This essay deals with a picture-stone that was found in a pre Christian grave during the archaeological excavations of the Viking Age harbour and trading place at Fröjel parish, Gotland, in 1999. The stone is at least 100 years older then the male grave in which it was found. The picture-stone can be dated to  late 8th century or early 9th century, and the grave is probably from the late 10th century. One of the main questions in this essay is why the people of that time re-used an older picture-stone in a younger burial. I believe that the stone was reused as a grave-gift.

A current debate is going on in Sweden about the health-care organization, how it is structured today and how it should be structured in the future. Despite major changes in the county council structures, they still got problems with for instance economy and the providing of staff. As an answer to these problems new solutions are being developed.In this thesis I examine such a solution consisting of cooperation between county councils. The aim of the thesis is to examine how and why the county councils in Sörmland and Västmanland have made a decision regarding cooperation over the administrative border.My contribution is to construct a model over change and decision processes that can be used in other cases as well. The conclusion is partly that the decision to cooperate is built on changing structural factors, such as economy, demography and medical development.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva hur kommunikation och ledarskap formas i ett internationellt projekt.För att beskriva hur kommunikation och ledarskap formas i ett internationellt projekt har vi använt en kvalitativ undersökningsmetod. Vi har även använt oss den hermeneutiska tolkningen för att kunna belysa och jämföra våra respondenters syn på kommunikation och ledarskap. Vår studie har visat att nationell kultur har en stor påverkan på både kommunikation och ledarskap i ett internationellt projekt som kännetecknas av komplexitet och risker för missförståelse. Detta beror på att de personliga värderingarna skiljer sig åt mellan olika nationella kulturer. Språkbarriär, olika arbetssätt och arbetsmetoder, i det flesta fall är det kulturella skillnader som medför svårigheter i under projektets gång.

Since events of September 11 and the subsequent conflicts surrounding the event, the war against terrorism has been constantly present. It has been used several methods and strategies to address these threats, including a method current in use, the targeting method. The method refers to use few but precise attacks to knock out key functions within these organizations, mostly individuals in the higher command and control structures within these organizations. The effectiveness of the method has been put in question when the majority of the terrorist organizations continue their strife, in some cases even increasing its intensity. The purpose of this study is to investigate which role the higher command plays in these organizations ability to wage war.

In October 2006 the media began investigating the four ministers Billström, Borg, Borelius and Stegö Chilò who were all being accused of miner tax fraud. The two women, Stegö Chilò and Borelius became the primary victims of an extensive media hunt where the media already had made their minds up; the women had to go. The more the women tried to explain themselves, they only seemed to be digging themselves into a deeper hole and ten days into the ?hunt?, the media got their way, the women resigned while the men, even today remain on their positions. What was it then that made the outcome so different regarding the four ministers when the only thing to really set them apart was their genders?With support of theories from Giddens, Habermas and Thompson as well as theories regarding media, gender and the medias ethical responsibility we have in a qualitatively narrative analysis studied 20 articles from Dagens Nyheter and Expressen.

The writing style of a particular author can be divided into many subfeatures, for example use of words, language and syntax. Focusing on the latter, this study aims to show how well syntactic information alone can attribute the correct author to a document. Syntactic information is defined as overlapping syntactic subtrees of height one (1) for all sentences of all included documents. The performance is compared to that of the previously very successful method of comparing stop word frequencies. These are words normally excluded from search engine queries, because they are present in all sorts of texts regardless of topic.

The aim of this thesis is to map the intellectual base, and identify the general research interests, of Cultural Policy studies. In addition to this the thesis also aims to trace the uses of theoretical and conceptual approaches within the identified research interests. This is done by analysing citations from 130 articles published in the leading scientific journal International Journal of Cultural Policy between the years 2002-2007 using the bibliometric method author cocitation analysis (ACA). The results of the ACA confirm the overall notion that the research field of cultural policy studies is an ambiguous one, even when it?s studied with a quantitative method specialised in uncovering hidden structures within a given field as ACA.

Reading difficulties is the most common learning difficulty in the western world and it is common that people with reading disabilities also exhibit arithmetic difficulties. Different theories about the cause of the relationship exists, one theory describes the importance of good phonological ability in reading as well as in arithmetic, while another theory describes the importance of a reliable number system and that only a subgroup of students with reading disabilities also have difficulties with arithmetic. The purpose of this study is to investigate how students with reading difficulties (RD), without any known mathematical difficulties, perform on mathematical tasks relative to a control group. The study was theoretically grounded on the Triple code model (Dehaene, 1992), which is a model for numerical information processing that describes how various numerical and arithmetic tasks are processed through three distinct representation systems in the brain, a verbal and a visual representation system and a quantity system. Reading skills, phonological skills, arithmetic skills and number processing skills were examined in 61 students through a variety of tests.

