Breeding practices of Red Maasai sheep in Maasai pastoralist communities
A survey was undertaken to understand sheep management, breeding practices and selection criteria for Red Maasai sheep in Maasai pastoralist communities in Kajiado District, Kenya. Differences between North and South Kajiado District were investigated to gain knowledge about farmers having different prerequisites and how it can affect the sheep production. The reason for keeping sheep and the specific breeds show the multiple objectives of the Maasai farmers. Adaptive traits, such as resistance to diseases and droughts, and productive traits, such as increased growth and carcass weight, were both ranked highly. In addition to this, the sheep has a social and traditional value in Maasai culture.

To choose a conception of faith based upon personal preferences fits some modern man better. The purpose of this thesis is to examine if it?s possible to create a personal religion and how such a process looks.
Är jag Kalmar nation? : en jämförande identitetsanalys aven studentnation och dess medlemmar
Purpose/Aim: To describe likenesses and differences between the personal identity of the common Kalmar nation member and the collective identity of the organization Kalmar nation as described by said members.Material/Method: Collecting data through a quantitative survey, where the members answer questions about themselves and Kalmar nation, and subsequent analysis of said data by means of theories about personal, collective, and brand identity.Main results: After analyzing the data from the survey I conclude that there exists both likenesses and differences between the organization and its members. Some likenesses are more pronounced than others, and the same can be said for the differences. However, within the three areas of study (specific identity traits, politics and music) politics and music showed more similarity between the members and the nation than the specific identity traits did. The most interesting aspect of the analysis show that the members have quite a common view of the organization despite their own widely different descriptions of themselves..

The cattle production in the world has been questioned in Sweden due to its negative impacts on the environment. The use of imported soya bean meal as a protein feed for Swedish cattle results in the cutting of rainforest and an extensive use of pesticides in the countries were the soya beans are produced. As a consequence, the environmental impacts caused by cattle production increases. A production of protein feeds in Sweden would decrease the transportations and the cutting of rainforest. For organic beef producers the possibility to produce home-grown protein feeds is important since organic protein feeds can be difficult to obtain in another way.

Hans Olof Alsén, born 16 august 1926, is a Swedish Social Democrat politician who served as the County Governor of Uppsala from 1986 to 1992. During the 1960s, -70s and -80s he had several political commissions including Member of Parliament and government Undersecretary. In addition he had numerous Board of Directors assignments in different business corporations as well as in non commercial associations both prior to, during and after the County Governor period.This paper describes the organizing and cataloguing of Hans Alsén's personal archives. The documents at hand were deposited at the regional state archives (Landsarkivet) in Uppsala in 2008 and 2009 by Alsén himself. The documents almost exclusively cover the County Governor years 1986-1992.
Dutch Disease and Tourism - The Case of Thailand
Tourism is often being viewed as one of the worlds largest sectors and a great contribution to growth and development. There is a large motivation amongst developing countries to promote themselves as a tourist destination, since they expect the tourism to generate economic growth. The government of Thailand has been promoting tourism since 1960, and the number of foreign visitors has increased from 100 000 back then to 13.5 million in 2006. The purpose of this paper was to investigate weather the increasing tourism industry in Thailand has pulled resources away from other sectors of the economy towards the tourism sector, and in that way harming Thailand?s international competitiveness and causing deindustrialization.

