Studies in the recent years have showed that the preschool playground is important for both the physical and emotional development of children. The Botkyrka local government has decided to improve their preschool playgrounds in order to take advantage of these studies. The administration of childcare and education in Botkyrka is arranging a network between the different preschools where they work together to improve their outdoor environments. The network is arranging workshops and seminars where people from the different preschools can come and gain inspiration for improvements of their own preschools. The administration of properties has created a document where they describe the changes that are supposed to be made to the different outdoor environments. Through the administration of properties and the person who is responsible for the outdoor environments I was introduced to their work with the preschool playgrounds.

Syftet med vår undersökning är att se vilka mål pedagogerna på en I Ur och Skur skola har med sin utomhusundervisning, samt att se vad eleverna i skolans år 3 uttrycker att de lär sig. Vi intervjuar fyra pedagoger och fem elever på en I Ur och Skur skola vars svar vi analyserar och diskuterar utifrån I Ur och Skurs pedagogik samt lärandeteorier. Studiens resultat visar att pedagogerna förutom förtrogenhet till naturen, väljer att poängtera de mål med undervisningen som innefattar färdigheter som t.ex. socialt samspel. Eleverna nämner detta kunnande mer som ett bonus, och framhåller istället de teoretiska ämnenas vikt..

Through interviews with children of ages 4-5 years old and by observing children children at play at three preschools with different types of outdoor surroundings, I have investigated if the preschools outdoor surroundings have any influences on the children´ choice of play. The hypothesis was that natural surroundings can entice children´s interest in nature being in it and play. I have also investigated if the children know why it is important to be outdoors and if they know it has a positive influence on their health.The result of my investigation is that the children play about the same games at the three different preschool gardens, but at the preschool with more natural surroundings, the children have more contact with plants and animals, and could learn of the different phenomena of nature by the preschool teacher answering their questions. Most of the children in the interviews know it´s useful to be outdoors and be on the move and get fresh air, but many of them thought it was most important to play. By being outdoors the children get exercise, fresh air, play and at the same time they establish an understanding of the nature and a healthier life..

De finmotoriska förmågorna är oerhört viktiga vad det gäller den mänskliga läs- och skrivförmågan, då handen behöver vara tränad för att göra små rörelser och ögonen ska kunna följa dessa rörelser. Barn som har svårigheter med de finmotoriska förmågorna blir beroende av andra, då de kan få svårt att klara av vardagliga bestyr så som att klä på sig själva och använda bestick. Något som försvårar arbetet med de finmotoriska förmågorna utomhus är att barn använder vantar stora delar av året och att tillgång till materiel som utmanar handrörelser plockas fram mer sällan under vinterhalvåret på grund av kylan. Detta gör att barn inom I ur och skur-förskolor som oftast är ute får mindre träning av de finmotoriska förmågorna under kalla årstider. Vi har jämfört I ur och skur-förskolor med förskolor utan den inriktningen, vad det gäller arbetet med de finmotoriska förmågorna.

Vårt val av ämne grundar sig på att vi ville undersöka vilka olika arbetssätt inom läs- och skrivinlärning samt lärmiljöer som sexåringarna möter när de börjar i förskoleklass. Då vi tidigare i vår utbildning stött på och intresserat oss för utomhuspedagogiken så ville vi se om arbetssätt med läs- och skrivinlärning eller lärmiljöer skiljer åt mellan traditionell förskoleklass och förskoleklass med I Ur och Skur-inriktning.Vi har genomfört en kvalitativ undersökning med intervjuer och observationer i fyra förskoleklasser, två I Ur och Skur samt två traditionella förskoleklasser.Det som framkommit i vår undersökning är att arbetssätten inte skiljer sig åt beroende på om det är en traditionell eller I Ur och Skur-förskoleklass. De skillnader som vi sett beror snarare på lokala arbetsplaner och läraren/lärarna. Däremot är en slutsats att lärandemiljöerna skiljer åt mellan traditionell och I Ur och Skur-förskoleklass. I de traditionella är det mer skollikt och den pedagogiska verksamheten är förlagd inomhus.

The purpose of this study is to investigate what knowledge children in preschool have about recycling, and to examine how teachers work with environmental efforts to increase children's understanding of environment and sustainable development. And if there is differs between the two preschool classes, one of which has a environmental profile. The study is based on qualitative semi-structured interview methods of teachers and children, and observation of the children during a sorting exercise with a number of garbage objects. The result shows that teachers in the environment profiled preschool spend more time per week on work related to environmental and natural issues and worked more thematic. Similarity between this preschool classes is that the use of outdoor education to get into environmental awareness.

