In order to understand user behaviour and navigation patterns, user logging is today widely used in analysis and development of user interfaces. These user logs tend to be quite many and can contain a lot of different data. A big issue is how to process and display this data in a perspicuous way to the stakeholder. This study is about how to develop a prototype to handle this issue. It was solved by various methods from human-computer interaction.

Att aktivera deltagande : Design av ett crossmediakoncept

In this thesis we present the procedures and outcomes of adopting two roles in a study: the role of a researcher and the role of a designer. The subject is crossmedia design. Crossmedia is a growing and changing trend for media producers of today its design is of great importance. The purpose is to create a concept from scratch that stands out from the crowd and engage people with the use of cross media as the approach. We also aim to investigate if a cross media designer can rely on previous research made within this subject or if the scene has changed.In order to test and to fully understand the process of the subject, we designed a crossmedia concept, based upon previous and related research.

Hur kan vi på bästa sätt klara av vår nya vardag tillsammans? : Ett underlag för utvärdering av ett projekt som syftar till att stödja relationen mellan personer med demens och deras närstående

Bakgrund: Demens är ett sjukdomstillstånd som innebär en bestående nedsättning av kognitiva funktioner. Därför behöver personer med demenssjukdom och närstående stöd för att klara vardagen bättre. Syfte: Syftet var att tillsammans med en personalgrupp vid en dagsjukvårdsenhet utarbeta ett underlag för en kommande utvärdering av ett projekt vars syfte var att ge stöd i relationen mellan personer med demenssjukdom och deras närstående. Metod: Studien genomfördes med deltagarbaserad aktionsforskning med en fokusgruppsintervju och en enskild intervju. Deltagarna var en personalgrupp på en dagsjukvårdsenhet. Resultat: Dagsjukvårdsenheten önskade stödja relationen mellan personer med demenssjukdom och deras närstående. Stödet planeras genomföras vid fem tillfällen under fem veckor. Dessa fem tillfällen har olika teman som handlar om hur paren kan hantera vardagen på ett annat sätt.

Jordbro - världens finaste stad : en undersökning om involverande, design och involverande design med barn som deltagare

Detta är en undersökning kring sätt att arbeta involverande med barn. Inom en del av designfältet håller ett nytt förhållningssätt på att växa fram. Det är en designpraktik som utgår från brukarens position och som involverar brukaren som en fullvärdig deltagare i designprocessen redan från början. Området tillhör en engelskspråkig diskurs och benämns än så länge med sitt engelska namn:participatory design.Undersökningen utgår från frågeställningenHur kan man, med utgångspunkt i teorier om participatory design, forma arbetssätt för att involvera barn i designprojekt som rör deras närmiljö? Och vidare, genom den frågeställningen kommer undersökningen även att närma sig frågan: Hur beskriver barnen på Jordbro parklek sin närmiljö ur ett designperspektiv?Informanterna i undersökningen är barn som alla är bosatta i Jordbro som är en förort till Stockholm.

Journalistik 2.0 : Om journalistens upplevelse av medborgarnas inverkan på tidningarnas innehåll

Title: Journalism 2.0: About the journalist's perspective on citizen participation and its influenceon the news content.Purpose: The aim with this study was to examine whether, and if so how, professional journalists experience that the production of news has changed as the media development has progressed and the citizens opportunities for active participation in this process has potentially expanded.Research questions:Does professional journalists experience that the opportunities for citizen participation in the news making-process has changed with the spread and accessibility of new media- if so, in what ways?Wheatear professional journalists experience that the relationship between themselves and their news sources has changes with the spread and accessibility of new media?What consequences can an empowerment from citizens have on the production of news and on the professional role of the journalist?Theory: This essay is based on theories about convergence, gatekeeping, agenda building, participatory journalism, news sources and the journalistic profession.Method: The survey is based on ten qualitative interviews with ten professional journalists, eight reporters and two web editors from the newspapers NWT and VF.Results: The results of this survey shows that the citizens? opportunities in influencing the production of news has partly changed. The journalists do not experience that citizen participation affects their professional role. Citizens have always had an impact on the production of news but new technology offers citizens and journalists new channels that facilitate the communication and interaction. The gatekeeping process is protecting the decision-making role of the journalist, which restrains citizen participation.

