Shorter hospital stays increases the need for well functioning post hospital aftercare. Persons close to the patient are often involved in the aftercare and need information about self-care. This need is frequently not satisfied. The aim of this study was to investigate if the next-of-kin of patients cared for at the thoracic clinic at Uppsala University hospital, have received information about self-care and how they perceive the information they have been given. METHOD: To investigate this, questionnaires were sent out by mail.

The 1st of January 2009 a new goal was set for the emergency care in Stockholms läns landsting. This new goal stated that 70 per cent of the patients shall not spend more than four hours in the hospital when requesting emergency care. The processes in the emergency room at Södersjukhuset do not cope with this new goal. The authors studied the reasons for this and made suggestions based on the findings. The conclusions were that the emergency room should place doctors much earlier in the emergency care process or implement a system where specialists act as tutors to non-specialized doctors.

Background:In pace with the increasingly aging population will the number of older people in nursing homes and with care in home grow. This means that the nurse will face related to the older more frequently and more widely. Nurses has overall responsibility over both the care of the elderly as a responsibility of maintaining good relationships with related parties. Related parties are of great importance for the older individual, it is therefore relevant for the nurse to be able to interact in a respectful and sensitive manner to involve the relatives in care.Aim:The aim with this study was to highlight nurse's experiences of interaction with related parties to elderly in community health care.Method:A literature review based on nine qualitative articles was conducted. Friberg design was used with the inspiration of Lundman and Hällgren Graneheim regarding the analysis of Articles.Results:The study resulted in four themes.

There I was given the opportunity to meet different personalities and take part in their stories and everyday life. This work is intended primarily for animal nurses/veterinary technicians and describe parts of the rabbits digestive tract, causes of gastrointestinal disease, symptoms, diagnosis, general care of rabbits with gastrointestinal disease and how to prevent that gastrointestinal illness occur. The work is largely based on literature studies but also on a questionnaire sent out to rabbit owners to get answers on how they generally hold and care of rabbits, which gastrointestinal diseases that are most common, how owners care for their animals at home during illness and to examine if the owners think that the knowledge of this subject is good at his veterinarian/clinic.The purpose of this work is to improve the skills of animal nurses but also to improve the skills of owners through competent advice from animal nurses.The result show that gastrointestinal disease often is caused due to improper feeding and care of rabbits and therefore is advices from animal nurses an important part of preventive care. Animal nurses are also an important part of treatment of rabbits with gastrointestinal disease when supportive care as fluid therapy, supportive feeding and supply of a stress free environment is important for the animals to recover..

The aim of this study is to examine the language, used in parts of The day care report of 1968 (?1968 års Barnstugeutredning?). The day care report of 1968 was a public investigation appointed by the cabinet intended to prepare new policies on the part of the Swedish state.  I focus on the change, which can be assumed to have occurred, when replacing the names ?day care? (?dagis/daghem?) and ?kindergarten? (?lekskola?) with the name ?preschool? (?förskola?).

The aim of our study is to examine experience of the quality of life for elderly people with assisted living from their own, and caretakers, perspectives. We also aim to examine how elderly people in assisted living, and caretakers, experiences that they could affect the elderly people´s quality of life. The study is based on a qualitative method and the data is collected by interviews with four recipient of care and three care takers. The result shows that there are many factors that have an importance when it comes to quality of life for the recipient of care. It has shown in the study that the recipient of care and the caretakers put emphasize in the same factors. These factors are health, the affect of assisted living, happiness, relationships and self-determination. The result has shown that the assisted living has a major importance when it comes to the quality of life for the recipient of cares..

