During the autumn of 2008 I obtained office experience by working at the local government of Örnsköldsvik. I started working on the district green plan of the green structure and that led to the work of this exam paper. The purpose of this exam paper has been to define some standpoints for the green structure of the local government district of Örnsköldsvik. I have used both a larger and a smaller scale to obtain a wide a perspective as possible of the green structure. The larger scale gives an overall view of the whole municipality while the smaller scale is found in the study of the two local areas Centrum and Domsjö. For the local government planning to be able to obtain an agreeable level of verdure to the residents it is necessary that the green structure is brought up on the agenda.

Portable IT devices such as laptops, smart phones and computer tablets are becoming ever more ubiquitous. At the same time, the population of the Western world is growing older, with aging bringing about changes with regards to individuals' physical and mental capabilities. These facts raises important questions about how well suited these devices are for use by elderly people. This study focuses on the cognitive aspects of the devices' usability, using the concept of mental models to analyze the users' understanding of a computer tablet. It also draws upon theory of graphical user interfaces in its analyses.

Parenteral nutrition inom palliativ vård kan vara både livsnödvändig och livsförlängande för vissa patienter, men värdet är ofta debatterat. Distriktssköterskan ansvarar för och har en central roll i den palliativa omvårdnaden av patienten i hemmet och rollen omfattar symtomlindring, samordning, information samt socialt och emotionellt stöd för patienten och dennes familj. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva distriktssköterskors upplevelser av att vårda patienter med parenteral nutrition i palliativ vård. Tolv distriktssköterskor från primärvården i norra Sverige deltog i studien. Data samlades in med semistrukturerade intervjuer och analyserades med tematisk innehållsanalys.

Uppsatsen har sin utgångspunkt i det faktiska material som finns i tio valda tidningar gällande telegramnyheter. De valda tidningarna har analyserats genom syntetiska veckor i fem årgångar för att få fram en bild av hur förekomsten av telegramnyheter i svensk press såg ut under slutet av 1800-talet. För att se det statistiska material genom ett par teoretiska glasögon, analyseras resultatet genom Benedict Andersons teori om en föreställd, nationell gemenskap. Frågan är primärt hur förekomsten av telegramnyheter ser ut och på ett mindre, sekundärt plan om telegramnyheten bidrar till den svenska pressens stärkande av den nationella föreställningen? För att få en inblick i telegramnyheten inleds uppsatsen med en historisk kontextualiseringen, som ska vara till hjälp för läsaren att förstå bakgrunden till dess utveckling, både på ett internationellt, men dock främst, nationellt plan..

Denna uppsats behandlar den nu gällande amerikanska säkerhetsdoktrinen (NSS). Uppsatsensmålsättning är att undersöka om den gällande amerikanska säkerhetsdoktrinen tjänar sompreventionsmedel och som ett uttryck för statlig tvångsdiplomati. Säkerhetsdoktrinenanalyseras för att komma åt den nya säkerhetspolitiska paradigmen. Vidare preciserarrespektive undersöker uppsatsen den utslagsgivande säkerhetspolitiska kalkylen för attsäkerställa amerikanska nationella intressen och överväganden ur ett geostrategiskt perspektiv.Som metod för att undersöka frågeställningarna respektive uppsatsämnet används härvid enkvalitativ textanalys. Analysverktyget som används har tagits fram för att granska utrikes- ochförsvarspolitiska doktriner och tjänar därför uppsatsens syfte väl.

Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka hur LSS-handläggarna upplever arbetet med samordnade och/eller individuella planer i sina ärenden med personer beviljade insatser enligt 9§ LSS. Studien var kvalitativ och data samlades in genom semi-strukturerade intervjuer. Uppsatsens tre frågeställningar (rutiner och arbetsmetoder, syfte med planerna samt hur planerna fungerar som verktyg för kvalitetssäkring) har varit en röd tråd genom arbetet. Det framkommer i studien att inte alla kommuner har rutiner gällande erbjudande samt upprättande av planerna. Resultaten visade dock på att man upplever att planerna tjänar ett bra och tydligt syfte, om det är möjligt för den enskilde att tillgodogöra sig planen.

Due to the fact that the heritage-sector has limited resources, in combination with sometimes vaguely and obsolete conservation documents, the sector have difficulties of responding common economic arguments, which leads that the real estate-owner gets total interpretative prerogative.However, despite a sometimes suspicious political attitude towards an improved conservation document, e.g. with continuously updates concerning a building?s technical and economic status, there are some political initiatives working towards it..

