Vårdtagarens perspektiv på sjuksköterskans bemötande

Every day in medical care the nurse and the patient meet, they are not just represented as the care giver and the care taker, but also as two unique individuals. The meeting is a very important part in caring and few studies have been made on this topic from the patient.s perspective. The purpose of this study was to describe the patient.s perspective on the meeting with the nurse. The study is a literature review, where articles have been reviewed, encoded, and then categorized. The result builds on our four main categories, confirmed as a unique indidual, the meaning of the information according to the patient, the humanistic side of the nurse, and the importance of humor in the meeting.

Aim: Compare occurrences of first-time-events reported by mothers and fathers with children at high tech NICU according to kangaroo-mother-care method in two university hospitals. Method: Descriptive, quantitative design. Fourty-five couples of parents, with premature children born and cared for at university hospitals in Uppsala or Örebro, answered questionnaires about first-time-events: interaction-events, measures-of-care-events and sleeping-place-events. Results: All differences regarding the children?s age at first-time-events showed Uppsala-children to be younger than Örebro-children. Interaction-events were reported first in children?s lives, measures-of-care-events and sleeping-place-events later.

Hur patienter med hiv upplever bemötandet från vårdpersonal

Background: During the 1980s, the fear of HIV spread over the world. Health professionals'attitudes to patients with HIV, was negatively impacted because of their fear to be infected.Patients with HIV have therefore,during disease history's first two decades, experienced stigma and discrimination in the response from health professionals. Because of the increasing knowledge of HIV it is of interest to study patients' contemporary experiences of the encounter with health professionals. Aim:To explore how patients with HIV experiencing the meeting with health professionals. Method:Literature study with seven qualitative and three quantitative articles.

Åt var och en efter behov? Kriminalitet som markör för olika behandlingsalternativ

The aim of this study was to, using previously collected data from self-declared antisocial behaviour questionnaires, examine if the crime frequency has been different between adolescents that have either been referred to two different forms of open care in social service, child and youth psychiatric inpatient care or have been sent to Homes for Specialised Supervision. The criminality frequency and the most common crimes committed were compared between the study groups and further between genders in each particular study group. Statistical significance testing was used and the results of the survey revealed that juvenile delinquents that had committed severe criminal acts were represented in all four groups. The study group with adolescents in national care was the most different from other groups. These youths seemed to have had a lower crime frequency than the other groups with the exception assault and robbery.

Chemotherapy and Cancer - childrens experiences

With good knowledge about the disease and the treatment, the fear and worry of children and parents can be reduced. Children may be helped by painting to express their experiences. In order to have a good care, the care-personnel need to see and understand what the children need. It is important to live an as regular life as possible during the disease and its treatment. The aim of this study was to elucidate how children experience chemotherapy in conection with their cancer disease.

Att motivera elever

Middle managers in social care find themselves in a middle position. The middle management position involves demands from several interested parties. The demands affect and generate feelings both within themselves and within others and the middle managers have to deal with them all.The aim of this study was to investigate the social care middle manager?s personal experiences of emotions in work.We have completed interviews with four middle managers who are assigned to carry out social care. When doing the interviews we used an interview guide divided into different interview areas.

The number of elderly in Sweden is increasing due to improved living conditions and better medical care. It is important that society adapts to the increase and begins to work preventively to reduce the costs of the increase. An important aspect is the elderly accommodation, the cost of health care in specific accommodation is almost twice as high as those for ordinary housing. Therefore, it is important that we availability adapt dwelling to allow older people to live in ordinary housing for as long as they wish, instead of moving to assisted living before they need it. If we can fulfil the elder?s needs with home care instead, society can save a lot of money.In this report, three different forms of housing has undergone accessibility increases and been inventoried and analysed.

Vårdares upplevelser av att arbeta med döden och döendet utifrån hospicefilosofin : En intervjustudie

Döden anses vara en stressfaktor för hälso- och sjukvårdspersonal och tidigare forskning visar att detta även gäller vårdare vid hospice. Ett antal vanliga copingstrategier fungerar inte i hospicemiljön på grund av att döden är ett oundvikligt inslag där. En studie framhåller dock den låga utbrändhetsgraden bland vårdgivare på hospice och föreslår bland annat att det holistiska perspektivet på omvårdnad kan vara sammankopplat med detta till synes ambivalenta förhållande. Kan hospicefilosofin inverka på synen på döden och döendet bland hospicepersonal? En intervjustudie genomfördes med tre vårdare yrkesverksamma vid ett hospice i Sverige.

Att hantera det ohanterbara : Patienters copingstrategier i palliativ vård

Den palliativa vården även kallad vård vid livets slutskede, innebar stora omställningar för patienter, vilket skapade ett intresse att belysa copingstrategier patienter använder sig av i palliativ vård. Målet med problemformuleringen var att utreda hur patienter upplever sina copingstrategier och hur sjuksköterskor bäst kan stödja patienter med sina copingstrategier. Syftet med föreliggande litteraturstudie var att belysa patienters copingstrategier i palliativ vård. Som en metod utfördes en systematisk litteraturstudie, innehållande 12 vetenskapliga artiklar. Resultatet framhöll copingstrategierna: undvikande, att känna hopp och tro, samt  behovet av stöd.

