During pre-slaughter handling of pigs the animals are often subjected to methods that induces stress and are a threat to the wellbeing of the animals, such as mixing of groups, loud noise and transportation. A new law will be implemented in 2006 in Sweden that prohibits mechanical noise exceeding 65 dB in abattoirs. The purpose of the research presented in this paper was to examine the effects of noise and transportation on pig behaviour. The activity and aggressiveness of the pigs were examined with behavioural studies during transportation and during three different noise levels: 55, 75 and 95 dB. Before the noise treatments took place the groups were mixed and half of them were transported for approximately 2 hours. In the study 432 pigs were used.

Teknikens utveckling går i en rasande fart och idag kan man köpa en avancerad obemannad luftfarkost i butik. De obemannade luftfarkosterna kallas för multirotorfarkoster, eller i folkmun för drönare. Dessa multirotorfarkoster kan leverera en dödlig last med stor precision av någon utan större tekniskt kunnande. I stadsmiljö vid stora folkansamlingar skulle det idag vara svårt att stoppa en sådan inkommande attack utan att riskera ytterligare skador. Det här arbetet går ut på att belysa problemet och studera tekniken.

The terrorist attack that shocked the world the 11th of September 2001, when two hijacked aircrafts flew into the World Trade Center's twin towers in New York, came to change the world view for many people especially Americans that felt that the world around them where about to collapse. A new time had begun, a more frighten one. A new kind of terrorism where seen in the dawn, a kind that never had been more evil, and there for was passed to be extremely dangerous. The United States followed by the United Kingdom decided quickly to declare war against the terrorism. Unavoidable this decision led to the development of new interpretations of public international law when the US where unwilling to follow the rule of law.

Med utgångspunkt i 3 mönster skapas en fantasivärld som möter barn på bibliotek. Mönstrade ylletyger har tillverkats för att sedan filtas och placeras i rummet. Meningen med mönstren är att skapa en känsla av skog, harmoni och delaktighet i rummet..

Abstrakt Social Engineering är konsten att manipulera människor, för att på så sätt vinna deras förtroende. Med hjälp av detta förtroende kan attackeraren sedan kringgå säkerhetssystem och få tillgång till organisationers information. Vi har i denna uppsats genomfört elva intervjuer på tre stora organisationer med både IT-chefer och övrig personal. Med dessa intervjuer har vi sedan försökt få en bild av hur medvetenheten ser ut samt vilka åtgärder organisationerna tar för att förhindra Social Engineering. Med denna uppsats vill vi belysa den ovisshet som råder kring Social Engineering, men även farorna och hur effektiv en attack av denna typ kan vara.

Through geopolitical theory this thesis explores how conflicts within states can be read and understood according to an analytical model determining one or several possible causes for the conflict.  The model is created by the author and reflects geopolitical theory by giving three possible explanations to an intrastate conflict: culture, economy or territorial construction. The aim of the thesis is testing this model on two selectively chosen case studies ? i.e. two intrastate conflicts ? namely: the upcoming referendum in Scotland and the terror attack at Tiananmen Square in China.

The aim of the study was to find repetitive behavioral patterns pre calving that could be used as indications of calving in beef cattle. In the study sixteen Standing- and lying down sensors were attached to the leg of sixteen beef cows. Ten of the sixteen beef cows gave birth to calves during the trial period. From these ten cows, data from six cows were used to assess the sensors fitness for use as calving indicators. The analytical part of the experiment was divided into two parts, calculation of divergence of mean lying time within different time intervals, and the number of lying bouts.The first part consisted of optimization of an equation used to highlight divergence in mean lying time within eight different time intervals (3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21 and 24 hours).

Discussions about the sustainable city are now all over the world and many believe that the solutions are merely technical. But what gives the city its character is what is happening in the public places. It is these spaces that bring the people together. Design is the key to sustainable urban spaces. We must produce public places that reflect our society.

I have been inspired by the Do It Yourself movement. DIY builds on the creativity of the individual, one?s capacity for initiative and one?s desire to realise one?s ideas. I have been inspired by sheets of pattern paper used in the manufacture of clothing, and my line of furniture is based on two-dimensional patterns of furniture. The sections of the pieces of furniture are printed on and relate to a standard sheet of plywood.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) är ett samlingsnamn för en grupp inflammatoriska tarmsjukdomar och en av de vanligaste orsakerna till kroniska mag-tarmsymtom hos hund. Orsakerna till IBD är inte helt fastställda men tarmslemhinnans immunförsvar, bakterieflora, genetiska faktorer och miljöfaktorer anses vara centrala för tillståndet. En av de mest utbredda uppfattningarna är att sjukdomen uppkommer som ett resultat av bristande immunologisk tolerans som gör att immunförsvaret felaktigt går till attack mot harmlösa antigen. Syftet med den här litteraturstudien var att undersöka vilken roll Pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) har i IBD, hur tarmbarriären påverkar risken för sjukdomen, vilka förändringar av tarmfloran som setts hos IBD-hundar och hur floran påverkar sjukdomsuppkomst. Litteraturen menar att en defekt tarmbarriär är en av de nyckelfaktorer som hör ihop med IBD. Ökad permeabilitet i tarmen kan öka exponeringen, och därmed interaktion, mellan antigen och immunförsvar vilket inducerar inflammation. Oavsett om en defekt tarmbarriär uppkommer som en effekt av sjukdomen eller om det är en direkt orsak till IBD så är det troligen viktigt för att det ska bli kroniskt.

Firewalls protect network traffic and decide witch traffic to send further and witch traffic will be blocked. All this depends on the rules in the firewall. The firewall is installed between the internal network and the Internet. It is difficult to find a firewall that can protect us against different threats. Firewalls have both advantages and disadvantages and all this make them vulnerable.

The emphasize of this study is to evaluate security issues for home users having a personal computer connected to the Internet. It focus on the usage of advantages and disadvantages when using a firewall while connected to the Internet. The hypothesis is that it gives a better protection to install and use a firewall compared not to do so, due to security flaws in the operating system. The prediction was tested on a home user's personal computer. The testwork was divided into two major tests, each of them performed with, respectively without, a firewall. These major tests were divided into five smaller semi­ tests. The first semi­test without a firewall suffered from a virus or worm attack resulting in loss of data and log files.

Syftet med detta examensarbete var att undersöka vilka behov och upplevelser av stöd personer som drabbats av hjärtinfarkt och deras närstående har. En litteraturstudie har genomförts, vilket har inneburit granskning och sammanvägning av resultat från vetenskapliga publikationer. Resultatet visar att personer som drabbats av hjärtinfarkt och deras närstående har stort behov av information, psykosocialt stöd och tillgänglighet av hälso- och sjukvårdspersonal. Det behovs fortfarande forskning kring personer som drabbats av hjärtinfarkt och deras närståendes behov av stöd speciellt ur ett genusperspektiv. Framförallt finns kunskapsbrist om hjärtinfarktens inverkan på relationen då en man förväntas vårda sin hustru.

After the 9/11 attack the United States declared war against terrorism, which launched a conflict between indefinable transnational networks and states. In this war it became clear that the strategies used in traditional wars between states were not sufficient. New strategies have been discussed, but without any concrete results.In this thesis assassinations of terrorist leaders ordered by states is being presented as a possible strategy in the war against terrorism. Assassinations have been used in all times to shift political power but is today not morally accepted. This thesis aims to show that when used under the premisses of the just war theory, the strategy can be equally morally justified as any traditional war.
