The project ?Investment proposal for grinding station for service work of screw feeders? has been performed during the spring semester 2014 for the course Bachelor?s thesis for degree of  Bachelor of science in machine engineering at Karlstad?s University. The project has been performed in cooperation with Fiber Workshop which is a service department in the company Valmet AB. Valmet AB is a company that develops and manufacture soft paper tissue machines. The screw feeder is a part that is used to feed, and squeeze out the water out of woodchips.

Bakgrund: Den postoperativa smärtans utfall påverkas av en rad olika faktorer såsom kirurgins lokalisation och omfattning, barnets ålder och dess förväntningar. I mitten av 1900-talet sågs negativa konsekvenser av att barn blev lämnade ensamma på sjukhus. Detta har lett fram till en mer familjecentrerad vård där föräldrarna har en viktig roll. Vården bygger på ett nära samarbete, där föräldrarna är en bro mellan barnet och vårdpersonalen. Föräldrarna kan med sin närvaro trösta, stötta och hjälpa barnet att lindra sin smärta.

Use of computers and computer networks is nowadays a part of everyday life. You do not use them only at home when you sit at you computer, but you can use them all the time everywhere. This can involve everything from surf to any website when you are at home, to checking your email on your mobile when you are on your way to work. Most people do not think about how it really works when they try to access a web page by typing the address into their browser, but something that most people probably notice is how long it can sometimes take to access a web page.All items which are directly connected to the IP network have a unique IP address that is used to make it possible to communicate. The IP address is either a period separated sequence of digits representing 32 bits or a colon separated sequence of digits representing 128 bits, depending on whether the address is an IPv4 or IPv6 address.

Self-compacting concrete has soon been around for a decade. Recently the prefabrication industry has started to use this fairly new concrete type in larger scales, mainly because of its distinctive properties.  There are still certain areas that need to be thoroughly examined, such as bond capacity. There have been very few studies regarding shear capacity due to the fact that the procedure is complicated.This report will highlight a method to examine the shear capacity of different surfaces that have been prewetted as well as non-prewetted surfaces. The surface areas follow BBK 04?s and Eurocode 2?s demand for surface roughness.  A smooth surface will be completed in order to confirm if the different shapes influence the bond strength by shear stress or not.                       The purpose of this essay is to measure the bond strength within the shear capacity as well as examine the impact it has on surface roughness and treatment for shear bond.The method used to identify the shear capacity is called L-shaped Push-Off Test.

Continuously grazed grasslands have remarkably high plant species diversity. In Sweden this type of habitat has declined for the last two centuries. Changed land use has caused habitat fragmentation and loss of habitat quality. This has caused a great number of plant species to end up on the verge of extinction. To try to save this unique habitat and the species that are tied to it, lots of resources are laid on restoration of abandoned grasslands. In this study, plant species richness of continuously grazed, abandoned and restored grasslands were related to degree of overgrowth, time since overgrowth started and rate of overgrowth.

Intangible feelings of sorrow and grief, caused by events like separation, death, loss and trauma, all leave some kind of traces in us and they play an important role in our development. The individualistic society here in Sweden has shaped us to keep our feelings inside and at bay; since our childhood we have learnt that showing emotions like tears, sorrow and sadness are signs of weakness and can make others and yourself feel uncomfortable. With the starting point from my own experience and understanding of how we can deal and handle grief, I take a closer look on how jewelry, objects and rituals can be of importance in a grieving process and our lack of visual outer display of grief in today?s society. Through Sara Ahmeds theory I found a new possible way of understanding emotions and how they shape us.

The purpose of this master´s thesis was to investigate the role and function of the annual reports of public libraries: for what purpose are they put together and how are they evaluated and utilised. The study presents different views on the structure and content of library annual reports. Focusing on a specific public library and its municipal administration, the authors identify and describe problems and possibilities regarding the library annual reports. The study also provides a general view of their occurrence, their addressees and the importance attached to them.In a review of current literature on accounting and activity reports the authors place the annual reports of public libraries in a wider context. The study also presents two current models of performance measurement - the Intangible Assets Monitor and the Balanced Scorecard - which were developed in the private sector, and the authors discuss their relevance when applied to public libraries.Data were collected both in interviews and by means of a questionnaire.

Laminitis has crippled horses through times and many cures have been used to treat it. Since the mechanism of the disease is yet not fully understood, treatments are only ways to alleviate the pain and at best, slow down the pathological process enough to make time for improvement. This paper is a retrospective study of 71 horses treated by a protocol at Hästsjukhuset Strömsholm. The protocol implies three visits at zero, five and fifteen weeks. At each the horse is evaluated and treated by a veterinarian.

Aim: The aim of this study was to examine a way to measure students? knowledge development by using a self-made measure instrument based on William Doll?s postmodern curriculum.Question: Is it suitable to use an self-made measure instrument based on William Doll?s post-modern curriculum theory to measure development of knowledge?Methods: The study was based on process-hermeneutics and was focused on analysingcollege students? written and oral reflective thoughts. The data was collected over three lessons, where six students? written reflective thoughts were handed in. An observation was carried out each lesson for an extra control of validity.

