Inmy exam project I elected to work with a photographicpublication about fragments of Pictures combined in differentways, changing the context of the photographs andmaking the reader search for the whole picture, literary.During the project I tried to create a method for foldingwhich would make the Pictures communicate differentlydepending on how they where stacked against each other.I wanted to explore new ways to read the photo book, andhow the format could be transformed by folding, to beable to show the Pictures in a larger scale. Working withthe material from an earlier project about defragmentation,I wanted to create a book that would correspond tothis and figure out how it would work..

AbstractThe purpose of the study was to examine if manual signs used as support to spoken and written language can be a god mnemonic for learning of word-Pictures. I performed my study as an experiment in which I made a Memory game with word-Pictures. I played the game with the children twice. The first time, we played without manual signs and the second time I used sign as a support. I observed the children and noted the words they learned to read with and without the support of manual signs.

The first part of the thesis consists of a brief introduction to the general principles of target detection and the sensor-systems used. In the following part there is a theoretical description of the algorithms this thesis focuses on. The detection algorithms described in this paper are called Cell Average, Ordered Statistics, 2parameter and Gammadetector. Two different discriminators called Extended Fractal Features and Quadratic Gamma Discriminator are also described. The algorithms are tested on three different types of data, simulated SAR-Pictures, authentic SAR-targets and IR-Pictures.

This BA Thesis in Journalism is a quantitative analysis of the coverage of wolves in Swedish printed media. Namely four daily newspapers, two national and two local. The two national newspapers are Aftonbladet which is a leading tabloid newspaper with national coverage and Svenska Dagbladet which is one of the two major newspapers with national coverage, as well as coverage of the greater Stockholm region. The two local newspapers are Falu Kuriren, which is located in Falun and mainly cover the province of Dalarna and Nya Wermlands-tidningen which is located in Karlstad and mainly cover the province of Värmland. These are provinces which have a large wolf population.As the work progressed we found that the newspapers have handled the coverage of the wolf in, what we believe, a good way.

With a new digital world that runs parallel with our physical one, we are also facing a new type of architecture and new materials that this new architecture is built on. In this thesis I examine pixels and vectors, two of the digital materials used to create Pictures. By approaching them as digital materials, I have mapped their different qualities, when and where one or the other is more or less applicable and the reason behind it. My main research question asked was the following: Are the (digital) materials challenged outside their primary fields of application, and in that case, in which way? The aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between text and picture in two works by Sven Nordqvist, with the focus on how the action is propelled. With some help of a few interviews, with children, and some staff members, in two different schools, I hope to answer the question: if the picture of the operation, that the children and the staff are having, has some similarities, and I will try to compare these Pictures with what some legal documents such as Lgr 11 and Kvalitet I Fritidshem is saying about daycare opera-tions? The children are frustrated of how the staff is answering them about different things and the staff is frustrated about how the headmasters are answering them.

This essay is called ?The hunt for anarchists- a study about the police in Stockholm's collection of bandit portrait during the turn of the century 1900? and it is about the criminal category ?Anarchists? who the police in Stockholm used at the turn of the century 1900.  In the archive from the police in Stockholm during the essays time perspective, 1899-1909,  there are about one hundred photographs in the category ?Anarchists?, about half of these Pictures have no information besides the names of the people, but the other half, 48 persons, have some information about age, work title and where the person come from. The information showed that the people in the Pictures where not from Sweden, and after controlling them in all different kinds of archives I found only ten of them have left any traces in Stockholm. What I realized then was that the people on the Pictures are anarchists from different countries in Europe, mostly from Italy, and that the police in Stockholm had these Pictures because different police stations around Europe had sent them to the police in Stockholm. One approach to copying the object is photographing the object, and from these photographs create a copy.

Abstract The purpose of this work is to investigate children?s perception of Swedish birds. Through qualitative questions there were twelve children interviewed. I showed the Pictures for the children of different animals that we discussed but with focus on birds. The children could partly distinguish which of the Pictures that represented birds and who did not.

In a condominium with two-apartment buildings, lies an area, formerly used as a playground, nowadays wasted and abandoned. The owner wanted to embellish the place and get a new use for it, preferably as a gathering- and feast-place. The work is described with focus on the construction with describing Pictures and sketches. The production of the sketches is not reported more than that they are attached at the end of the paper.
