb, att försöka hitta förklaringar på studenters attityder gentemot nattklubben för att försöka ändra dessa samt att klargöra genom vilka kanaler som studenterna med fördel kan nås.Den teoretiska referensramen är indelad i tre olika avsnitt; begrepp, konsumentbeteende och marknadskommunikation.I en kvantitativ enkätundersökning som gjorts vid Karlstads universitet har 184 studenter svarat på frågor vi funnit relevanta för syftet.

The present state of politics in contemporary Venezuela portrays a country of polarization, a chase for power and accusations of authoritarian and even undemocratic rule. The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to examine the democracy in Venezuela, in order to clarify the sometimes vauge perception of the political situation. By applying the theories of polyarchical democracy put forth by Robert Dahl, one of the most highly regarded theorists on the subject, accordingly the discussion will therefore follow a theoretical framework. Dahl requires seven nstitutions to be guaranteed in a democracy, amongst them the possibility to vote, run for public office and the practise of freedom of speech. Measuring Dahl's levels of institutions in Venezuela, it is made clear that the level of democracy vary in different areas.

This paper is an attempt to distinguish the specifics of the conflict resolution process and the negotiations during trade conflicts. First of all, this kind of conflict almost always contains some kind of protectionism which doesn?t make sense economically. Imposing trade-barriers decrease the overall welfare of your own nation and the only winner is the protected sector. These policies can be introduced since the political pressure from threatened industries is usually much stronger than the pressure from the consumers who will bear the burden of protectionism.

Tutor: Arne Larsson. ?Women?s conditions in municipal politics in the municipality of Karlstad - Six politicians tell?.  The purpose of this paper is to explore women?s conditions in the municipal political work in the municipality of Karlstad.

The aim of this comparative study is to analyse the French and the Polish regional governance in order to see if there are any differences in their regional ruling systems. Further more I will study their different possibilities in taking part in the European Union regional political market. The shape of the regional systems will be explored both organisationally (study of the institutional entities of the regional construction) and functionally (study of the competencies of the regional body etcetera) to focus on its cause on the regional development. My over all focus will be to find out whether regional rule means differently in the countries France and Poland.Several questions are dealt with and the two main ones are as follows; How do the different structures of the form of government in France and Poland influence the governance on the regional level? Do Poland, as a new member state of the European Union, have what it takes to face the challenges of the new membership; or are there a complex of problems arising from the admittance that prevent its regions from fully taking part in the European regional political market?Some of my conclusions are as follows;There are major differences between the two countries when it comes to their regional ruling systems leading to different abilities in taking part in the European regional political market.

I dagens samhälle verkar organisationer i en allt mer osäker miljö där konkurrensen blivit hårdare, utvecklingen allt snabbare och acklimatisering alltmer viktigt. Det här gäller även sportorganisationer, vilket skapat problem för ledningar och klubbdirektörer. För att bli en framgångsrik idrottsförening, både ekonomiskt och sportsligt, är det viktigt att föreningen följer med i utvecklingen och anpassar sig till den föränderliga omgivningen. Vissa beslut kan innebära investera eller dö situationer för organisationer, där överlevnad står på spel. Ett tillvägagångssätt för sportorganisationer att hänga med i utvecklingen är att investera i en arena.

This thesis aims to examine the nature of the medial compartment regarding the reporting of problems in conjunction with suburbs. Previous research on discrimination in the media shows that people living in the suburbs considers suburbs being portrayed negatively in the media. They perceive that this has a negative effect on integration which in turn increases the risk of stigmatization. This study strives to contribute to the clarification of whether medias means of reporting around this area can help in the development of problems in suburbs by examining whether there is a reflection of actual political focus in the media or if media only plays a stigmatizing role. The research method used has been quantitative content analysis, making an overview of how much space is given to the different types of reporting. The thesis concludes that the reporting examined in this study did not appear to be of a structurally discriminatory nature, even if that type of reporting occurred.

This thesis has the purpose of developing a normative theoretical framework based on different political philosophers and scientists view on deliberative democratic theory, discourse ethics and a modified norm of citizenship. This framework is supposed to contain the ideal communicative situation for people seeking asylum. Hence, the thesis argues that political influence is best practised through communicative rights, and that people seeking asylum are in title to such rights. We conclude that the standards needed to be met in order to reach the ideal are: translators, translated information, arenas for- or channels of communication, language education, and deliberative education. Once the framework is established we focus our interest on the Swedish state.

Which general outlines are preferable in the relation between organizations and government? From normative theory and method I throw light upon this question by defining and comparing two different democratic standpoints. The substantial democratic standpoint focuses on political effectiveness and the procedural democratic standpoint focuses on equal representation. The normative discussion aims at comparing how well the different standpoints function in political praxis. Since the ambition is to discuss concrete praxis I have also chosen to analyse an extensive case of interest influence in Swedish politics empirically.

Denna C-uppsats handlar om hur en utemiljö kan vara en inspirerande arena för barns utveckling och lärande samt hur det kan gå till när det ska skapas en ny utemiljö på en specifik förskolegård. Vi formulerade tre forskningsfrågor som skulle göra det möjligt att uppnå vårt syfte: Vad hade pedagogerna tänkt på vid utformningen av den nya utemiljön? På vilket sätt har barnen fått vara delaktiga att utforma utemiljön? Hur skapas tillfällen för utveckling och lärande i utemiljön? För att få svar på våra forskningsfrågor använde vi oss av gåtur, fokusgruppsamtal och barnintervjuer. I vår studie deltog tio pedagoger och 17 barn. Resultatet visade att pedagogerna hade många tankar om utformningen av utemiljön som handlade om tillgängligheten av olika material, möjligheten att experimentera och träna sin motorik men också att barns delaktighet och inflytande inte tillvaratagits i någon högre grad.

In this thesis I analyse civilizations in South America. I construct civilizationalnarratives through the method of emplotment, to build a historic continuity, whichI subsequently connect to the theoretical framework. The theory emphasise that,when confronted with globalization and free market capitalism, civilizationsembark on different strategies to challenge the power of transnational marketforces. I find that South America is a polarised continent, and is divergingconcerning the relationship towards the USA and free trade agreements. On thesame time the issues that concern the social movements are not being reproducedin a significant matter at state level.