The purpose of this study is to hightlight experiences of living in a relationship where BDSM is being exercised. The acronym is an umbrella term for bondage/discipline, dominance/submission and sadomasochism. The study is based on qualitative interviews with five persons who define themselves as BDSM practitioners. The overall questions of this study are: How does the BDSM practice appear in everyday life? How did the practice start and how has it developed over time? What's included in the sexual BDSM practice? The empirical material has been analyzed with interactionism as the theoritical framework. The picture that emerges is complex.

Vaccinology is an ever expanding field. As a member of the veterinary staff it is important to stay up to date with the continuous new scientific data and recommendations that affect the care that our companion animals receive at the veterinary clinic. This paper presents adverse vaccination reactions, their cause, risk factors and suggestions how we can minimize the risk of adverse vaccine events in dogs. Dog owners in Sweden were allowed to answer a questionnaire about adverse events following vaccination. Lethargy, edema and pruritus were among the most frequently seen adverse effects.

Inledning: För barn kan sjukhusvistelser och allt vad de innebär av undersökningar och behandlingar ofta uppfattas som hotfulla och obehagliga. Insättning av perifer venkateter och venös provtagning tillhör de ingrepp som barn uppfattar som mest stressfulla och smärtsamma. Det finns i dagsläget gott om evidensbaserade metoder för att lindra barns oro och smärta i samband dessa ingrepp men det är oklart i hur stor utsträckning dessa metoder tillämpas.Syfte: Syftet är att undersöka sjuksköterskans tillvägagångssätt vid venös provtagning och insättning av perifer venkateter. Utgångspunkten för studien är undersöka sjuksköterskans förberedelser av barnet, hur sjuksköterskan arbetar för att främja barnets självbestämmande, användning av distraktioner, farmakologisk smärtlindring samt hur barn och föräldrar bemöts av sjuksköterskan inför och under provtagning eller insättning av perifer venkateter.Metod: Venös provtagning och insättning av perifer venkateter observerades och registrerades efter ett egenutformat observationsschema. Observationerna gjordes på avdelningar och mottagningar på ett barnsjukhus.Resultat: 18 sjuksköterskor observerades i 25 situationer.

Detaljerad information om vindförhållandena på en site är en nödvändighet för att göra beräkningar av lönsamhet i ett vindkraftsprojekt. Mätningarna behöver vara kontinuerliga och så korrekta som möjligt. Därtill bör de göras under minst ett års tid eftersom vindförhållandena på en plats är säsongsberoende. Under vintertid och framför allt på högre latituder eller altituder, kan mätutrustning påverkas av nedisning. En nedisad anemometer kan ge databortfall eller felaktiga mätningar.Identifiering av felaktiga data är en viktig del av analyseringsarbetet eftersom risken annars är att vindförhållandena på platsen underskattas.

Bakgrund: Sederade eller medvetslösa patienter kan inte verbalt kommunicera sin smärta. Smärta är svårt för sjukvårdspersonalen att bedöma om beteendebaserade smärtskattningsinstrument inte är implementerade. Forskning har visat att neurokirurgiska intensivvårdspatienter upplevt moderat till svår smärta under vårdtiden på intensivvårdsavdelningen och denna smärta har underbehandlats. Critical-Care Pain Observation Tool (CPOT) är ett smärtskattningsinstrument som nyligen validerats i Sverige för att kunna användas inom intensivvården på icke kommunikativa vuxna patienter, dock har neurokirurgiska intensivvårdspatienter exkluderats vid valideringen.Syfte: Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka intensivvårdssjuksköterskans uppfattning om CPOTs användbarhet inom neurokirurgisk intensivvård.Metod: Mixed-method enkätstudie. En implementering av ett beteendebaserat smärtskattningsinstrument.Resultat: Elva sjuksköterskor inom neurokirurgisk intensivvård deltog.

Syfte och frågeställningarSyftet med studien är att undersöka hur sex gymnasielärare i idrott och hälsa går tillväga för att bedöma samt mäta elevernas förmåga att röra sig med en god kvalitet av komplex karaktär. Frågeställningarna som kommer att beröras är; Vad ansåg gymnasielärare på fyra skolor som undervisar i idrott och hälsa om uttrycket rörelsekvalité av komplex karaktär? Har lärarna några konkreta verktyg (tester, laborationer o.s.v.) för att mäta eller bedöma elevernas kunskaper gällande god rörelsekvalité av komplex karaktär?Hur resonerar de olika idrottslärarna kring progressionen från grundskolan till gymnasiet gällande goda rörelsekvalitér av en komplex karaktär?MetodKvalitativ intervju med halvstrukturerade frågor användes som metod för denna undersökning. Sex idrottslärare ifrån Stockholmsregionen deltog i undersökningen och könsfördelningen var jämn. PCK fungerade som teoretisk referensram.ResultatLärarna påstod att ju fler moment en rörelse innehåller desto mer komplex är den.