 Sammanfattning: Den här studien syftar till att ta reda på om föräldrars utomhus vanor påverkar valet av att sätta sina barn på en I Ur och Skur förskola respektive på en kommunal/allmän förskola. Tidigare forskning visar att det är bland annat närheten till hemmet som är avgörande. För de som sökte sig till andra förskolor/skolor var det också pedagogiken och inriktningen som spelade en avgörande roll. Den här uppsatsen bygger på en kvantitativ undersökning där fyra förskolors föräldrar har deltagit, två kommunala och två I Ur och Skur. Sammanlagt har 180 föräldrar tillfrågats och 44 deltagit.

To figure this out, I have taken my findings from three different interviews that I have done atmy preschool with a group of children that have been preselected.I am also curious about whether there is a difference in different types of schools. In this essay I have compared the preschool I work with a Montessori school and a third type of schoolwhere the children spends most of their day´s outdoors called ?Ur och Skur?In my results I can not see any major differences in these three preschools work with mathematics. The childrens knowledge is at a similar level and the work with geometry hasbeen implemented in a similar way..

Through observations of the childrens play, I have made notes of all activities at the pre-school playground. The intention of the observations was to see if the playground environment invites and stimulate the childs motorie development. The study will be a part of a future planning work of the preschool environment.The results show that the pre-school playground environment invites to physical activities that stimulate the childs motory development. The variation of activities is dependent on the design of the landscapes. The pedagogues taking part of the childrens activities are one of the factors which contributed to the childs choice of activity.The preschool plays an important part in the childrens development so it is important that all personnel have basic knowledge on the importance of outdoor activities.Keywords: Fundamental movement, motorie development, preschool playground, outdoor enviroment.

The shape and arrangement of the outdoor environment at a preschool has a critical impact on the possibilities to practice different pedagogic activities (Grahn et al.1997). At the preschool at Edwin Ahlqvists road, the employees are inspired by Reggio Emilia in their way of thinking, and they consider their outdoor environment is not suitable for the pedagogic activities they use. Reggio Emilia is a city in the north of Italy (Wallin 2001). The preschools there are famous for their pedagogy, their creativity and their democratic way of working (Dahlbech & Johansson 1986). The Reggio Emilia pedagogy is constantly renewed and developed, but with the children?s needs in focus and simultaneously with the quick changes of the modern society.

I studien ?Barnets inflytande och delaktighet kring måltiden i förskolan? har vi undersökt barns delaktighet och inflytande kring måltiden på två olika förskolor och sedan jämfört dessa. Undersökningen har genomförts med hjälp av sex stycken strukturerade observationer. Vi studerade hur de vuxna jobbade med delaktighet och inflytande med barnen. Vi studerade även hur barnens kommunikation var när de pratade med varandra och till de vuxna.

Lot?s of reasons are showing that outdoor life has a positive influence on the general publics health and studies are confirming this theory. On the other hand there are a few amount of Swedish science project?s regarding outdoor life. The aim of this study was to examine how people feel that their health influences by outdoor life.

Syftet med arbetet var att ta reda på hur man kan arbeta med utomhuspedagogik i förskolan. Finns det någon skillnad hos pedagogerna om man arbetar med inriktningen I Ur och Skur eller inte. En enkätundersökning utfördes i ett begränsat område i Norra Svealand. Undersökningen visar att alla arbetar med utomhuspedagogik, men de med inriktningen I Ur och Skur gör det i större omfattning och oftare. Den visar även att de flesta anser att det är positivt för hälsan att vara ute och att det negativa i huvudsak är att alla barn inte har rätt kläder för utevistelsen.

This study deals with teachers ideas about the physical environment of a mobile preschool and how it affects children?s learning. The essay describes how the preschool bus is decorated and how a normal day works in the mobile bus. The survey was based on the following questions:Are there disadvantages and advantages in terms of physical environment in the mobile preschool from an educator based perspective?What are the teacher?s thoughts about the impact on children?s learning in terms of the physical environment on the bus?Summary: To answer my questions I have participated in activities during the day and I have used the interviews to find out the teachers thoughts.