Palliativ vård vid vårdavdelningar inom den högspecialiserade gastrokirurgin : En kvalitativ studie om sjuksköterskors upplevelser av att vårda döende patienter

Suicid har länge varit den främsta dödsorsaken bland unga människor.Det är en stor uppgift för sjukvården att bemöta patienterna på ett respektfullt sätt med en öppenhet och acceptans. Att ge en personcentrerad vård kräver ett holistiskt synsätt, vilket kan vara en utmaning och bygger på god kommunikation. Det finns endast ett fåtal studier genomförda om patienters upplevelser av att bli vårdade på sjukhus. Det gör att behovet av fler studier kring ämnet bör genomföras. Syftet var att belysa patienters upplevelser av omvårdnad på sjukhus efter suicidförsök.Studien var en litteraturstudie där resultatet baserades på 11 vetenskapliga artiklar som granskades och bearbetades.

Hälsosamtal i elevhälsovården : Vad uppfattas som ett positivt och betydelsefullt hälsosamtal utifrån elev- och skolsköterskeperspektiv?

The aim: was to describe and compare a group of experts and critical care nurses' agreement in detecting delirium in intubated, ventilator treated patients with sedation / analgesia, before and after an in house training intervention with the instrument Confusion Assessment Method for the Intensive Care Unit (CAM-ICU).Method: A quasi-experimental study, one group pretest - posttest design. A convenience sample of 17 critical care nurses in a general intensive care unit included. To detect delirium the instrument CAM-ICU was used, 21 paired tests before and 22 after an educational intervention.Main Results: The results showed that after an in house training intervention sensitivity and kappa coefficient improved of the characteristic 1 "acute onset and fluctuating course," an improvement that was significant. In other features, and overall values were signs of numerical improvement and deterioration in sensitivity, specificity and kappa coefficient but no significant change.Conclusion: Implementing a new instrument for detecting delirium in clinical practice requires education and follow-up. A small sample of critical care nurses with varying ability to use the new instrument and the fact that patients' status may change rapidly making it difficult to draw any conclusions from this study.

Nära ledarskap : En framtida ledarskapsstrategi i omsorgsarbete på Hemvårdsförvaltningen i Halmstad kommun

Trough the contact with the HR (Human Resources) department of home care management in Halmstad municipality, emerged from the management a wish for a documentation for what should be included in leadership at middle management level in the future. People in middle management positions have a large impact on the operation staff and are also in charge of the individual corporate performance and its success. As we have previously been active in the management of multiple role configurations, including middle-management positions, we have some prior understanding of the complexity of this position. The study was conducted with the aim to investigate different aspects of what leadership for middle managers in home care management in Halmstad municipality may mean to them. With the help of different theories and models various aspects were analyzed due to the impact of leadership.Due to the studies purpose and questions, two focus groups was conducted and interviews with respondents from both the lower and superior positions in home care management in Halmstad municipality was done.

Anhörigas upplevelser av palliativ omvårdnad i hemmet - en litteraturstudie.

Bakgrund: Det har blivit alltmer vanligt att cancersjuka patienter i livets slutskede vårdas palliativt i hemmet. Huvudansvaret för omvårdnaden i hemmet hamnar på de anhöriga eftersom de befinner sig närmast den sjuke patienten. För att sjukvården ska kunna stötta de anhöriga på bästa sätt är det viktigt att få kunskap om hur de anhöriga upplever sin livssituation. Syftet med studien var att beskriva hur anhöriga upplever hemsituationen då en cancersjuk anhörig vårdas palliativt i hemmet. Metod: Beskrivande litteraturstudie baserad på vetenskapliga artiklar som söktes i Medline och Cinahl.

Utskrivning från sjukhus ? En studie av utskrivningsprocessen vid en medicinklinik

Introduction: The interaction between different care facilities and professions is important in the care of older patients. Patients do not always get enough time to recover and often have a continued need for care. A discharge process of good structure in which the patient and relatives are participating and the continued need of care is assured is of importance in care of older patients.Objective: The overall purpose of this study is to compare the discharge process for patients over 75 years old admitted to a emergency medicine ward respective a emergency medicine ward with geriatric focus at a medicine clinic, to compare discharge process between these wards and evaluate the patients situation at home after discharge.Methods: A survey of medical records with a protocol and a telephone survey have been performed. Data was analyzed with descriptive and analytic statistic. Patients at the medical wards MAVA and care unit number 21/34, which are 75 years or older and are discharged to their own home, within the municipality of Göteborgs stad, in Sweden, are included in this study.Results: The discharge process differed between medicine wards with emergency medicine and geriatric focus.

Distriktssköterskors erfarenheter av att vårda patienter i livets slutskede inom palliativ hemsjukvård : En intervjustudie

När patienten önskar att få avsluta sitt liv i hemmet krävs det att den avancerade vården också flyttas till hemmet. Distriktssköterskor har övergripande omvårdnadsansvar inom palliativ hemsjukvård och kan uppleva etiska, moraliska och kommunikativa svårigheter. För en god palliativ omvårdnad krävs det att distriktssköterskor är engagerade, har erfarenhet och har avancerad kompetens inom palliativ vård. Syftet med denna studie är att belysa distriktssköterskors erfarenheter av att vårda patienter i livets slutskede inom palliativ hemsjukvård. Nio distriktssköterskor intervjuades.