The artistic subjects disappeared from the obligatory curriculum of the Swedish secondary school in 2011. The purpose of this work is to analyze to which extent the new curriculum Lgy11 is based on scientific results when it comes to the role the aesthetics were given. This paper analyzes the documents that preceded the reform, such as Government Reports and Interpellation Debates, for a start. It continues with an analysis of an interdisciplinary group of researchers, whose scientific work include research of impacts of art and art education in ordinary education and learning in a more holistic perspective. Finally an analysis of the curriculum itself is made.

The aim of this paper is to examine how the Swedish implementation of the new trafficking laws may differ from the original intention from the UN and EU and if they are substandard due to poorly conducted law implementation. Or if it might be a victim of political symbolism, to win support and votes for the politicians in power from the people, a ?hollow showpiece? only meant to be shown off. Trafficking is a relatively new phenomena and problem to be researched and discussed. This paper investigates the impact of the Palermo protocols international definition of the problem, the convention against organized crime presented by the European Union on the Swedish legal system and its action plan. A qualitative text analysis focusing on the discourse of the intentions behind the internationally presented legal documents and compared against the carrying out of said national objectives.

WesDyne TRC sysselsätter sig med oförstörande provning av Kärnkraftverk, både i Sverige ochutomlands. WesDyne TRC tillverkar och konstruerar robotar vilka är kapabla till att utföra dentyp av inspektion som efterfrågas av kärnkraftverken.En av dessa inspektionsrobotar är T-skannern, en smal robot vilket gör den lämpad till att utförainspektionsarbeten i smala spaltutrymmen. Fyra sugkoppsmoduler får manipulatorn att fästa motreaktortanksväggen. Detta genom att skapa undertryck med hjälp av trycksatt vatten. Dettrycksatta vattnet regleras med hjälp av ventiler.

Detta arbete är en studie över investeringsmöjligheten vid tävlingsfenomenet Window Dressing inför kvartalsskiftena. Studien bygger på analys av en tredagars långt event-fönster inför kvartalsskiftena mellan år 1996 och 2005 på den svenska aktiemarknaden. Window Dressing uppstår i prestationsbaserade sammanhang och är mest känd när börsföretag dagarna före sina finansiella kvartalsrapporter ror i land ytterligare affärstransaktioner i syfte att dra fördel av sista stundens nyupptäckta affärsmöjligheter. På samma sätt är det antaget att fonderna agerar, inom den egna strategins ram, genom aktiva köp och säljtransaktioner dagarna inför sina kvartalsvisa innehavsredovisningar, baserad på nyupptäckta möjligheter från exempelvis momentumeffekter. Fenomenet får sin acceptans från den betydande konkurrensen på fondmarknaden där fonderna tävlar om att uppvisa skicklighet i värdeskapande.

The purpose of this master thesis is to describe the professional and literary life of Karl-Gunnar Wall, city librarian of Katrineholm between 1944 and 1975. Questions at issue are the reasons for Walls literary interests, Walls choice of occupation, crucial personal meetings, the context in which Wall acts, Walls fundamental principles as a librarian and as a critic, and the features comprising Walls life history. The method used is a merely qualitative one called "life history". It is founded on in-depth interviews with the persons involved and emanates from the individuals own story about his life. I have carried out three taped interviews; one with Wall himself, and two with his colleagues.

It is popular to keep reptiles as pets in Swedish households. The number of households reporting reptile ownership is more than 15 000 (SCB, 2006). This means that a veterinary practice should consider how to take care of reptiles as patients. The aim of this study was to examine literature and studies concerning safe handling and restraint of reptiles as well as the effects of acute and long term stress response and to suggest a simplified plan for handling reptiles in a veterinary practice. The result of literary studies is that common recommendations for safe handling and restraint of reptiles is based on old techniques and experiences from safe handling of wild animals. The main concern is safety for the veterinary nurse and for the reptile. Stress studies indicate that acute stress response is not harmful for the animal i long term. On the other hand studies of the effect of prolonged stress are not conclusive.

Bygglovsprocessen kan vara omfattande och ses som en jobbig process för privatpersoner som inte är insatta inom ämnet. Bygglovsprocessen regleras av plan- och bygglagen [PBL].En fallstudie har utförts inom Gävle kommun för att ta reda på om bygglovsprocessen kan förenklas för privatpersoner. För att få en överblick över vad som krävs för att ansöka om bygglov har Gävles bygglovsprocess samt lagar och förordningar granskats.Studien grundar sig delvis på en intervju med Gävle kommun som utfördes muntligt, och delvis på en enkätundersökning som skickades till privatpersoner för att ta reda på vilka steg i bygglovsprocessen som de fann svåra att utföra. Enkäten skickades ut via webben till 341 privatpersoner som ansökte om bygglov år 2013. 125 personer deltog, vilket gav en svarsfrekvens på 36,7 %.Resultaten från studien har fram lett till förslag på förbättringsåtgärder.