Bakgrund Anestesisjukvården i Sverige upprätthåller en hög grad av patientsäkerhet. Trots detta innebär all komplex verksamhet risker. Nuvarande lagstiftning och ett förändrat synsätt mot ett systeminriktat, förebyggande patientsäkerhetsarbete stöder behovet av att undersöka förekomsten av latenta, okända risker.Syfte Syftet är att beskriva anestesisjuksköterskors erfarenheter av latenta patientsäkerhetsrisker i samband med anestesisjukvårdMetod Datainsamling skedde genom semistrukturerade intervjuer inspirerade av Critical incident method med tretton anestesisjuksköterskor på tre sjukhus i Sverige. Insamlad data bearbetades med innehållsanalys.Resultat Studien påvisade att latenta riskfaktorer förekommer inom anestesisjukvård och att intervjuer med anestesisjuksköterskor ger en möjlighet till att tydliggöra dessa faktorer. Huvudområdena för de latenta risker som framkom är - organisation, kommunikation, datorsystem/ dokumentation och medicinsk teknisk utrustning.

Syftet med denna studie har varit att beskriva hur kvinnor med arbetsrelaterat handeksem upplever sin livskvalitet. Studien har en deskriptiv design med induktiv ansats och kvalitativ forskningsintervju som metod. Intervjuerna har genomförts med ett strategiskt urval och tematiserade frågor. Analysen utfördes med innehållsanalys enligt Graneheim & Lundman, (2004), på manifest och latent nivå och utmynnade i ett övergripande tema med fem underliggande kategorier. Temat är, Handeksem upplevdes som en begränsning och länkar samman det latenta innehållet i de fem kategorierna.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka vilka preferenser de födda mellan 1946 och 1965 ha när de köper produkter från apoteket. Detta relaterades till kundernas lojalitet gentemot ett visst apotek. Den nya avreglerade apoteksmarknaden gör dessa frågor än mer aktuella än tidigare. Som teoretisk utgångspunkt har en behovsidentifikationstrappa, utarbetad av Dahlén och Lange använts. Denna trappa delar in kundens köpprocess i fem olika faser som sträcker sig från behovsidentifikation till utvärdering av köpet.

För en djupare förståelse av bestämningsfaktorerna modelleras i denna uppsats vårduppsökande med en ansats inspirerad av Grossmans artikel "On the concept of health capital and the for health" från 1972. Benägenheten att söka vård anses vara härledd från efterfrågad nivå av hälsokapital, vilket bestäms av produktivitet i hälsoproduktionen och skuggpriset av kapitalet. Förutom Grossmans huvudvariabler ?ålder, utbildning och inkomst? innefattar modellen också både alternativa investeringar och humankapital samthälsonedsättande konsumtion och demografiska variabler. Med data från Region Skåne analyseras detta genom en ekonometrisk modell uppbyggd i tre steg.

The aim of this thesis is to examine the theoretical developments on social entrepreneurship. Our purpose is to create a better understanding of the phenomenon leading to new insights. We have categorized the knowledge of the concept into social economy, social ownership, social innovation and social missions. Drawing from our theoretical review we have chosen four empirical illustrations, Grameen Bank, Wikipedia, Basta Arbetskooperativ, Jörn Hälsogemenskap, and we have shown how these fit into the general description of the social entrepreneur. With help of our illustrations we show that it is complicated to pin point the core of social entrepreneurship as they each have separate structures, innovations, social missions and operate close to different sectors.

The aim of this study is to understand which strategies helped women escape honourbased violence, by reading the autobiographies of seven women. Honourbased violence is a relatively new problem in Sweden, but it has existed for a long time. According to FN (2012) 5000 women are murdered every year in the name of honour. Honourbased violence is about maintaining the honour of the family. Womens sexuality is connected to men´s honour, and because of that they are not allowed to express it.

The aim of this study was; from a group of boys and girls description and interpretation of interaction with other young people, personnel and the environment of the youth centre illuminate how the social gender are constructed and maintained at the youth centre. In this study we have tried to analyse the phenomena from an intersectionalistic perspective. Except gender, the analytic category social class have been tried to capture. Our theoretical standing point is social constructivism. Institutionalized structures in our society are constructed by humans, gender is not only a biological construction it is also a man created construction.