Background: HIV/AIDS has existed officially for more than 35 years and is now seen as a global epidemic. The disease has claimed many victims and there is no indication showing decrease of the mortality rate. The disease is currently incurable, but antiretroviral drugs have good effect at slowing down the process. The persons who live with the disease are exposed to stigma and, sometimes, negative attitudes. The negative attitudes could affect the person?s willingness carry through the test.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate how social workers, working in a management position in the health care system, perceive the encounter of the medical and social perspective. With seven qualitative interviews, the study tries to conclude whether or not social workers are accepted at managerial positions within the health care sector. The social worker is, as a manager in health care, a leader but at the same time in a professional alienation from the medical caregivers. Organizations in the health care sector are often multi professional and have their own long standing tradition, history and culture. The results show that the conditions for social workers, working in a management position in health care appear to be agreeable.

Med besittning avses i juridisk mening att någon faktiskt och rättsligt kontrollerar egendom, vilket inbegriper att det hos besittaren finns en vilja att besitta egendomen. Rättsfaktumet besittning ges långtgående rättsföljder inom såväl sakrätten som straffrätten, varför det är intressant att utreda vilka omständigheter som konstituerar besittning inom respektive rättsområde. Vidare har detta betydelse för besittningsbegreppets innebörd då besittaren är en juridisk person. Förfäktar man att en juridisk person har en rättskapande vilja medför det att rekvisiten för att en juridisk person skall anses utöva besittning är desamma som en fysisk dito. Anser man däremot att en juridisk person endast är en fiktiv skapelse, utan vilja, förutsätter detta att en fysisk ställföreträdare utövar besittning för den juridiska personen, vilket i sin tur borde leda till att rekvisiten för att en juridisk person skall räknas som besittare i juridisk mening väsentligen skiljer sig från dem som gäller för fysisk persons besittning.

This project is a deepening in how the space in psychiatric care setting can promote and improve thepatient?s well-being. The aim with this study was to create a manual for architects and the care to takepart of. This would consist of different aspects of how the space can be created for a more secure,care taking and healing space. With help of the manual the study would continue by creating a healingpatient room in a psychiatric clinic.The main questions were; can we create an environment which improves the healing process for thementally ill? What are the factors that we need to consider to creating a room for psychiatric care?This study only looks at the patient room, the common room and how the environment can affect theiremotional and physical well-being.By taking part of already made studies in this subject or similar, making my own studies by visitingpsychiatric departments and exploring how the spaces there contribute or not contribute to the healingprocess of the patient.

Var tredje person får beskedet cancer. Det här innebär att en hel familj kan komma att påverkas, vilket kan skapa ett lidande i förhållande till vården, sjukdomen, livet och vardagen, samt det existentiella. Syftet med studien är att belysa lidandet hos närstående till en cancersjuk person. Material samlades in genom att läsa nio utvalda bloggar där närstående skrev om sitt lidande i relation till den cancersjuka personen. I studien användes en deduktiv analys utifrån Erikssons (1994) teori om lidande.

Bakgrund: När en person blir svårt sjuk, är döende och behöver vårdas palliativt berörs inte bara den sjuke, utan även personer i dennes närhet. Det har framkommit att närstående inte alltid uttrycker sina behov i situationen. Närståendes involvering är ett faktum, och deras upplevelser varierar. Närståendes upplevelser knyts i resultatdiskussionen an till begreppet om Känsla av sammanhang.   Syfte: Litteraturöversiktens syfte är att beskriva upplevelser av att vara närstående till en palliativ vårdtagare.Metod: En kvalitativ litteraturöversikt, inkluderande elva studier, har genomförts där dessa studier granskats, bearbetats och analyserats utifrån Fribergs femstegsmodell.Resultat: Det framkom att närstående upplevt förändringar i vardagen sedan deras närstående blivit sjuk. De upplevde åsidosättande av egna behov och intressen.

Title: The future is looking bright - Studies of burnout among musicians and music teachers. Since late 1970's, the burn-out-syndrome has been researched in several ways, especially among people working in care-oriented employments. The object with this study is to find out the biggest issues about why musicians and music teachers burn themselves out. This is based on musicians and music teachers own stories when they got burned out. The method I have used is qualitative interviews and in the result chapter I will present summaries of the interviews.
