The purpose of this study is to explore the factors affecting an individual's working life mobility and how this mobility is perceived by the individual. The study has a qualitative approach and the theoretical part is based on Castells', Giddens' and Bauman's theories of modern society and employment in relation to the individual. The study concludes that external circumstances in combination with internal driving forces are the reasons behind changing careers. The process is predominantly perceived as positive, especially education tends to strengthen self-identity. Nina Hammarberg: Ambitioner hos körsångare och körledare. En undersökning kring målsättningar, önskemål om medbestämmande och sångteknisk medvetenhet i tre körer. Uppsala, Musikvetenskap 1997. C-uppsats (60 p).Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka för det första körmedlemmars och körledares målsättningar med körarbete, för det andra inställningar till medbestämmande, för det tredje medvetenhet om sångteknik. Materialet består av besvarade enkäter från tre kyrkokörer i Uppsala.

En stor del av varje individs klimatavtryck består av den mat vi konsumerar. Eftersom det serveras en stor mängd portioner varje dag runt om i landets skolor anser vi det intressant att studera hur pass klimatanpassad skolmaten är idag. Hur ser skolornas miljöarbete ut och finns det förbättrande åtgärder som kan genomföras på området? Vi har valt att fokusera vårt arbete på den serverade mängden kött och fisk på tre grundskolor, en kommunal och två privata, i Uppsala kommun liksom ursprunget hos dessa animalier. Intervjuer utfördes med ansvariga för upphandling och kostplanering på kommunen, skolkökspersonal samt elever.

This study aims to delineate the discourse of the canonical issue of the defectus natalium, the defect of birth, ascribed to medieval Catholic clergy of illegitimate birth, which prevented ordination to the Holy Orders or advancement to higher monastic offices. Using papal dispensations directed to Swedish clerics, monks and nuns during the period 1255-1372, the essay attempts to outline the official attitude of the papal authority towards illegitimate birth among its servants and how such a defect could be compensated by the individual. The study argues that various circumstances and personal qualities could be addressed to support the case of the supplicant. The main themes include an observance of clerical celibacy, scholarly learning, pilgrimage permeated by hardship, intervention of a third party, loyalty to the Church and overall practical circumstances that demanded a dispensation for the benefit of the ecclesiastical institutions. Drawing some inspiration from Michel Foucault?s conception of discourse, the essay argues that a polarizing discourse had by the 13th century been formed within the Catholic Church, which focused on a dichotomy of the legitimate and illegitimate cleric.

Along with the rapid expansion of wind power in Sweden during the last decades the competition about favorable areas has hardened. This among other reasons has caused the projectors to look into development of wind power in forests. There are several aspects regarding fatigue loads on the constructions that are severe in complex terrain, among which turbulence is one. The levels of turbulence which are accepted in order for the turbines to face a life length exceeding 20 years are regulated by the International Electrotechnical Commission, (IEC). In order to keep the turbulence below these levels there are three major steering tools to use: The ambient turbulence decreases with height and can therefore be regulated by the hub height of the turbines.

 This thesis aims to through certain parts of the brand equity investigate the trust of consumers for a brand that recently experienced a product-harm crisis. It also wants to investigate why this trust exist, if it does. Structured interviews were carried out at 60 respondents in Uppsala. The results show that the respondents have positive associations with ICA, they think that ICA maintains a high quality on their products and services and that 50% more often choose to do their grocery shopping at ICA. The conclusion of the study is that ICA has a strong brand equity resulting in brand trust from consumers, which is founded in the brand reliability and brand intentions of the company. .

Animal welfare during transport has for a long time been a problem around the world. Many animals are transported in stressful environments for slaughter. Even during Roman and Antiquity times wild animals were transported from Africa to the amusement parks in Rome. The aim of our work was to compare how well Sweden and Denmark are performing their inspections of transports of cattle and pigs for slaughter. Today, overloaded transports and poor treatment is not uncommon in Europe and every year 22 million animals are transported between countries.

This thesis is a case study of the search function on the University of Uppsala?s web site. The search function in this study was chosen since it exists on a large and complex web site and there were apparent lacks in the old version of the search function. The thesis highlights some of the problems that can appear in the development of a search function on a local site. One interesting find is that one of the most difficult issues is organizational and not technical.

Nathan Söderblom, Swedish archbishop 1914 - 1931, understands his role as bishop from an integrated theological conception that episcopacy is a gift to the church and the apostolic succession a heritage of utmost value. Episcopacy is an important tool to make the churches come together. in his work for peace during the Great War it was through his position without any power that he could approach the politicians. His calling was not only for Sweden; he had a responsibility for the whole world. This study aims to evaluate the value relevance of Piotroski?s (2000) nine fundamental signals. In order to do this, the signals are tested on the OMX Nordic Exchange Stockholm between the years 2003 and 2009. The hypotheses of the study are whether the signals are value relevant and if the value relevance has changed. To test this, a Chi-square test and a regression are used.

Min utgång i denna uppsats är att undersöka hur politiker i kommunfullmäktige i Uppsala som röstat för en lågprisflygplats på Ärna i maj 2009, vilket går emot kommunens klimatmål och kommunens eget styrdokument, rättfärdigar sitt agerande. För att komma så nära deras egna röster som möjligt har jag både använt mig av deras egna insändare i den dominerande lokala nyhetstidningen, Uppsala Nya Tidning (UNT)och transkriberat radiointervjuer med dem, som gjorts av Sveriges Radio Uppland, under det aktuella året 2009. Mitt syfte i uppsatsen är att blottlägga hur politikerna konstruerar sina kritiker, som i sin tur leder till skapandet av en specifik position för politikerna själv. Med hjälp av Simone de Beauvoirs teorier om det manliga och universella subjektet och med en diskursanalytisk metod kunde jag kartlägga hur vissa återkommande teman användes för att situera kritiker av politikernas beslut som ?de andra?.

They can probably take in some, but I think there are more effective ways of planning for the blind and sight disabled allowing them to explore using their tactile senses. Detta examensarbete har fokuserat på vilka normer som finns i åtta likabehandlingsplaner från gymnasieskolor i Uppsala kommun. De normer som finns i styrdokumenten är en del i hur likabehandlingsarbetet sedan byggs upp och ger en grund för att bryta eller återskapa normer i verksamheterna. Utifrån Kumashiros fyra olika kategorier har delar av skolornas likabehandlingsarbete kunnat synliggöras som antingen normkritiskt eller toleranspedagogiskt. Det här är en studie av mikro- och småföretag inom Uppsala län som syftar att bidra till bättre kunskap och ökad förståelse för hur dessa bolag hanterar sin löpande bokföring. Den kvantitativa enkätundersökning som ligger till grund för studien omfattar 163 bolag. De ombads svara på frågor angående hur de hanterar sin löpande bokföring, om de använder bokföringssystem samt vilken av parametrarna kotroll, kostnad och kunskap som var viktigast i beslutet om hanteringen av den löpande bokföringen. Samtliga bolag hade mellan 0-49 anställda och delades in i tre kategorier A, B och C, beroende på antalet anställda. Detta för att kunna se skillnader och göra jämförelser mellan bolag i olika storlek.