Arbetet beskriver den utbildningsverksamhet i Halmstad kommun som har till syfte att geelever utan gymnasiebchörighct möjlighet att läsa upp sina betyg för att kunna studeravidare på ett gymnasicprogram. Verksamhetsstudier oeh intervjuer med personal har gjorts vid två olika tillfällen; år 2001 besöktes Ungdomscentrum (UC) och år 2007 gjordes en uppföljning då verksamheten precis genomgått flera förändringar och idag räknas som en "egen" skola, Klaragymnasiet.Personalen har under många år kämpat för förändringar på UC, som en start ansågman att ändamålsenliga lokaler krävdes för att möjliggöra utvecklingar. Då och då harhoppet tänts då kommunen ti II satt personer i olika omgångar att utreda behoven ochmöjligheterna av förändringar i verksamheten, men gång efter annan har det saknats ekonomiskt stöd/intresse och planerna har runnit ut i sanden.Genom intervjuer med personal kan jag återge deras uppfattning om hur verksamhetenutvecklats de senaste åren för att idag bättre kunna tillgodose elevernas behov. En tydlig förändring är en positivare syn på verksamheten utav personalen. Man har genomkommunens satsningar kunnat anställa fler lärare och annan personal och därmedorganisera olika inriktningar/spår på skolan vilket ger såväl elever som personal enutbildning och arbetsmiljö med tydligare struktur.

Peasant diaries are notes written by farmers, crofters and other people connected with small-scale agriculture. The notes give unique information about diverse aspects of rural life, for example, personal relationships and work, travel and regularity of church attendance. One such diary was written by Jonas Åström who lived in the county of Västerbotten, Sweden. The main aim of this study is to describe the work done by farmers in the 19th century, focusing on their use of forest resources, as recorded in his diary.

"Att leva som andra" - om normalisering och den personliga assistentens roll i den funktionshindrades sexliv
The purpose of this essay was to investigate the view of what kind of role the personal assistant has in disabled people´s life and sexlife and how conceptions of a "normal" life and "to live like others" can be identified related to this. My research questions was: What does the expression "to live like others" mean to the organisations? What is the view in the organisations of the personal assistant´s role in the client´s life? What is the view in the organisations of the personal assistant´s role in the client´s sexlife? What is the view in the organisations of disabled people´s rights to get assisted help with sex? I chose to do semistructured interviews with different organisations related to disability and assistance and I analysed the interviews with theoretical aspects of social constructivism, the principle of normalization and the theory of SRV (Social Role Valorization), autonomy, individualism and models of action. My main conclusion were that the views of disabled people´s sexuality and the personal assistant´s role in disabled people´s sexlife were widely separate. However, almost all of the organisations were pointing out the autonomy of the individual and the importance of setting the limits.

Den psykosociala arbetsmiljön utifrån modellen; krav, kontroll och socialt stöd : En jämförande studie mellan personal på offentligt och privat äldreboende
Studier har visat att äldre personer i behov av vård ökar vilket kan leda till att vårdpersonalen upplever högre krav. Detta kan i sin tur resultera i arbetsrelaterad stress och ohälsa hos personalen. Utifrån Robert Karasek och Töres Theorells modell om krav, kontroll och socialt stöd kan man undersöka hur den psykosociala arbetsmiljön upplevs på en arbetsplats. Enkäter delades ut i samarbete med enhetschefer på de båda äldreboendena. 40 undersökningsdeltagare ingick i studien.

Bakgrund: Förmågan att attrahera kompetent personal har blivit allt viktigare på de konkurrentutsatta arbetsmarknaderna. Ett sätt att marknadsföra företag som arbetsgivare och därmed locka till sig arbetskraft är genom användningen av företagets egen webbsida.Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva hur ett företag använder den egna webbsidan för att tillgodose behovet av att attrahera kompetent personal. Vidare beskrivs marknadsföringens roll i denna process.Teori: Uppsatsen bygger på teorier kring attraktionsfasen i rekrytering, kopplingen mellan marknadsföring och rekrytering, viktiga aspekter i skapandet av virtuella rekryteringsmiljöer samt teorier kring kvantitet och kvalitet i kandidatbasen.Metod: Uppsatsens empiriska undersökning baserar på en kvalitativ ansats. Usually, the growth of companies is put in context of the life cycle. The life cycle further implies that as a company moves from the startup-stage along the curve, the organizational structure increases. Further, increased structure is claimed to impede the entrepreneurial culture within the firm.
