Background: Throughout life, sexuality is a central aspect of being human and to experience a full and healthy. Several diseases and treatments can cause problems related to sexuality and sexual health. Despite this, research has shown that nurses, for various reasons choose not to take up the subject with their patients. Aim: The aim of this literature-based study was to illuminate nurses' experiences of talking with patients about sexuality and sexual health. Method: A literature-based study where both qualitative and quantitative studies, have been used.
Att vara partner till en patient med akut hjärtinfarkt
Acute myocardial infarction is a serious diagnosis. Both the patient and the loved ones experience an immediate uncertainty. To be able to emotionally support the patient´s spouse, the nurse in the coronary care unit must be prepared to also encounter the world of the spouse. The aim of this study was from a nursing perspective to illuminate how life was experienced during the first two months by the spouse of someone, who was stricken by a first time acute myocardial infarction. Interviews with six spouses were conducted.
Att leva med fibromyalgi : -en litteraturstudie
Fibromyalgi är ett kroniskt tillstånd av diffus smärta och trötthet. Syftet var att undersöka hur individer upplever att leva med fibromyalgi. Den forskningsmetod som användes var en litteraturstudie och Polit och Beck nio-stegsmodell användes. De sökord som användes var fibromyalgia, life experience och Patient experience. Databaserna som tillämpades var CINAHL och PubMed samt manuella sökningar.
Faktorer som påverkar patientens situation vid koloskopiundersökning - en litteraturstudie
Bakgrund: Koloskopi utförs i diagnostiskt syfte, vid uppföljningar av olika tarmsjukdomar och i behandlande syfte. I och med ökad livslängd, fler cancerfall och utökad screeningsverksamhet kommer antalet koloskopiundersökningar att öka.Syfte: Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att belysa faktorer som påverkar patientens situation vid koloskopiundersökning.Metod: I denna litteraturstudie har nio kvantitativa och en två-fas studie granskats och analyserats. Sökningarna av artiklarna genomfördes i databaserna CINAHL och PubMed. Även manuell sökning genomfördes.Resultat: Analysen resulterade i tre kategorier och fyra underliggande subkategorier. Fysiska och psykiska faktorer; Smärta och obehag, Oro.
Blodtransfusion - sjuksköterskans och patientens erfarenheter : En livsviktig uppgift
Sammanfattning Bakgrund:Sedan början på förra århundrandet är blodtransfusioner en av de främsta livräddande medicinska behandlingarna. Sjuksköterskan är ansvarig under hela arbetsprocessen vid administrering av blodprodukter. Sjuksköterskans arbete utgör en livsviktig uppgift som innefattar patientsäkerhet genom att sjuksköterskan övervakar patienten för att tidigt kunna upptäcka symtom och därmed förhindra att allvarliga och livshotande komplikationer uppstår.Syfte:Syftet var att belysa blodtransfusioner utifrån sjuksköterskans och patientens erfarenheter.Metod:Metoden som användes var en litteraturbaserad studie enligt Friberg. Datainsamlingen utfördes i databaserna Cinahl with full text och Pubmed with full text med sökorden nursing, nursing care, blood transfusion, transfusion, patient care och Patient experience. Resultatet baserades på sex vetenskapliga publikationer med både kvalitativ och kvantitativ design.
Munvård av intuberade intensivvårdspatienter : fokusgruppsintervju
Inom intensivvård bedrivs omvårdnad i en högteknologisk miljö. Flera av patienterna är i behov av andningshjälp i form av ventilatorbehandling vilket medför att patienten är sederad och har en endotrachealtub i trachea. Patienten kan inte själv utföra sin munvård och blir därför beroende av intensivvårdsjuksköterskans hjälp. Syftet med studien var att belysa intensivvårdssjuksköterskans erfarenhet av munvård av intuberade intensivvårdspatienter. Studien utfördes med en fokusgruppsintervju och analyserades med en kvalitativ innehållsanalys.

Background: Health care is a strange place for the patient. To make this enviroment as good as possible, would the patient be well informed. The patient has right to know if it is a bad mews and often he/she needs caring after the information. Nurse´s basic responsibility is caring, for her/him it´s important to prevent the shock for the patient that can appear. Aim: Describe the nursing staff responses to the patient, using the patient´s perspective in relation to bad news. Method: A litterture review has been made with nine articles. Current research materials that meet the study´s purpose has been applied in databases and analyzed.

Background: Effective treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes needs a good communication between nurse and patient. This creats a good relation and leads to a more effective patient education. Aim: The aim with the literature study was to describe how nurses trough patient education can achieve self-care for patients with diabetes type 2. Methods: Literature studies with both qualitative and quantitative articles were examined. Findings: The articles that were chosen for the results were sorted in the two categories relation and communication.
Narkossjuksköterskors upplevelse och erfarenhet av kommunikation mellan vårdpersonal i en akut situation : en intervjustudie
Background: Good communication is very important for the safety of patients in emergency situations. Few studies have been conducted regarding communication among health care staff. The aim of the present study was to investigate anesthetist nurses experience of communication among health care staff during a situation of emergency in a hospital ward.Methods: The study is explorative and based on interviews with six anesthetist nurses. A qualitative content analysis was used as an analyses model.Result: The six anesthetist nurses experienced structured communication as of great importance during an emergency situation. Three main categories appeared from the material: i) the importance of the organization ii) communication structure and communication patterns and iii) education and experience with nine subcategories.

The aim of this undergraduate thesis was to explore how the welfare officers at palliative units in Stockholm respond to the patients? thoughts and experiences during the last phase of life, as well as exploring their picture of the patients experiences. The research questions of the study were:? How do the welfare officers relate to the patients? experience of their death? ? In what way do the welfare officers respond to the dying patient and his or her experiences?? What knowledge/experience do the welfare officers have and what knowledge/experience do they consider is needed in their profession?To answer the research questions a qualitative method was used where five welfare officers in three different palliative units were interviewed. The empirical material was analysed through meaning concentration and are presented using exact quotations.

Ronden på en kirurgisk akutvårdsavdelning är en central del i vårdprocessen för patient och personal. Ronden sker dagligen och mötet mellan patient, läkare, sjuksköterska och undersköterska sker på kort tid och det sker snabba beslut. Syftet var att undersöka patientens upplevelse av ronden på en kirurgisk akut vårdsavdelning. Med utgångspunkt från detta så valdes det en kvalitativ metod med fenomenologisk ansats och intervjuer som datainsamlings metod. Efter analys av totalt 11 patienters upplevelser av ronden kom det fram tre kategorier med tillhörande underkategorier i resultatet.
Patienters upplevelser av sjuksköterskans bemötande på akutmottagningen : En litteraturstudie
Background:Studies show that when nurses are experiencing problems in the care of non-Swedish speaking patients, it is often due to obstacles in the communication. Studies also show that a prerequisite for adequate care is that there is a basis for a direct communication. Nurses perceive interpreters as an important link to the patient when they do not share a mutual language, the nurses perceive interpreters as a bridge in the conversation.Aim:The purpose of the study is to describe nurses' experiences of the quality of assessments done with the help of an interpreter.Method:The study was conducted through interviews with ten nurses, working at psychiatric clinics. Qualitative content analysis was used for the analysis, which resulted in five categories.Results:The analysis resulted in one theme: "it´s the interpreter who tells me and have not the feeling that the patient has" and five categories: "shades of the language", "conversation structure", "the interpreter's competence", "interpreting implementing" and "the interpreter's gender and origin". The nurses experience working with interpreters as a challenge.
