Purpose/aim: My purpose is to illustrate the significance of the language in communication with immigrants having a different native language, who suffers from dementia. The three main questions have been:How important is the native language in the communication with immigrant who suffers from dementia?What consequences can happen for the immigrant who does not understand Swedish? How can we use the salutogenesis point of view to create satisfactory care for immigrants who has difficulties to make them self understood in the Swedish language? Material/method: I made qualitative interviews with staff working in nursing homes with dementia care. I also searched scientific articles and other findings in this area of science. Main results: The best care for immigrants with dementia is nursing homes where the staff speaks the immigrant?s native language.

This increased use, is specially noticeable in nursing home residents, where the elderly is using a average of 8-10 preparations per day. According to the National Board of Health and Welfare in Sweden, the number of drugs and specially psychotropic drugs, has proved to be a risk factor for drug-related problems among the elderly, such as drug interaction and side effects. Routines for regular and systematic follow-up of drug prescription and utilisation reviews were not extensively implemented.

Introduktion: Alla patienter oavsett ålder och hälsohistoria, riskerar att utveckla trycksår i samband med kirurgiska ingrepp. Vårdskador sker dagligen i vården och patienter som genomgår kirurgi, har hög prevalens för tryckskador. Den vanligast förekommande skadan är trycksår och så många som var 7:e patient drabbas. Syftet med studien var att undersöka operationssjuksköterskans trycksårspreventiva omvårdnadsinterventioner och dess evidens i samband med patientens perioperativa omvårdnad. Metod: En integrerad litteraturstudie valdes och genom databaserna CINAHL, PubMed och Cochrane söktes vetenskapliga studier.

Bakgrund: Bristande kommunikation är en av de vanligaste orsakerna till vårdskador. Bristande kommunikation orsakar lidande för den enskilde patienten och en ökad belastning på vården med exempelvis extra vårddygn. Kommunikation och informationsöverföring är av Socialstyrelsen identifierat som ett riskområde i vården. Flera studier samt nationella och internationella myndigheter rekommenderar standardiserade verktyg vid överrapportering. Den kirurgiska patienten är särskilt utsatt och råkar oftare ut för vårdskador.
