Undersökningen behandlar Rudolf Abelins författarskap från slutet av 1880-talet och fram till mitten av 1910-talet. Det finns en avsaknad av forskning, om Abelin, som tar hänsyn till samtidskontexten och samtliga av hans publicerade verk. Uppsatsen åsyftar att visa hur samtliga böcker skall uppfattas som en helhet. De böcker som studeras är främst mönsterböcker i trädgårdsskötsel, men där ventileras också ett större system av idéer och värderingar. Litteraturen placeras i kontexten av den kulturkris som uppkom­mer när moderniteten gör sitt intåg i Sverige.  Modernitetskritiska rörelser, som egna­hemsrörelsen och kolonirörelsen, jämförs med de idéer som presenteras i Abelins litte­ratur, för att på så vis försöka skapa en större förståelse för hur hans såg på sin samtid och framtid.Uppsatsen påvisar att det finns stora likheter mellan Abelin och de modernitetskri­tiska rörelserna, och att det är en utveckling som skett över tid.

Digitalt textiltryck ger mig möjlighet att skapa textilier av hög kvalitet i små upplagor utan begränsningar vad gäller rapportstorlek och färgantal. Jag kan producera hållbara och praktiska textilier med en handgjord känsla. Dessa egenskaper ger tekniken intressanta möjligheter som en överbryggare mellan design och textil konst/konsthantverk. Det ger också stora möjligheter att anpassa formgivningen efter en specifik möbel eller miljö. Detta vill jag utnyttja i mitt arbete.

The residential yard at Kvarteret Landsfiskalen 1, in the area Herrgården in Rosengård, Malmö was built in 1971 and has since then been reconstructed twice, in 1984 and 2008. The yard is found in an area which was built during the years 1965 ? 1974, a period in which the swedish goverment approved a decision to build one million homes, and much of the events in this particular yard is also typical for the process in many other areas built during the same period.At the Original construction the design of the yard was entirely incused by the pressure in time and finance, one was under at that time, in order to over- come the housing shortage. The design it has nevertheless been given, reflects the esthetic ideals of that time well.The building of the area was barely finished when the swedish authori- ties started handing out grants in order to support the rearmament of the outdoor environment in the areas built during the so called ?million program?.

This thesis investigates the reception of middle literature novels among critics in Swedish newspapers and at Swedish libraries. Works by three authors were chosen as representatives for middle literature: Helen Fielding, Nick Hornby and Tony Parsons. The investigation is based on interviews with librarians at the Gothenburg City Library, the total purchased number of books at public libraries in Sweden and analysis of Swedish newspaper reviews. The result is compared with theories by literary sociologists as Jofrid Karner Smidt, Janice Radway, Erland Munch-Petersen and Staffan Bergsten among others. It was found out that literary scientists and critics had a different way of looking at middle literature.

This thesis is a part of the DySCAS (Dynamically Self-Configuring Automotive System)project which has the overall purpose of creating a middleware for the electronics in an automotive environment. The thesis has been made with collaboration with ENEA AB who is a member of the DySCAS project. ENEA AB has developed a demonstration platform to test the fundamental ideas which the DySCAS project is built on.The purpose of this thesis was to design and implement a GPS application to be added to the demonstration platform. This was done by adding a GPS receiver to the Original DySCAS demonstration platform and designing and implementing an application to be able to extract the information from it. The resulting application is able to present cur- rent position and absolute time to the DySCAS networks as services to be used by other applications or by the network it self.

The aim of this study was to examine the amounts of heavy metals in the sediment of a wetland constructed for stormwater treatment. The wetland is called Vattenparken and is located in the city of Enköping. The heavy metals which were analysed were Pb, Cd, Ni, Zn, Cu, Cr and Hg. The total metal concentrations were determined using HNO3 chemical extraction. From 8 sampling sites 5 sediment cores were taken.

In this essay I have read the novels Wide Sargasso Sea (Jean Rhys 1966), Desirada (Maryse Condé 1997) and Invisible Cities (Italo Calvino 1972) through Édouard Glissant?s notion of the primary scene in Philosophie de la relation. Poésie en étendue. I have examined how the primary scene can be seen as a political/an aesthetical strategy in the three novels. This was done in order to question the blunted tool of the notion of the identity, which is often considered in studies regarding ?postcolonial novels?.

