This study is based on interviews with heads of unit, care staff and senior representatives from a total of six people. We have in this study directed our focus on care quality in the elderly as a concept in development. It appears, when the elderly do not have any dependents, it is even more important that staff supports some extra where no relatives are involved.Quality of life is the broader concept of good quality care and where a good quality of care is a necessary condition for a good quality of life. According to the social services care is the target that older people will live a good life and be allowed to live in a safe environment, which we intend to investigate in this study. Opportunity for greater influence should now be given to older people and their families on how interventions should be designed and implemented.

Alla människor kan drabbas av hjärtstopp och varje år inträffar ungefär 15 000 hjärtstopp i Sverige. Att drabbas av hjärtstopp är en traumatisk upplevelse som påverkar individen på olika sätt. En ökad kunskap om patienters upplevelser utgör grunden för att ge professionell omvårdnad och kunna bemöta patienten i sin livsvärld. Syftet var att belysa patientens upplevelser efter att ha överlevt hjärtstopp. Studien genomfördes som en litteraturstudie där tio vetenskapliga artiklar utgjorde underlaget för resultatet.

Background: Home health care means that patients receive care in their home. Äldrevårdsenheten in Uppsala County treats people, over 65 years, in the patient's home and because of the fact that the quality of care from the patient´s perspective not have been studied previously, this study as part of the quality control of the business.Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate how patients, and family members, who receive care within the Äldrevårdsenheten in Uppsala County experiencing the care provided in the home.Method: Interview study with qualitative analysis.Results: Patients who are cared for within the Elderly Care Unit in Uppsala County Council has a positive experience of home care. Being cared for in the home creates a sense of security and calm in the patients rather than the stress and fear of long waits in the emergency department and planning advice from medical appointments . In contrast, perceived lack of physicians in home care and accessibility to health care staff.Conclusion: In general, patients in the Elderly Care Unit in Uppsala County Council very pleased with the opportunity to the treatment they received at home. However, there are some weaknesses that need improvement. .

The purpose of the report is to find out which logistic functions the two companies are using to create efficiency.Today?s markets are more global.  Pain is common among women undergoing first trimester surgical abortions. At the postoperative unit, department of gynaecology, University Hospital, Uppsala, the goal is that 80 % of the women should rate pain as £ 3 on a numeric rating scale (NRS), when leaving the unit.The aim of the study was to investigate how rating was performed at the unit and to investigate patient?s perceptions of pain after having undergone first trimester surgical abortion.20 patients (74%) participated in the study. Ninety percent of the patients rated their pain as NRS £ 3 when leaving the unit. Seven patients (35 %) rated their pain as NRS > 3 directly after operation, and 2 (10 %) patients NRS > 3 when leaving the unit.

Shakespeare- Dead or alive in school?The purpose with our degree project is to examine if Shakespeare still is alive in school and in what way he is being used. Our study is based on these following questions:Does Shakespeare exist in school today?How are the other classic books being used?Which teaching methods are used?How is Shakespeare received by the pupils?The methods used to be able to answer the questions are interviews with teachers and focus groups with the pupils. We carried out the interviews with six Swedish teachers and four focus groups in four different upper secondary schools.The main result of this study shows that teachers and pupils still think that Shakespeare is an important author.

The municipal housingcompany Strömstadsbyggen is one of the parties involved in the extensive development that mustbe implemented to meet the changes and developments which the issue holds.One area that is of interest in the discussion is Rådhusberget - this due to the existing infrastructureand unique qualities that the area holds. In order to achieve the best solutions possible for the area,Strömstadsbyggen wishes to listen to what the existing tenants at Rådhusberget thinks and feelsregarding the area and its future potential.This thesis has therefore been carried out in collaboration with Strömstadsbyggen and has beenaimed at identifying the current tenants' thoughts and opinions in the existing area of developmentand infill potential. The aim of this work was also to investigate how the tenants value their homeand local environment in its current state, and what their wishes are for the possible futuredevelopment of Rådhusberget.To achieve analyzable results concerning how the tenants perceive these aspects, an extensivesurvey have been carried out which were sent out to all tenants in the area.

Many of the schools premises are neglected and the physical environment has not been prioritised. Instead the focus is set on scientific learning methods and pedagogic. The need for an environmental shift has not got an essential place in the governing documents for schools, although the focus on school premises should be suited to the purpose of the activity and for the pupils needs. Today the interest and the need of research within the physical environment is evermore increasing. The Swedish Work Environment Authority, present in their activityplan for 2006, that the schools premises and equipment is not adjusting to today?s activity and it is in bad condition that can lead to work-related injuries.The purpose of this essay is to bring to light a different pedagogic train of thought around the surrounding environments importance, for students learning and to compare these with our study of a selection of classrooms and what the teachers to these classrooms consider about the environments importance.

This is an empirical study of how the mathematical talk of adult learners constructs/reconstructs different mathematical discourses. The study is to be regarded as an attempt to develop a discursive approach within the field of mathematics education and to complicate the status of mathematics in education and in society in general. My theoretical underpinnings consist of three possible mathematical discourses ? coercive, regulative and emancipative mathematics. From a discursive psychology perspective, I let these discourses function as analytical interpretive repertoires in relation to the adult learners? rhetorical use of mathematics and their claiming of mathematical subject-positions, named the coerced, the self-regulating and the responsible mathematician.

Arbetet som ambulanssjuksköterska i en pre-hospital vårdmiljö innebär omvårdnad av patienter som är allvarligt skadade eller svårt sjuka. Medvetslösa patienter betraktas som en utmaning, där tillståndet är allvarligt och förknippas med hög mortalitet. Syftet med denna intervjustudie var att beskriva ambulanssjuksköterskornas erfarenheter av att pre-hospitaltvårda patienter vid medvetslöshet. I denna intervjustudie deltog åtta ambulanssjuksköterskor.Data har analyserats med kvalitativ innehållsanalys vilket resulterade i sex kategorier: Att värdera teamarbete och ta ansvar för den medvetslösa patienten, att arbeta med trygghet utifrån behandlingsriktlinjerna, att agera utifrån varje vårdsituation med riskmedvetenhet, att skapa en god relation till patient och närstående, att arbeta under tidspress i en begränsandemiljö och att utvärdera utförd arbetsinsats och vidareutveckla kunskaperna. Resultatet visade att ambulanssjuksköterskorna arbetar i team, omhändertagandet sker individuellt utifrån varjepatient och eventuella åtgärder utgår från behandlingsriktlinjerna.

When an animal in a critical state arrives at the animal hospital, it is important to know the normal parameters in order to assess the patient?s cardiovascular status. Triage is a process where you considerate the patient?s condition instead of check in time, or other criteria.

Patients who undergo surgery receive general anaesthesia or any form of conduction anaesthesia during the operation. For most people it is strange, unexpected and for many something completely new to be a patient and undergo surgery. Awake conduction anaesthetic patients? experiences from the intraoperative period were little studied. The purpose of this study was to examine awake conduction anaesthesia patients? experiences.

För den utsatta patienten kan det första mötet med sjukvården ske på akutmottagningen. Det är av största vikt hur sjuksköterskan bemöter patienten i detta skede. Sjuksköterskan ska hjälpa patienten att känna trygghet och göra sitt bästa för att motverka lidande. I denna litteraturstudie är 14 vetenskapliga artiklar granskade, med syfte att belysa patientens upplevelse av sjuksköterskans bemötande på en akutmottagning. Resultatet visar, delvis, att patienterna är nöjda med bemötandet från sjuksköterskan på akutmottagningen samt att patienten kände sig trygg i detta möte.
