Introduction: Reducing social inequality in health is a prioritized goal for public health on the global as well as the national and the local levels. Hälsoteket operates through health promotion to reduce inequality in health in the district of Angered in Göteborg, through the improvement of living habits and the wellbeing of the population.Aim: The aim of the study was to evaluate Hälsoteket in Angered through its participants? subjective experiences. Subsidiary aims were to explore participants? perceptions and opinions about Hälsoteket in Angered, how they perceive the health impact of their participation and their motivations for participating.Method: A qualitative method was used to fulfill the aim.

Every place is a stage where people interact. The nature of the stage and its scenography to some extent shapes the interaction. Considered as a place, the school ground gives rise to many varying expectations. Lower school pupils often have clear ideas of how they are expected to behave and how they are expected to use the place. But as the pupils age, the purpose of the school ground grows less obvious.

Forskning har visat att fysisk aktivitet ger en bättre prognos för kvinnor som drabbats av bröstcancer. Den beskrivs också ha betydelse för symtomlindring vid cytostatikarelaterade biverkningar, vilket i sin tur leder till ökad livskvalité hos dessa kvinnor. Det har även framkommit i studier att det råder brister inom sjukvården vad gäller att förmedla sådan information. Som ett första steg behövs en kartläggning av den fysiska aktiviteten hos kvinnor med bröstcancer, deras aktivitetsvanor och vilken betydelse fysisk aktivitet har för dem under pågående cytostatikabehandling. Denna studie genomfördes som en tvärsnittstudie med syftet att beskriva fysisk aktivitet hos kvinnor med bröstcancer som genomgår adjuvant cytostatikabehandling.

Motivation är ett ord som är välbekant inom skolans värld, och ett ord som är viktigt inom idrott och hälsa. Elevers inställning till ämnet idrott och hälsa är avgörande, inte bara för elevernas skolgång, utan även i det fortsatta livet. Som stöd och hjälp till att stimulera eleverna till en god inställning till ämnet finns idrottsläraren. Syftet med arbetet var att se vilken roll läraren har när det gäller att motivera sina elever i ämnet idrott och hälsa. Vidare ville jag se vilka erfarenheter läraren har, och vilka metoder som finns för att motivera sina elever.

The aim of this study was to increase our understanding of how secondary schools handle the different forms of bullying in different arenas. The questions we were asking us was how schools work to prevent and treat against bullying based on plans of action, how the schools are responsible in the bullying issues and how the schools and welfare officers have taken account of sex linkage in bullying issues. Our study is based on the result from seven qualitative semi- structured interviews with secondary school welfare officers in Sweden.  The study results show that traditional form of bullying takes place through verbal assault, physical violence, ostracism and glances. Welfare officers coincide that there are gender differences in the approach of bullying.

Intensivvårdspatientens utsatthet är väldokumenterad. Deras livsvärld präglas bland annat av stress, maktlöshet, brist på kunskap och kommunikation, sårbarhet och inre kaos. Patienter som vårdas på intensivvården befinner sig i ett rum där det finns mycket avancerad teknisk apparatur och många stimuli från omgivningen. Detta kan upplevas som en trygghet men också som skrämmande och livshotande. Vårdpersonalen har olika arbetsuppgifter och vad de gör i periferin uppmärksammas av patienten, därför är det av intresse att undersöka vad vårdpersonalen arbetar med inne på patientrummet vid icke patientnära kontakt samt hur de arbetar.

Placebo associeras ofta med de sockerpiller som bland annat används i vetenskapliga studier. De används för att, som verkningslös substans, jämföras med och på så sätt bedöma ett aktivt läkemedels effekt. Placebo kan dock innefatta mycket mer än så. Det bemötande patienten får spelar stor roll men även förväntan, betingning och sinnestillstånd påverkar en eventuell placeboeffekt. Placeboeffekten möts ofta med skepsis och i värsta fall avfärdas den som inbillning.

This informal sector generates large financial flows and provides for a rapidly growing population. The aim of this thesis is to develop an approach that is realistic and relevant to planning and design of an urban context in South Africa.

The purpose of the study is to investigate MRSA-positive individual´s perceptions of source isolation and barrier nursing, to find nursing inventions witch can provide these patients wellbeing. Eight scientific research reports have been examined, using the guiding principles of Polit et al (2001). In this work, a method was developed and evaluated for calculating the life of welds under the influence of fatigue loads from a vibration environment. Typically, a shaker table is used for testing a component against vibration loads. The shaker table creates a vibration environment that is defined in the frequency domain by a power spectrum.Similarly, a virtual vibration table can be used to calculate the same type of load environment, which can then be used to calculate the expected lifetime. The benefit of this method is that it can be used in design, as well as in simulation of tests before physical verification tests are carried out.Today there are methods for calculating fatigue life of non-welded base material, but since many components contain welded joints, there is a need to apply this method to those types as well. To achieve this, the thesis combines two different areas, which together provide a method for fatigue assessment of welds using a virtual shaker table.The methodology is carried out by modeling the component, and its welded joints, in a finite element program.