The aim of this thesis is to examine how the identity of the public librarianwith regard to reading is manifested in the library field. The approaches thatare taken to reading and readers are examined as well as the consequencesdifferent approaches might have. The empirical material is based on 93articles published in Swedish library journals. The theoretical andmethodological starting point is discourse analysis. The application ofdiscourse analysis according to Michel Foucault?s hypotheses reveals threediscursive formations regarding the professional identity of public librarianswithin the framework of reading promotion: The public librarian asguarantor of democracy is related to the public library's Original mission offostering, cultivating and educating citizens.

En god formgivning kräver en ekonomisk insats som är förenad med ett visst mått av risktagande. Formgivningsskyddet hjälper formgivaren att återfå sin investering. På EU-nivå regleras området av Mönsterdirektivet och EG-förordningen för gemenskapsformgivning. Formgivningens utseende skyddas på liknande sätt i de båda regleringarna och omfattar varje formgivning som inte ger ett annat helhetsintryck för den kunnige användaren.I den svenska lagstiftningen regleras området av Mönsterskyddslagen och Lagen om upphovsrätt till konstnärliga och litterära verk.

IT is often seen as a solution to many problems concerning effectiveness in organizations. Information systems within the healthcare sector is often viewed as medical devices rather than just systems or services. These medical devices are thoroughly regulated by laws, standards and certifications. In this study I participated in an innovative project that aimed to bring new life and use to the old fashioned patient journal by giving it a visual representation through the use of an avatar. I aimed to study the effects of regulators connected with the patient journal as a source of information for the innovative project.

Målsättningen med färgåtergivning i katalogproduktion är att färgen på produkten i katalogen ska upplevas samma som färgen på själva produkten. ICSAB (IKEA Catalogue Services) producerar varje år IKEA-katalogen som innehåller ca 15000 olika produktbilder. Att reproducera dessa bilder är ett komplext problem som ställer höga krav på färghanteringssystemet, färgspecificering av produktfärger, färgverifieringsmetoder samt den visuella bedömningen av produktbilderna. Rapporten beskriver produktionsflödet på ICSAB från fotografering av produkterna i fotostudion till utmatning av förprovtryck. Utifrån detta arbetsflöde analyseras de faktorer som påverkar färgreproduktionen.

This essay, Jacobsberg ? a Landscape Garden and a Cemetery is a documentation and a historical analyze where I?ve been focusing on the development of the landscape garden in Sweden in relation to a garden called Jacobsberg. The garden was built close to Visby on Gotland in the early 1800s by the assessor Jacob Dubbe, but has since been almost forgotten. My survey aims to depict the circumstances surrounding the creation of Jacobsberg. In what purpose was it built? I?ve also been examine the historical context of the garden?s origins with the intention to define and confirm its architectural style.The essay comprises two major parts, where the first part deals with the history behind Jacob Dubbe and Jacobsberg, and contains an illustration of the assessor?s life and of the garden?s Original structure and shape.

Which market segments does the visual communication of Absolut Vodka seem to address?Method/Material: The research was conducted through a qualitative research study in which four Youtube videos by Absolut Vodka were analyzed.

Carbon sequestration through restoration of degraded pastoral soils is an advocated way of mitigating global warming, and simultaneously alleviating poverty. An often proposed rehabilitation strategy is fencing of pastures, a method that was introduced to the farmers of Chepareria by the Vi-Agroforestry organization in 1987. The landscape of Chepareria changed from eroded, over-grazed grasslands, to a mixture of open-grazed commons, pastoral enclosures and cultivations. The aim of this study was to investigate (1) if the soil organic carbon (SOC) is higher inside the enclosures than on the open-grazed commons, (2) if SOC is affected by duration of fencing and (3) what effect cultivation of pastures has on the SOC. Estimations of vegetation cover and deep profile (100cm) soil sampling was performed on six clusters containing; (1) open-grazing (OG) (2) 1-5 years of fencing (FENCED(1)), (3) 7-10 years of fencing (FENCED(2)), (4) 15-23 years of fencing (FENCED(3)), (5) maize from OG (A(OG)), (6) maize from fenced pasture (A(FENCED)).
