Narkossjuksköterskors upplevelse och erfarenhet av kommunikation mellan vårdpersonal i en akut situation : en intervjustudie

Background: Good communication is very important for the safety of patients in emergency situations. Few studies have been conducted regarding communication among health care staff. The aim of the present study was to investigate anesthetist nurses experience of communication among health care staff during a situation of emergency in a hospital ward.Methods: The study is explorative and based on interviews with six anesthetist nurses. A qualitative content analysis was used as an analyses model.Result: The six anesthetist nurses experienced structured communication as of great importance during an emergency situation. Three main categories appeared from the material: i) the importance of the organization ii) communication structure and communication patterns and iii) education and experience with nine subcategories.

Utveckling av Analysverktyg för GEMS PET Systems : En användningscentrerad utvecklingsmetod

The company GEMS PET Systems produces cyclotrons which is a type of particle accelerator. The cyclotrons create log files that are analyzed by the company?s employees for different purposes like troubleshooting or installation. The purpose of the project is to with a usage-centered design method create a paper prototype of a tool that will help the employees to analyze the log files in a more efficient way than earlier.The result shows how the usage-centered design method was used to create the paper prototype and how the user interface was created according to human-computer interaction (HCI)..

Hemlösa personers upplevelse av mötet med hälso- och sjukvårdspersonal : en litteraturöversikt

Background: Homelessness is increasing, and health care is still difficult for many homeless people to achieve. If they get sick, it is both technically challenging to get a clinic they can go to, but also an economic problem because most of the homeless have no gainful employment. The fact that many homeless people experience bad attitudes of health care professionals is one reason why they don?t seek healthcare until an emergency arises. In the profession as a nurse, all people should be given equal treatment regardless of background.

Sjuksköterskors attityder till och upplevelser av att vårda personer med emotionellt instabil personlighetsstörning

Background: Patients with borderline personality disorder represent a large group in healthcare who are struggling with painful emotions in life. Caring should be based on strengthening health processes by focusing on the patients, but research made by the patient's perspective has shown that this population rather felt that their health processes was counteracted, than promoted. The patients felt that the nurses displayed a negative attitude towards them. Attitudes are defined as a system of values, emotions and actions towards others. Aim: the purpose of this study was to highlight the attitudes and experiences of nurses towards caring for people with borderline personality disorder  Methods: A study on the literature based on nine scientific papers was performed. The articles have been analyzed, systematically coded and compiled into a new unit. Results: This study shows that nurses have an overall negative attitude towards patients with borderline personality disorder.

Vi ser att det funkar! : - en kvalitativ studie av validations- och reminiscensmetodernas effektersett ur ett personalperspektiv.

The purpose of this essay is to examine how health care staff, in dementia care, feel that their work situation is affected by using two methods which are specifically designed for use in work with elderly persons suffering from dementia: validation and reminiscense.To examine this, we used a qualitative research method in the form of semistructured interviews with 6 assistant nurses/nurses. These nurses work in a living with dementia targeting which have recently applied the above two methods. Of the results reveals that nursing staff feel positive effects in their work through the use of validation and reminiscense. Examples of these positive effects are greater inclusiveness and strengthen relations in the staff group, strengthen relations between staff and residents, reduced medication of soothing medicine and improved communication with the persons suffering from dementia. The results show that nursing staff feel that it can be difficult to absorb the working methods, the importance of sufficient time and continuous guidance in the exercise of the methods and the need for a genuine interest for them to generate positive effects.

Background: Miscarriage is one of the most common complications connected to pregnancy, every fourth woman undergoes a miscarriage during her lifetime. There is often no medical explanation why miscarriage happens, although the risk may increase due to certain factors in lifestyle or diseases. During incomplete miscarriages medical or surgical treatment is needed.Women are treated at surgical or gynecological departments and the period of treatment is often very brief, on some occasions not even a day. Therefore, the nurse faces a great challenge in meeting the women?s needs during the period of treatment.Aim: The aim of the study is to illuminate womens experiences of miscarriage and the treatment they experienced.Methods: A systematic literary study containing 13 articles.Results: Miscarriage is an individual experience and many women are affected emotionally and have many strong feelings afterwards.

Benzodiazepines are drugs used to treat insomnia and anxiety. This group of drugs should be prescribed with the duty of care to the elderly because of it´s negative effects. Drug treatment is becoming increasingly widespread and contributes to the increasing number of interactions and complications for the elderly.

Kulturella värden, tro, levnadssätt och livsstil : faktorer som påverkar sjuksköterskans möte med muslimska patienter

There are over 1,5 billion Muslims living on earth and the religion is one of the world´s most increasing. Sweden is a country with a cultural diversity where about 300 000 Muslims lived in 1999. Today, the requirement for knowledge about caring for Muslims and the need of culturally competent nursing care are increasing.The aim of this study was to define cultural factors which the nurse has to recognize to be able to give culturally competent care to the Muslim patient. The method that has been used was a The Sunrise Model, which illustrates Leininger´s theory of culture care diversity and universality, provides a theoretical framework for the study. The results are presented on the basis of Leininger´s three cultural factors; cultural values, beliefs and lifeways.

