Att vara patient på akutmottagning : En litteraturöversikt

Bakgrund: I Sverige har akutmottagningar i landet ungefär 2,5 miljoner patientbesök per/år. Akutmottagningar brukar vara stressfyllda miljöer med hög patientomsättning, möten är rutinmässiga och utrymmet för individuellt anpassad vård är begränsat. Patienterna blir vid ankomst bedömda och prioriterade utifrån triage, för att försäkra att patienten med de mest brådskande behoven blir omhändertagen först. Efter triagen får de flesta patienterna vänta, ibland i flera timmar.Syfte: Att belysa patientperspektivet av att vara patient på akutmottagningar inom den svenska hälso- och sjukvården.Metod: Litteraturstudie, sökningar av artiklar genomfördes i databaserna Cinahl och Pubmed, vilket resulterande i 9 kvalitativa och 2 kvantitativa artiklar. Analysen inspirerades av kvalitativ innehållsanalys.Resultat: 5 teman identifierades: Att vara patient under triagen, att vara patient under väntetider.

Implementation och design av relationsbaserad databas över patientinformation för cochleaimplantat

Databases are an easy way of storing information kept together and accessible and can save time by finding the information easier. Cochleaimplant could be seen as a form of advanced hearing aid, this product consists of two parts, an external part that recieves sound and sends signals to the internal part through electromagnetism. The internal part is the implant itself and is surgically placed in to the cochlea. Örebro University hospital has just started working within the field of Cochleaimplants and are therefore in need of a database to store patient related information.The database problem was solved using Microsoft Access 2003 combined with the built-in support for Visual Basic, which is a sort of programming language. The result of the thesis work was a fully functioning database according to the given specification and is now being used at Örebro University hospital..

Title: The nurse's dilemma in psychiatric inpatient care - a balancing act between good and evil Objective: To describe the nurse's experience of relieving patient suffering caused by coercive measures on a closed psychiatric ward . Frame of reference : The results are discussed in light of Eriksson´s theory of suffering and caring relationships Method: A qualitative analysis based on focus group discussions Results: The analysis resulted in six categories, to protect the patient , to involve the patient , not to lose control , to remain , to justify compulsion , and to be touched . The results showed that nurses had the experience of being able to relieve the suffering of patients caused by coercive measures. It was also found that the nurses had a tendency to justify coercive measures , the more experience they had of performing these . Conclusion: The results describe that nurses have the experience and knowledge of how to relieve patients' suffering caused by coercion but also their experiences of performing these .

Patienters upplevelser av att vara vaken under operation när pacemaker anläggs

Det är en unik upplevelse att bli opererad med lokalanestesi och vara vaken under ett operativt ingrepp. Patienten överlämnas till vårdpersonalen och är beroende av deras omhändertagande och kunskap. Kontinuerlig information under ingreppet samt ett gott bemötande från personalen kring patienten är avstor vikt för att skapa en trygg miljö och ge god omvårdnad. Syftet med studien var att beskriva patienters upplevelse och känslor av den perioperativa omvårdnaden när de var vakna under ett operativt ingrepp. Fyra intervjuer med konsekutivt utvalda patienter som genomgått operationen på sjukhus i sydvästra Sverige inkluderades i studien.

Background: Palliative care is a type of care, which does not cure but eases the suffering caused by the disease. The goal of palliative care is not to extend or shorten the patient's life, but to relieve pain and distressing symptoms and to promote the patients? quality of life (QOL). Bristande språkkunskaper och kulturella skillnader i mötet mellan patient och vårdpersonal

I takt med att vårt samhälle blir allt mer mångkulturellt så möter vi allt större andel människor med olika kulturell bakgrund och med bristande språkkunskaper. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att belysa de kommunikationsproblem som bristande språkkunskaper och kulturella skillnader medför i mötet mellan patient och vårdpersonal. Metoden bestod av databassökningar i PubMed och Cinahl, 10 artiklar valdes och granskades. Ur dessa artiklar framkom litteraturstudiens resultat som belyser aspekter såsom tolkproblematiken, användningen av tvåspråkig vårdpersonal och anhöriga som tolk, vårdrelationen och utbildningsbehovet hos vårdpersonalen. Författarna fann att det råder en begränsad tolktillgänglighet och en osäkerhet kring tolkningens tillförlitlighet.

Sjuksköterskors upplevelse av stress i arbetsmiljön

Studies have shown that stress is common in the nursing profession.Purpose: The aim was to investigate nurses' experience of stress in the work environment at the University Hospital in Uppsala and how nurses deal with this stress and whether the perceived stress experienced affect patient safety and in what way. Method: The study had a descriptive, qualitative design based on nine interviews. The selection criteria for the study was that participants were nurses and that they had worked at least one year within the profession and that they had experienced stress in their work environment. Data from the interviews was analyzed using the qualitative content analysis method by Graneheim and Lundman. Results: The analysis resulted in three categories: "Stress in the workplace?, "stress management" and "patient safety? and showed that all participants had experienced stress repeatedly in their workplaces.