The purpose of this study was to highlight cyber-bullying and its place in today?s schools. Our aim was to research how schools with bullying prevention programs are equipped to handle and take action against cyber-bullying. Furthermore this study focuses on whether or not schools are responsible for cases of cyber-bullying. We also aimed to present teachers? general views and knowledge regarding this phenomenon.

Att designa ett multiplattformsystem : Interaktionsdesign möter agila projektmetoder.

This thesis examines the multiplatform design issues of a development project using agile project methods and how they were resolved. Data was gathered through observation, photography and keeping of a journal using action research as a methodological framework. Ett märkligt adjektiv på en medborgare : En intervjustudie av det praktiska medborgarskapet som identitet och ideal

The aim of this essay is to explore the lived citizenship and its ideal. First, the form and expression of citizenship practice and ideal is explored through a qualitative interwiev study of ten citizens in the southern suburbs of Stockholm. The perception and expectations of the nature of citizenship, presented by the informants, is then compared to their citizen ideal, as well as to the ideal presented and promoted by the Swedish government. The point of departure is theory of democracy. The essay calls attention to an observed lack of empirical studies in the field of deliberative theory of democracy as well as studies that more broadly bring the theory down to empirical earth.

The aim of our study was to examine Swedish crime reporters? approach to the social medium Flashback. Our main focus was the crime reporters? use of the medium Flashback, and attitude towards their own use of media ethics in relation to the medium Flashback.Flashback as a medium is not obliged to any media ethics and lacks a legally accountable publisher. In the search for information about committed crimes people tends to visit Flashback for the information that the traditional media cannot offer.

Trafficking i Norden : en komparativ studie av de nordiska ländernas handlingsplaner mot människohandel för sexuella ändamål

This essay focuses on how trafficking in human beings for sexual exploitation is defined and dealt with in the Nordic countries. Agreements on how trafficking for sexual exploitations should be dealt with is presented in reports and Action plans from the European Union and United nations amongst others. In this essay we will compare four national Action plans made by governments by Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway between 2005- 2011 to each other. Mainly we have been looking at similarities and differences in the different Action plans. The essay is based on Discourse theory and discursive struggle and we have been looking at similarities and differences in how trafficking is dealt with through language.

Med Säkerhetsrådets resolution 1325 (2000) som utgångspunkt : En komparativ studie av två handlingsplaner

Security Council resolution 1325 (2000) is about women, peace and security. Since the resolution was adopted several countries has made their own National Action Plan for implementation of the resolution.Sweden and Denmark are two of these countries. Resolution 1325 is one of the documents that each countries armed force has to relate to in international work.These countries can get to work together in international operations within the framework of the Nordic Defense Cooperation, NORDEFCO. This study is done by looking at similarities and differences in the action plans and whether they can be an obstacle for the countries to cooperate in an international operation.In this paper a comparative analysis of Sweden and Denmark's plans for the Security Council resolution 1325 will be done. The comparison is made based on the clauses of the resolution relating to the member states actions.In this paper, a qualitative text analysis to be carried out with sections of Resolution 1325 as a model for the comparison..

Gamers and Game Design: Incorporating Users in the Design Process

This paper deals with the difficulties of applying user-centered design practices as an independent developer, based on the visualization of a game concept in the form of a prototype. The aim is to evaluate the usability of user-centered design practices, specifically in the field of games development. Throughout this paper, I will give an account of the methods used for testing, as well as a review of previous research done in this field of study. Strategic forest planning using AHP and TOPSIS in participatory environments : a case study conducted in Vilhelmina, Sweden

When a decision is to be made on what long term strategic forest management plan to use, consideration must often be taken to multiple objectives. Such decisions are very complex and a promising approach to handle them is by Multiple Criteria Decision Analyses (MCDA). The study is based on the problem that the MCDA that have been implemented into forest management planning have only had capacity to compare and evaluate a limited number of management plans; which means that there is a risk the most suitable plan is missed. The aim with this study was to test the applicability of combining the MCDA tools: the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for including consideration to multi-objectives into strategic forest management planning. The study was based on the process of creating and selecting a management plan, using Heureka PlanWise, suitable for all the major objectives found in the forest holdings of a municipality in northern Sweden.