Kvinnors upplevelser av vård i samband med missfall : En litteraturstudie

Bakgrund: Missfall är ett ofrivilligt avslutande av en graviditet som kan medföra känslor av chock, sorg och skuld. Vårdtiden vid missfall är ofta kortvarig och vårdpersonal har en betydande roll för kvinnornas upplevelse och återhämtning.Syfte: Syftet var att genom en litteraturstudie beskriva kvinnors upplevelser av missfall och den vård som ges i samband med missfall.Metod: Allmän litteraturstudie baserad på tio vetenskapliga artiklar med en kvalitativ design.Resultat: Resultatet bestod av tre huvudteman med tillhörande subteman. Det första huvudtemat var Kvinnors egna subjektiva tankar och känslor i samband med missfall med subteman Förlust av en graviditet, Skuldkänslor, Oro och förväntningar vid framtida graviditeter. Det andra huvudtemat var Kvinnors erfarenheter av bemötande från vårdpersonal vid missfall, med subteman Attityder och bemötande, Brist på information. Det sista huvudtemat var Kvinnors behov av stöd i samband med missfall med subteman Familj och närståendes betydelse, Vårdpersonalens betydelse.Slutsats: Missfall var en chockartad upplevelse, ofta präglad av existentiell smärta och sorg.

Aspects of caring for suddenly bereaved relatives

Background: When a person suddenly pass away, the relatives often arrive to the Emergency Department under chaotic circumstances. In this critical situation the nurse has an important role for the care. Many nurses lack of knowledge about how to take care of the bereaved relatives. Aim: The aim of the literature study was to describe aspects of caring for suddenly bereaved relatives. Method: The data for the study were scientific articles found in the databases PubMed and Cinahl and from a manual search.

Att vara partner till en person som drabbats av stroke : En litteraturöversikt

Patienters upplevelse av delaktighet i vård i livets slut : En systematisk litteraturstudie

Bakgrund: Palliativ vård utförs i hela vårdkedjan, från hemsjukvård till specialistvård på institution. Palliativ vård bygger på en helhetssyn som tryggas genom patientcentrerad vård där patientens delaktighet har en central roll.Syfte: Belysa vuxna patienters upplevelser av delaktighet då de vårdas i livets slutskede.Metod: Studien är en systematisk litteraturstudie främst baserad på metodik beskriven av Forsberg och Wengström (2013).Resultat: Temat möjligheter och hinder i upplevelsen av sin delaktighet växte fram, med fyra kategorier under sig: hantering av sin sjukdomssituation, överväldigande ny levnadssituation, bli sedd som individ och inte bli sedd som individ. Det framkom att patienter i livets slutskede fann möjligheter att vara delaktiga i sin vård genom införskaffandet av kunskap om sin sjukdom och sin framtid. Denna kunskap skapade förståelse över situationen hos patienterna, vilket gav dem redskap att lättare hantera och delta i sin vård. Upplevda hinder till delaktighet visade sig vara då patienterna upplevde sig förbisedda av vårdpersonal.Slutsats: Vuxna patienters upplevelser av delaktighet då de vårdas i livets slutskede går inte att beskriva som ett ensamt fenomen, utan behöver beskrivas utifrån en helhetssyn av patienten.  Den unika patienten bildar en dynamisk helhet, och behöver bemötas som den unika individ den är..

Att identifiera smärta hos personer med demenssjukdom : En litteraturstudie i omvårdnad

Background: Pain can be a constant problem in many older people's daily life, associated with particular physical and social disability, depression and poor quality of life. Dementia diseases are often associated with old age. Communication difficulties are one of the consequences of the disease, which clarifies the role of nursing staff in detecting and assessing pain. Objective: The aim was to compile knowledge about how nursing staff can identify pain in people with dementia. Method: A systematic literature review, where data were collected through manual and database searches.

Den fysiska boendemiljöns betydelse på boenden för demenssjuka

The purpose with this study was to examine which opinions and knowledge the directors have about the physical residential environment's importance on accommodations for people with dementia disease and how they do to create and to maintain a good physical residential environment. The issues have been: Which opinions and knowledge the directors had about the physical residential environment's importance for the people with dementia? How did the managers work in order to create and maintain a good physical residential environment? We had four themes, homelike environment on the accommodations, priorities on the accommodation, care/nursing in the physical residential environment and the manager?s possibility to influence the physical residential environment. The study followed a qualitative method. Five managers were interviewed on four accommodations and the managers were said to work actively with the physical residential environment.
